Yes, unless you want to root and flash with a custom recovery like TWRP.

Different tastes, there are some nice themes on chinese rom you can't find on Global roms .

If you are planning to get Mi Max 3, kindly hold on if u dont want the Chinese version, the Global Rom being sold now has network issues and it drops calls, its a Fake Rom installed by sellers. There is no Official Global version available yet.

So before una go start to dey complain say Xiaomi dis , max3 dat.

If you cannot use the Official Chinese Rom version, av a little patience for the Official Global version to be released.

Naxo, or na to use the Chinese rom and attempt the bootloader unlock, then wait for the usual 15 days to unlock, then anytime global rom comes out you flash easily with fastboot if you wish to switch to Global rom.

Should be a bug then, will be fixed via OTA.

It's not a memory issue, even 1gig ram Redmi 2 doesn't experience such. It is compatibility issues with some new themes, with time such should be fixed by developers. Same issue you experience happen with this them on a Redmi note 5 here.

I think anything xiaomi is addictive be it the xiaomi thread on nairaland or any xiaomi phones/product I'm talking from experience so I'm using this medium to advice everyone here to thread with caution so as not to fall a 'victim' below are my experiences on two different occasions 1. I remember when I couldn't come online for some days I had to read back over 30pages so as to keep up to date on the happenings here cos I just couldn't move on. 2. I was lucky to sell my note 2 at a very good price and was hoping to quickly get a used note 4x in the interim but couldn't. the person that bought the phone kept disturbing my life to hand over the phone to him after paying cash but I bluntly told him that if I don't get a replacement after the one week grace he gave to me that I will return his money. So here am I back to my note 2 after returning his money simply because I couldn't get a replacement. Story of my life which I don't regret!

2. i have not flashed the Oreo yet but if you want to you need to unlock your phone first, get twrp to flash oreo

It's strange to hear that your phone did not come with Oreo as all Redmi note 5 AI comes with Oreo out of the box. Can you upload your about phone to confirm? Also, you don't need to unlock bootloader or flash TWRP to get your device updated if need be.

It's about the camera. I did explain to her the AI has more bands and supports most of our 4G networks. I've been able to quell her thirst for the Pro, so she'll be getting the AI, hopefully..

There are comparison videos between both phones on YouTube, tell her to watch .

The 'PRO' Nigerian factor! Change the name of Mi 6x to Mi 6 pro and increase the price, many Nigerians go likely buy am more expensive than the Mi 6 .

Bros, I don't have time to argue with you. Networks on LTE band 20 won't work on those Chinese version. That's my point. Smile - band 20, MTN - band 7, 20. Point it out to your buyers so they know what they are buying. That's all.

The Redmi note 5 is the best of them all. The Mi A2 lite should be next because of its balance of huge battery and separate SD card slot but note it's stock Android. If you don't like stock Android then move on. The Redmi S2 also has a separate SD card slot but with 3000mah battery, while the Redmi 5 plus has a hybrid SIM slot ( also the Redmi note 5) with a large 4000mah battery.
If your priority is big battery plus separate SD card slot and you don't like stock Android, then consider the Redmi 6 pro.

We have always told newbies to ask about the credibility of sellers here before patronising them, which many have complies with. So far so good, we have been good with this, anyone who really wants to entrust his/ her money to a total stranger will do well to exercise some safety measures, the simplest being just 'asking' question here.

Maybe your phone is Chinese version, check the carton if there are Chinese characters.
