Looking at this comment now makes me teary. Indeed God is a master planner of our future. A lot has happened these few years. The exposure and experience i gathered these few years has refined and shaped me into becoming a better person. I thank God for the man i am today.

At the time i posted this comment, i was at the lowest point of my life as I lost a golden opportunity of becoming a lecturer in one of the renowned federal university, owed 18months house rent, had a jobless father and a sick mom (who's late now) and was Jobless at the same time. But i thank God for his grace and the resilience he gave me.

I applied to many jobs, updated and scrutinized my CV but none was forthcoming. I wrote aptitude tests, interviewed with big schools and top organizations yet i wasn't shown the light. The funny but unfortunate experiences i had during this search were enough to make me pull out but i stood still. I don't know how i did it, it was just God.

My dear friends, consistency is key. Keep on doing what you know how to do best whilst seeking knowledge as well. Never relent on your efforts because one day your light will shine. Personal development is also of utmost necessity. Teaching is a passion which requires some set skills to stand out. At that point where you hit the rocks, it is only the passion and the burning zeal that keeps you going.

Indeed i am a product of hardwork and GRACE. Who would have told me then that i will be teaching in an international school now taking IGCSE and Checkpoint courses. God be praised!

Although, i may not be at my peak at the moment but i am far better than what i used to be and that's PROGRESS. I hope this will uplift a soul here, thanks.

I got an invitation to interview after applying by mail

You are invited for an interview at Rochester Schools, plot 5 doyin estate chevron road satellite town Lagos.

This interview is scheduled for 25th June 2020. Please, can anyone give me information about Rochester School which includes:

* The philosophy that governs their conducts,
* Interview style (written test, oral),
* Salary range,
* And how their members of staff is been treated.

I look forward to hearing from you all. Thank you

What did you apply for?
I could remember sometime i went there for an interview, i applied as a Science teacher to the secondary school but it turned out that they needed a science teacher who will teach the primary school and so i rejected the offer because i can't cope with primary school children since i haven't taught their level before. I had to be honest and the director appreciated it.

Well about salary, i was told 35k. I don't know if they have changed it now.

Romance / Re: My Experience With A Lady I Met by Gpopsicle(m): 5:37pm On Apr 14, 2020
johnmba:
I will try and make it brief.

I met a lady on Tuesday 2 weeks before the lockdown in an office. We exchanged pleasantries and she gave me her number. I called her later in the evening to check up on her.

On Saturday that same week, I put a call to her around 7am to find out if we can meet later in the day, She agreed. Around 4pm I called again but she said she is tired and needed to rest. She advised me to do like. I agreed and told her am going to shoprite to pick one or two things before going home but to my surprise she said ok can I meet you there?...

For 2 seconds I was shocked and asked her to come. trust me I know what I was doing. While at shoprite I dodged her calls and called her when I was on my way home.

I thought she has given up but she said she will wait for me at one junction. Again i agreed but on getting there I met her at one boutique. She said want to pick up some clothes from there. I said to myself can you imagine this girl. I told her to go on and select while I wait outside. After awhile I told her am going and I entered my car and zoom off.

Did I do anything wrong as some people said I was wicked.

Oga you did the right thing. She's just interested in your money. Very lazy human being..tueeeh

It is so obvious she doesn't love you. She is taking advantage of your emotions. You give her unnecessary attention and this will do you no good. Cut every ties with her. I know it will be kinda difficult but that's the best thing to do in order to be emotionally sane. For God's sake, you're man and stop being mushy and weak. Take charge of your emotions and walk away.

Romance / Re: Another Man Is After My Girlfriend by Gpopsicle(m): 8:24pm On Dec 29, 2019
[quote author=Brunosamel post=85324750]Hello guys, I have been worried about this issue, I just graduated recently and am at the peak of my career trying to shape up my life for the better future, my girlfriend, someone that I have been dating for the for the past 6 months... we have so much in common and built our relationships with love and trust... the journey wasn't easy but we were able to settle our differences and understand each other....

Recently she met a childhood friend whom she had a crush on when growing up, but the guy never asked her asked to be his girlfriend never said anything to her cuz he saw her as a small girl then..
The guys is into business and has quite established himself... last 2 months the guy asked her out and she told me about it cuz she needed my permission whether she should go or not and I said okay she can but it will only be first and last time she will go out with him...

To cut the story short, last night I called her line and she was on another call for more that 30 minutes.... I confronted her about it and she started crying was begging me that she was sorry and that the guy is really disturbing her....... asking her to give him a chance, to the extent that she should leave me for him, he will give her anytime and even train in the university.... she told the guy she can't leave her boyfriend becuz she loves me so much.... I was dumbfounded and I don't even know what to do about it cuz I don't have the resources (money) at this moment

Relationships gurus what do you think about my situation I need your opinion and suggestions cuz I love this girl so much and want to settle down with her cuz she suffered with me and I suffered with her.... say what ever you want to but just be brutal honest with me....

