RabbiDoracle: Do you think there will be devaluation?
There is QE in EU area. Fed has stopped rate hike. All developed economies will soon start printing money again. Where the money go go? Fixed income instruments in Nigeria just saw small part of that and yields are dropping.
The whole world will be awashed with liquidity soon. These will be used to bid up prices everywhere in the world and after that comes the bursting of the major bubble.
By then I go dey watch people for TV. Lol. Where will you put your money in when all this drama sets in? |

Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GonFreecss1: 11:48am On Apr 04, 2019 |
Mcy56: No, it doesnt. To me it only means that people are showing interest and seeing bargains. If increased volume persists, dumping will reduce and reversal may be seen.............thats how I normally see it anyway. Not increased volume where bid power is stronger than offer power at least. Remember when people sell it's available bids they sell to? It's not that people were magically waiting and they sold to them. They just set their bids and waited, so when offer keeps increasing and people keep dumping at market price to bids, with increasing volume you should be very afraid. The increase in volume in this scenario is not people running to buy, it's already set bids. Always remember that. |

mendes911: At this point, it's only those FPI that knows what will bring them back. We can only speculate. Zenith once traded below N9.00 (very low prices) and they are still the one's that crashed the price. Lets keep watching though, but while watching we need to know when and where to take position before we go turn Aaron at the end of the day. I understand. I have been wary about increased subscription in fixed income, excess liquidity and falling fixed income yields. Yet NSE is still going down, that is a big red flag. I might be wrong though, but we shall see. Companies have paid 20%+ dividend yields before, so it can definitely happen again. |

Mcy56: Amen. Dont mind Chibuking, he already bought Zenith. You know one thing that used to serve as encouragement to me is if there are high volumes exchanging hands during bear. If the volume is nothing to write home about when prices are falling, then that scares me. I think falling prices with increased volume should scare you more. |

RabbiDoracle: We have always said it here and on SMN about the bingo that follows the pot belly man.
Bingo said the reason it follows a potbelly man is that if he doesn't poo, he will vomit.
People have been warned to invest in stocks that consistently pay dividends. İf e no vomit(share appreciation), e must poo(dividends).
Those who understand are relaxed. This man. Powerful insights as usual. |

Insecurity, I agree. But whether there will be policy flipflops, it is a constant and that will not stop FPİ/investors. Of course when prices drop so low and becomes so ridiculous, FPI will come. |

That is my predicament also despite being a member of the bonanza gang.
Now, the bonanza is here but I had earlier invested (and therefore taken a hit) I actually gave advice on what people should do sometimes back... I hope some people took the advice. |

locodemy: The way I see this market now,the only thing that can stop the bleeding is releasing of Q1 results.
Maybe the unhealthy policies might be eradicated before half year results.
Since yesterday,I have not been myself due to excessive money I have put into this market hoping for a better return in the nearby future. Now my business is shaking seriously as a result of this action.
I know other people here are having similar issues now unless those who have mouth and no portfolio.
Imagine Transcorp coming back to #1,zenith #18,Fcmb #1.50. And may even go below these prices if no intervention.I think I will be going off from the forum from now until my portfolio is back again. Sorry about that boss. From the little I know of your portfolio (you are the Zenith bank guy right?), you will definitely be alright. That is why I tell people to always delay gratification. I will be waiting to buy some shares at ridiculous prices though, let's see what happens. |

maishai: Could the bear market be as a result of exxon announcing plans to leave Nigeria........ Nope. Exxon is just part of the symptoms. Many companies have been leaving for a while. GSK plans to sell their plants, Accenture is leaving. The Nigerian economy is sick due to unhealthy policies, this companies leaving and the NSE going down is just a symptom. |

Strangers101: A mutual fund is more likely to grow your investment at a rate far exceeding inflation. However, mutual funds can also lose value.
SOLUTION Having known the two concepts, I would rather advise you that instead of picking either mutual funds or Treasury bills absolutely with all your investable assets, a mix of both may be a good choice and could help you find the ideal compromise between risk and return. No need for this long story, you actually missed the point. You should know the Mutual fund we are talking about is the low risk one called Money market fund. Saying Money market fund is more risky than Treasury bills is like saying Equity mutual funds is more risky than buying Equities. |

I love FBN because of their high rate and sincerity with their interest but their redemption is not encouraging....
If you need your money just be rest assured you will get it two days after the application for redemption It's already in their terms and conditions that it's 3-5 working days. So no need complaining. If you want something faster, you can always use Axa Mansard, Stanbic or United Capital. |

eddyakinrinde: As of today, with my calculation, United capital pd 751naira on 2m. That's like 13.68 if I get the calculation right. I love United capital with the way they make it so easy to fund account to top up and thereafter place subscription. They send email notification every time. But recently like a week now its like they are doing one abracadabra with their daily interest payment. They don't stick to a specific time of the day when they credit their payment. Ystday they might do it in the morning as early as 7:30am, today they do it around 12pm, and another day they might not do it until 8pm. Sometimes they even do it in the night 12 or 1 am. So if one is not careful there might be days they might skip unnoticed. This is quite true. |
