You did it wrongly, it's PERMISSIONS - PERMISSIONS - SMS. not permissions - other permissions.

Go to themes, then tap the blue arrow first followed by the green according to the screenshot.

He's right, always have magisk uninstall file in case anything goes wrong, you simply use it to uninstall magisk without losing anything.

Am sure that particular magisk module is not compatible with your phone. What's the module?

You have to ensure your password is a combination of alphabets and numbers. You can just attach the number 1 to the password you intend to use.
