​The Morning Show on Arise News witnessed a dramatic moment when Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, declined to take questions from co-anchor Rufai Oseni.

​A section of the online media has framed the station's decision to discontinue the interview as 'a blow to Olayinka'.

​It was not.

​This was a spokesperson taking a decisive stance live on air against being subjected to an anchor who had previously engaged him in a antagonistic manner.

Does a guest have the right to choose whom to engage with ? Absolutely.

​A guest appearing on radio, television or print media retains the ultimate right to determine where and with whom they engage.

When an interviewer is widely perceived as combative, partisan or has the reputation of undermining guests rather than facilitating constructive dialogue, public figures and their representatives are fully within their rights to refuse questioning from that specific individual or to decline the platform altogether.

I just want everyone here to enlighten the public on their rights.

First, the fear you have, that Islam will take over in the SW, is unfounded, for reasons I've stared in previous posts in this thread so won't repeat.

If you go to the North you'd find lots of young kids attending Arabic schools and being skillless almanjeri. When these skillless almanjeri become adults, they have no education (at least not education that's useful in most of Nigeria and a lot of the world), and no skills, yet must eat, so will resort to banditry to feed themselves.

Skilling them will reduce their need for banditry, and education will teach them to read the Quran in languages they can understand so they are not so easily fooled by those who trap them as ignorant naked slaves in the Garden of Eden while depriving them of the fruits of knowledge.

Now, I know you'd read the above and think only Muslims are uneducated almanjeri, but I'll have you consider that most Nigerian schools are almanjeri level, if a world scale is used. So if we really want to solve our religious disharmony, we should revise our education system so children are taught to question more and science starts from nursery.

When people have a source of food they can work for with their own sweat they'll be too busy eating and too full than to go kill their neighbours and their neighbours' gods.
