jihday: if you are mentioning Ikpeba Kanu Mikel then Benny and Radebe too deserve to be on the same table. At his peak Radebe was probably a top 5 or maybe top 10 defender in the EPL, McCarthy had a fantastic career at Ajax and Porto, had the type of career most exeagles can only dream of Very true. Liberia is not a major soccer nation but that’s the only African country that has produced the only ballon dor African winner to date. That South Africa don’t have much talents doesn’t mean they haven’t produced exceptional and world class players in the past. I just wonder what the argument is all about. I don’t give a damn about SA but we shouldn’t be saying they haven’t produced players like benny, radebe and pienaar who dazzled the world in their own time and way. |

Once you lose today, your pain becomes the song for other nations who'd gloat and mock you.

BankyGee: Victor Boniface had one of the biggest downgrades in world football in 2025... Tough times for the Nigerian striker. Some players are just unlucky. I hope he can still salvage his career, but if not, he should take solace in his previous achievements. Makes me remember Carl Ikeme. Imagine that health condition never arose, with this stature and personality that was like another Peter Czech that never was. Life, at times, is just cruel, and we just have to move on. |

yarimo: Always speaking like a fool I don't usually respond to stuff like this, but you're right. It's disappointing to see educated men speak this way. If you can't win or contest in an election, it's foolish to admit that INEC and the judiciary will just award the winner. This is gaslighting, and the man, as you said, is indeed foolish |

CapitalCee: Lol. You don reduce am to great player 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Steven Piernaar is just a decent average player, he is not a great player we all watched him at Everton. Its not about plenty of great players. We are talking about quality. Ghana is a smaller country than SA they have produce far better quality players all round than SA. Likewise Senegal and Cameroon. My main point is naturally SouthAfricans are not just good in football its a genetics thing. That is why I mentioned earlier that SA may need to do like France or Belgium to tap into the talent pool of their huge immigrant base who are already SA citizens to boost their national team football, and then mix with their lean local pool. Enough of this SA conversation sef, we get match today |

My main point is naturally SouthAfricans are not just good in football its a genetics thing. He was Everton's player of the season around 2010; in another season earlier than that, he was the top UEFA Champions League top assist provider, which can never be an average player by all standards abeg. Go and listen to Yakubu in one of his interviews and see how he showered praises on the player. He was indeed world-class. SA may not have produced more players like him, but he stands out. Injury even affected him, as he would probably have played for bigger clubs. |

CapitalCee: You must be a joker to think Steven Pienaar is a world class player. You guys should take it easy, SA has produced huge talents in the past, yes, they are not plenty like Nigeria, but to say Steve Pienarr was not a great player is just bad belle, ask Yakubu Aiyegbeni, that was the guy feeding him assists in their days at Everton. |

charlesemeka85: the same Fortune that was a reknowned bench warmer for over 4 seasons at Man United?🤣
The only known players SA players are Mccathy and Radebe 🤣🤣🤣 I also think Steve Pienaar was decent, if not world-class, in those days at Everton. The problem of SA is a lack of talent. If they are smarter, they should take advantage of the huge immigrant diversity in their country to beef up their national team football, like France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and, in recent years, countries like Canada and the US. I hope they drop their local champion mentality soon. |

FiveFootNinja: Moroccan fans booed South African players in the stadium and were rooting for Cameroon. That's what you get when you're xenophobic and strut around like you're the best when realistically you haven't achieved a quarter of what others have. With this performance, they'll be lucky to win a single game this summer at the World Cup. Las las fake life no good. 😂 I don laugh tire, people online Dey advise SA make dem pack their load on time so they can still catch the same plane with Tanzania say their plane go drop Tanzania first before dropping them finally in SA as the last stop 😂 |
