Device has no name? No specs? And if it's a Redmi series as can be seen, all I can is shocked, unless the specs of course is not the conventional.

One thing you need to realize is that you actually have little option if they insist that you would pay 500 because you can't fight them even if you know that the amount is 200 naira.

The money in question is not much though.
You can fight them and even end up paying nothing so long it's not weighing up to 500g. The fraud is likely not from the Oga at the top.

Is it a must for me to root to be able to use Gcam on my redmi note 4X and is there any other camera app for it
No other cameras app beats Gcam, you can get it working without root by flashing TWRP recovery.

I didn't generalized anything neither have I done any special experiment, I didn't even intend to say all this things before not until I what the other guy said 1st. The thing is this things are one of the reasons why this thread was created, why is it some people are always of negative opinion whenever a new user show interest in such?
Issokay, let's move on.

That's one of the problems of Nigerian... Always afraid to take risk just because of the FAILURE. May be we have different mindset anyway like someone like always want to learn and test every new thing out there same as some other people but there will always be some antagonist that do everything to sha make sure that you no do am
As u use ur device do experiment, no body dey vex for u na. D problem once again bsay u easily generalise. Who nr know now go think say na only u dey take risk, but if everybody open mouth talk wetin dem don do with their devices here u sef go surprise. Abeg concerning risks , I get one new investment wen I one embark on, hope u ready to risk ur life savings there?

Just do whatever you like with your device without trying to make others look bad or as if they are in the dark.

As in ehen! Remember the days of always having a copy of Titanium Backup always ready on memory card, steady jumping from one latest cooked stuff to another. I didn't even know that modules still existed until I recently stumbled on a YouTube video talking about it.
I really thank Xiaomi for Mi Mover sha, a new phone is setup & running in a blink of an eye. In fact with the continuous introduction of "in those days" mods as standard features in latest versions of Android by Google & OEMs, I predict that very soon those XDA boys will run out of modding ideas coz Pure Android is really catching up.
D last time I just say make I do NANDROID backup, I almost vex go sleep leave am, person nr patient again.

You are just reaching here, an average person do not care about custom ROMS so long they are enjoying it, am very sure you will still get to a point in your life that you wouldn't even think about rooting your phone again, na just to use am like that. It has happened to most of us.

Mhen, this life is nothing.

I lost my uncle today.

The one who remembered that as a fresh graduate some years ago, I would need cash in pocket and took the responsibility of ensuring that I never went hungry.

The one who made me realize that as a man, I was better off hussling and fending for myself rather than depending on somebody.

The one whose push and shove made me develop the hussling spirit to become the man that I am today.

His death has really shattered my spirit. cry cry
Sorry for the loss bro, stay strong. That's life, just yesterday you were in joyful mood, but today it's something else. Vanity indeed is everything, let's leave our mark with the opportunity God has given us.

So many don't really have options or maybe they don't multi-task that much. My own thing is that there's absolutely nothing wrong with using custom as the way people always make it to look like here.
Everyone has options, the way it's sounding it's as if you enjoy your device more than those on miui. By multitask you mean? Most persons don't need over 10 apps opened simultaneously. If Miui is bad why is this thread this trendy? Why does virtually every new user of Xiaomi stick with Xiaomi? It's definitely because of the sweet mix of miui with a solid hardware. The credit goes to Miui not any custom rom out there. If I may ask, how many skinned Android fare better than miui, because by my unfounded estimate, over 75% of Android users use Skinned Android .

U are mixing things up... Nobody is discouraging anyone from using his or her phone for adventure. Custom ROM is cool (it is even not perfect), that doesn't nullify the fact that a newbie can get his phone bricked, even after taking time to read. It's just a disclaimer, don't take it as if some people mandated it on this thread that u shouldn't flash Ur phone anyone.

Am sure you ain't a newbie here, there were there when every new member that joined the thread back then tot if they don't root and flash their Xiaomi phones they can't enjoy it. This notion was built up in them cos of the way most gurus were discussing about rooting and flashing, making them being mislead.

Rem, it's ur phone, u are free to do whatever u want to do with it.

No offence meant. Thank you....

what is this one saying now? Countless white men, root there devices n explore it, I've been on xda for some years now and the bulk of developers there are whites, even Indians are now gaining grounds in android development. You can't just generalize pple based on their skin color or where they come from. It's just wrong
Read again, d guy use the word AVERAGE, which is very true. That average number is easily a vast majority in any country.

My point is that other members should not discouraged anyone that is trying to root and flash custom rom on there phone. An average person want choose to use there phone the way it come because they don't know anything about custom rom and its advantages.

I use to see some annoying ads in my phone file manager when I'm still using miui dev rom, my phone lags alot with crappy SOT but the rest is history now since I flash miuipro
The thing b say many ppl too dey loud mouthed after rooting, like say na dem b first to root or flash custom roms. Even some of the issues u complain of miui nr dey do may people. The way some persons dey talk, e come blike say nr b miui we dey use too.