[quote]

First and foremost, how old is she? I think you should let her be now that you guys haven't gone far in the relationship. In my honest opinion, it will be unfair to hold her back since you don't have the resources to do the needful(i.e wife her). I will advise that you focus on yourself since you said you're at the peak of your career. You don't need to give room for distraction.

Let me tell you the bitter truth, from the look of things knowing fully well how feeble minded ladies can be, she 'may' finally end up with the new guy. The earlier you accepted fate and moved on the better

Oga he just want to propose, after that introduction I guess then marriage plans.

Why should I inform my pastor I want to propose to a lady,if it's about introduction or marriage plans,I agree with but any thing apart from that ,he doesn't have any right to.

The pastor is just over reacting,he should have save them from embarrassment and allow them do their thing then call them later.

The pastor na old school abeg.

God bless you sir, you just spoke my mind. I have read through comments and seen that people are blaming the guy for not letting the pastor(father) know.

There is nothing wrong with what the guy did by proposing to his heart rob. Secondly, he mustn't inform the pastor about his plans of proposing. Thirdly i think after proposal, it is the daughter who would inform her parents about the guy and then the needful would be done.

I was in church today and pastor said everyone should sow a new year seed on the 1st of January. He said the seed must be in a very robust envelope. Where I got angry was, he cautioned his members to be sure they sow the seed before embarking on their Christmas holiday trip. That he doesn’t want stories where the money that was supposed to be used to sow the seed was given to mama, sister, uncle, brother in the village to buy tomatoes

My girlfriend and I have being together for almost three years now. We've had all the moments the good ,the bad and the ugly.

But recently she met a guy who asked her out, she refused his advances but the guy and her spend so much time on calls and chatting which I don't really like.

I've talked to her so many times about it but if she listens for a week the next week they are back in business.

Last week we were chatting and she just went offline I tried calling her to know what's up only for her number to be busy for like 20 mins. When she came back online and I told her she said she wasn't on call with anyone.

When I probed her further she said she wanted a two weeks break that I complain too much and I don't trust her.

I apologized to her so peace could reign but since then I've started losing interest in her.

My brother run for your life..speaking from experience.

Through prayers or? Tell me pls

For every new phase in life there is a new challenge to overcome. Like i said, devising a solution to your issue is a practical and pragmatic step which must be taken. Also do not forget the place of prayer. In summary i took practical and logical steps which were backed up with prayers. Never you think of suicide as an option, God help you.

I'm kinda facing some challenges in my family which has been making me think and causing me sleepless nights.

I'm really depressed and my BP seems to be on the rise(I'm feeling it). Please someone should say something encouraging to me. I'm just tired

I'm still in my early 20s but look at what am facing

My brother whatever challenge you're facing, don't allow it get to you. You're still too young for Bp related issues. Always relax your nerves and know that there is always a solution to any challenge. My dear if i start telling you my story, you will know that yours is just a minor case. However in all of this, i stood strong and was able to withstand the test of time. There is no one who's free of problems. Embrace the moment and think less of it. Rather than getting yourself worried, device a solution. God keep you for us.

Bro the response u are getting from nairaland is not enough to help you.

My advice:
Meet a layer in person and tell him this.
If it demands the lawyer to write letter, he should write and also ask him if you should honor the invitation.

And again, since there is no written document, please deny that nothing like that was told to you, since your employer no get any evidence.
Just deny, I repeat again, deny that he didn't told you anything like given notice before resigning.

You know as Nigeria be; Poor man no get right for Naija, na only the rich know there right.

Because as it stands, if you disobey the invitation and later it was found that you are not guilty, they will now lay hold on disobeying invitation, carry one name give am, as crime wey you commit. And use that one against you.

So gently meet a lawyer in person for advice.

Thanks sir

Let me quickly add to this if its not too late. Except you will have to deny the statement that he told you about the notice period and the conditions that comes with it then you will be fine. The reason is that, they can argue that contract does not have to been written for it to be binding. It can be formed orally and you being there working and earning salary showed there is a contract. So, if you admit that he told you and you accepted to work there, then be quick to chip in that he also told you that you will forfeit one month salary in lieu which is what you have done. But if you have a lawyer friend that can go on your behalf, the matter will be buried at once.

Thanks for your input

Guys, i need your advice on this. In my former place of work, i wasn't given any appointment letter but was just told to start. Also i was told by the boss that i would have to give them two months notice else i forfeit my one month salary before leaving.

Recently i left without the two months notice because my new place needed my services urgently. Now my boss has issued a letter to me stating that i breached the agreement. My question is, does he have any right to sue me? Afterall there was no legal binding between us, moreover i have forfeited my one month salary with him. Lawyers in the house i need your input on this. Thanks
