Mujtahida: I can't for the life of me believe what Rohr just did I can't figure how he made no changes to react to Argentina's substitutions. Ogu and Ebuehi would have come in to close up the game with 10 mins to go. |

komekn: When I said with Musa and KC we have no Aerial threat. I was told I'm talking rubbish.
The Argentine CB' s are under no Pressure at all, no physical presence or aerial threat to unsettle them. It's been sad really seeing the intelligent quotient of the thread go downhill the past few days. Any human being with a keen eye for football would have known we need a physical presence up front. |

Where will we get our aerial threat from up front against the Argentine CB's

If I was Gernot Rohr, my team talk tomorrow will be simple and a bit unorthodox. I'd simply slot in a DVD of Atlanta 96 gold medal match between Ngr/ Arg, let the players see how their predecessors dismantled a star studded Argentina team. I forsee a scenerio where the players will be buzzing and psyched up to go create their own history. (I can't even imagine the electric atmosphere in camp while the players are watching and screaming at the top of their voice as the goals fly in). The boys need to know they can do it, their predecessors did it in the past, 7 months ago, they won Argentina. They must write their own script and play as protagonists.
A well psyched up and buzzing Nigerian team with an extra spring in their legs can certainly tear this fragile Argentine team to pieces in 60 mins.
If they walk into the pitch with fear, respect and honor for Argentina, it will be bye bye to Baghdad. |

forgiveness: I no longer find it funny. I think It has to stop.
We have to support whosoever is selected now. Afterall, the 'quota system' player dey criticized was the hero for us. Who knows if Ighalo will be the hero tomorrow. It's not as if Ighalo have yakubued a tap in or any other easy chance for that matter. I still don't understand why they think Ighalo is the worst performer in the team. Maybe some of us haven't read the memo. Although I'd be silly not think the whole attack is not agenda driven. |

I'm watching Colombia vs Poland and from what I see, Colombia should have nothing less than 30 - 40k fans inside the stadium. Peru is reported to have as much as 40k fans in Russia. How do these South Americans do this? It's not as if Peru and Colombia are competing for the world cup. How can one continent be this football mad? |

komekn: What you need to understand the majority of contributors fall into the category of fanatical fans. Seeing things only one sided.
Iwobi does not backtrack with any real conviction and when he plays on the wing he lacks discipline and drifts to the middle. So his wing play is very suspect.
The question ❓ we fail to answer what did the combination of KC and Musa produce.
What I saw was KC buzzing around but not sure what level of end product and or indeed what major impact on the game he was having. Pressing he pressed but didnt really threaten the CB'S of Iceland in that game. Didn't see any aerial or physical threat from him as well.
What I did notice was far more combination play with Musa and Ighalo and a greater impact on the game with his hold up play and goal threat. What they lack in combination, they might make up with the chaos factor their running and movement might bring. Although I have the feeling Rohr might want to pull of a surprise by starting Simy Nwankwo. The ball needs to stick in the Argentine final 3rd for our defenders to have a breather because I suspect they will be very busy. |

tbaba1234: That is interesting. I do not see Iceland beating Croatia with 2 unreplied goals. In the Qualifiers, they defended and scored the odd goal.
Good thing, it is in our own hands. The caveat is that Croatia may rest about 5-6 of their regulars, recall they have sent Kalinic home, so they are already a player short . A highly motivated Iceland might fancy their chances against the Croatian second string. I think that's the reason Mikel obi complained. |

tbaba1234: Is it not goal difference, head to head and goals scored in that order? Goals scored comes before head to head. I think FIFA want to encourage teams to play positive football and score lots of goals. |

I hate to say this, but I think people are over stating this Musa/Iheanacho combo. The truth is that they still have a lot of work to do when it comes to their combination play, because in the last game, they actually hardly found each other with connecting passes, through balls or 1-2s. (see Dwight York, Andy Cole partnership) Yes, we scored 2 goals but it was down to individual endeavor more than great combination play between those 2. Hopefully, the coaching crew work on those with their combinations if that's the way to go. |

komekn: England flogged Panama 6-1
It's on this forum that it was stated Kane is over hyped by quite a few.
The England team is rubbish, English players are not good just media hype .
Well I wonder what they will say now. Kane is doing well to pad up his goal stats against weak sides. Although, I think England are in for a jolt of quality shake when they face a half decent team next round |
