I have always wondered why we call the Chinese version of redmi note 5 Global Rom when 'rom' isn't a hardware but the software OS that has been flashed into the phone; same software that global version runs on. Should we then begin to call the global version global rom?

If you know the history of Xiaomi you'll leave it that way. Those days you won't even find a phone with Global version on AliExpress and other sites, all phones came with the Chinese rom from factory. Some sharp sellers then modified the Chinese rom to suit users outside China and even called it Global rom instead of Shop rom ( if you fall into this there's no update for you. Users of Mi 2, Mi 3, Redmi note 2, Redmi 3 and co can relate to this; many times phone will be unstable). Later on when Xiaomi eventually released the Global rom for such devices, the need to differentiate Global rom and Shop rom became more imperative. Recently Xiaomi has expanded and also now release phones with Global rom out of the box ( with additional LTE bands of course for such markets), hence the need for a proper naming to differentiate it from others; the GLOBAL VERSION moniker is an appropriate choice here . This epistle too long jare, I know of some peeps who are still stuck on Miui 6 because of some sellers then advertised shop roms as official Global roms simply because they installed Google play store on it. We should all take note of these naming schemes, they can be useful tools for resolving disputes

That's photography na, when you move before taking a pics it means you are moving out of focus, image will be blurred. It's like you trying to read the letters on a very shaky billboard, can you? .

Try this toolkit, easiest way so far but selective sometimes. Take note, you must flash dm Verity the moment your phone boots to TWRP before rebooting your phone. This is to avoid bootloop.

You don't need to apply any more, just download the unlock tool and attempt to unlock the phone. BTW, you use antivirus apps?

actually the picture quality has been reduced, poco beat mi A2 and one Plus 6 in some aspect, and the verdict by the guy making the review is that when it comes to Zoomed pictures oneplus 6 has more details due to its 16mp and that's the only edge one plus 6 has over poco f1, the camera review is on YouTube I increased the video quality to 1080p, Poco is a beast, the droid killed A2 completely and if am to judge I prefer the camera to oneplus 6, just my opinion lol, make the global launch sharp sharp o my note 4x Don try, can't believe I just remove mi max 3 from my priority lol

Yeah, just watched the video, the Oneplus is better in some lowlight shots ( will of course be better in extremely low light), it also has better details especially with selfies, and it's the choice for those who love video recording. The Poco actually is performs unbelievably for such price, waiting for more reviews.

Poco is good, but this your pics is subjective na, what's the verdict, Poco or Oneplus 6 in terms of camera? I think the Oneplus still should be the overall better camera.

Try again, maximum waiting time is 3 days to unlock note 4 and other older devices.

Get the Redmi note 5 and relax, if you are on a tight budget then get either the Redmi 5 plus or Redmi 5.

Battery is almost like the note 4, of course the nire4 is slightly better.

There's no problem, 'other ' are files contained in Ucweb, camera, screenshot, mi drop, etc. You can enter each of those folders and delete whatever you want. The attached screenshots are from Redmi note 4 and note 5 .

There's no way themes and location affect picture quality you don't need help actually. So many things affected picture quality even ehn using DSLR. If the weather is cloudy, you'll get a poorer image when compared to bright sunny weathers. You mind sharing some shots here?

Depends on where you are coming from, whether flagship or top mid range. Generally mid range phones don't do well in low light conditions. As for the day light pics, don't know why you are not impressed, maybe you over estimated it. But trust me, no device beats it camera wise at same price range.

Your best bet is to use another file manager to find the large files on your device. You can use "ES File explorer" for this purpose.

I just saw something, redmi 5 plus (called note 5 in India) redmi note 5 pro (china) and redmi note 5 ai and redmi note 5?? Please which ones can be shipped to Nigeria? Which is which? And excluding sd 625 on 5 plus what are the other differences And gsmarena are confusing me.

Apart from the difference processors, Redmi note 5 (China) has a much much better dual rear cameras placed at the top left corner, while the Redmi 5 plus has just a single real cameras placed at the middle. This is enough to differentiate both.
