a poster (EUinvestor) saw this coming and posted this a while ago! https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-505338.128.html they've just got to sort out their issues cos it's such a big shame! |
got this from a friend after series of inquiries about the safety of our funds. like i posted earlier here, the general attitude is more like "if you want your money, come get it'! From: Oti Ikomi (Managing Director/CEO) Sent: 09 August 2011 9:50 PM To: PHB Nigeria Subject: Message from MD/CEO Dear Colleagues, Greetings. This first note is to inform you of my resumption in office and to update you on our Bank, Keystone Bank. Keystone Bank is a full service commercial bank that will operate efficiently, competitively and professionally. We look to liabilities growth, asset growth and a speedy return to profitability. You are enjoined to give a first class customer service, encourage customers to keep funds with us a healthy bank (per above). ZUBBYNWA:you tookthose words outta my mouth! that's exactly what I'll do! i also ensure i pick it with my left hand! ![]() |
this indeed is a shame! imagine Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast making such comments against the UK. |
@OP, Don't tell you had all the time to type all of this or did you copy it from a site?? jeez! some mothers really do have 'em! |
@OP, you money is safe! in fact, the attitude of the Bank staff i interacted with today was more like "if you wish to withdraw all of your money, please do! this Bank ain't going down any time soon." I was later made to understand that fresh funds to the of =N=679Billion was injected today into the three banks. so my dear, I'll advise you to sleep with your two eyes closed. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/08/afribank-co-amcon-acquires-bridge-banks-injects-n679bn/ |
funny tho'! @ poster, u actually got the better part of some Nlanders! ![]() |
This sounds kind of funny, but it appears true! The thing too has stabilised abit @ my end too. So what were the sacked guys doing with the power? Were they hoarding it? How?? |
following this right now on Aljazeera. first time in history! one has always wondered why the U.S had a triple A rating despite the huge debt. Lets wait and see if Moodys and Fitch will follow suit. meanwhile, CNN has deliberately not focused on this the way they would ordinarily have if it were another country. Its a SHAME! would like to also see how stock markets around the world would react on Monday . . . |
Don't mean to cause panic, but the implications are glaring. The job of the NDIC basically is like that of an undertaker! Though the supervise from time to time, their core responsibilities show up once a bank is in trouble. Moreso, it has been mentioned that the NDIC will run these banks as bridge banks until they are handed over to AMCON. This also implies that these banks now belong to the FG. Whatever the FG wishes to do with the in the long run will therefore have some political undertone. Again, CBN has sacked the management they appointed into these banks leaving the management in the hands of the undertaker. The undertaker can choose to hurriedly bury them or preserve their bodies for some time by embalming them and thereafter burying them at a later time. Bottomline - these banks are now the properties of the Federal Government of Nigeria! |
Congrats & nice to have you come here to appreciate the efforts some others put in. Ensure you remember others on your way to the top and please don't forget Nairaland like many other have done in the past! It shall be well with you! |
but wait o! on a second thought, I remember that Obasanjo farms carried out an agricultural program for the Delta State Govt sometime in 2009. Could these cheques have been for payment for contract executed? Because, Baba aught to be smarter than this! Even if he has to chop bribe, why pass it through a company account that is often audited. Besides, if the judges and other lawyers were smart enough to collect cash, why would baba then choose to act as a conduit with the smoking gun left in his hands?? anyway, time alone will tell. |
This is indeed very shocking! I wonder how Baba Obj (or Obasanjo farms) will exonerate & extricate himself from this mess. This has finished whatever is left of his tattered image. And we would also like to know how the judiciary will also handle this. |
Now discover you strengths by Marcus Buckingham & Donald O. Clifton. Not a bad book at all. An international bestseller that explains how to develop your talents and those of the people you manage. |
@ OP, it actually depends on the car make! if you are indeed considering a brand new ride, I advise you buy in Nigeria. Especially if you are considering an established brand like Range Rover , Toyota e.t.c I had a cousin who shipped in a brand new car from the US and it turned out to be a lemon as the warranty on the car became voided once it left the shores of the US. Bottomline, you are safer with a brand new car here especially with the after sales service. |
pls put up the address of this hotel! Thank you, |
Happy Birthday Seun! Please allow us ask you questions about Nairaland and yourself today at least. and please let your responses be as sincere as possible. Oya! Question 1. How "hold" are you? in case you don't understand that, let me re-phrase " Are you a billionaire'? |
how much is this deal worth please? |
Kind of advice I really don't appreciate! If you no get wetin to talk, you go blow whistle! ![]() |
.. |
Una don use numerous advice confuse the OP. ![]() But really, there are salient points raised by a few posters above which i believe the OP should focus more on rather than on school rating and all what not. This dude has been in Banking for more than 3 years and has no "hands on" experience in pet eng. Implication is the someone who's got even 1 year experience in the same field and with same (masters) qualification will have an edge. where does this leave him in recruitment fairs? More so, what are the prospects getting a job in pet. eng. in Naija after the masters? since majority of peeps here believe the chances are slimmer in the UK. Like someone had earlier advised, a masters in supply chain or other business related field would be a more viable alternative. we've got a lot of FMCG companies rushing in and expanding into Naija (e.g Walmart and P & G's present expansion drive) as we'll see in the next couple of years. Nigerians need to position & arm themselves for these opportunities lest we'll have Indians, Lebanese and South Africans taking over them like we have experienced in other fields in recent times. So dude, comparative advantage (you can leverage on) is the word! |
I understand that in Africa, it's bad manners to 'talk while you are eating'!!! ![]() Good stratagem! |
what happened?? so sad! Her business was doing so well. She was a big distributor to one of Nigeria's foremost FMCG companies. Rest In Peace. Feel so sorry for her husband. they were really so close. |
Don't mind them at all! They are now only rushing in after Shoprite and Game (South African brands) have succeeded. What happened to woolsworth that used to be on Adeola Odeku? they ran out of the country when things were not too pleasant for them. These American brands are all in developing economies like India, Malaysia and even East Africa. Now that others have blazed the trail and opened up the market, they are now running in. Its actually just a matter of time. I know Macdonalds will come running in shortly too. . .just like KFC recently did. |
I am with Eucharia Uche on this! |
Is this not the same amount SLOT sells?? ![]() |
@ OP, Haven't you heard that the cost of doing business in Nigeria is 3 times the cost of other countries? go on and research this. it's mainly due to lack of infrastructure and the enabling environment. |
Whatever it is, this man should pls appoint commissioners! I wonder what the ACN would say if Mr. president did the same thing! How long will it take to assemble a cabinet?? |
