Please House, Do Uni's verify transcripts?? I mean do they call your school for confirmation if you're a genuine student and your transcript is genuine as well? Thanks. |

@Amefrica, its not all about cheap tuition schools, academic quality is also important. Some people on here got denied because of the type of schools they applied to. some uni's are more of a diploma mill than a four years college. There are lots of schools with same low tuition fees and high rank. I will also say applying to 4 schools is kinda much, you'll only enroll in one of them and there's no way the VO will know how many schools you applied to, even if you apply to only one you can tell the VO you applied to 3 schools and you got 2 admit. Looking at the financial aspect, you'll send your application documents to all the four schools and also pay a non-refundable admission fee, which makes your expenses more. Make sure you scatter that TOEFL, if na Harvard sef, dem go admit you  cheers bro. |

bigfrancis021: My cousin going for her undergraduate studies in pharmacy at Texas State University just got granted her visa today at the lagos embassy! She had gone earlier to the Abuja embassy and got denied. Only to go to the Lagos embassy and got her visa. This is good news.Congrats to your cousin! |

Please house, i want to know if standardized test score can determine chances of getting a visa. I'm just an average student and 4yrs college is expensive, im thinking if i don't get a schorlaship with my test score, i'll transfer to a Community College. This is why i'll advice you search for schools now and know which one your school accept, some school accept only TOEFL, some only SAT and some requires both, but i suggest you write both test to be on a safer side. |

I don't understand the 120days stuffAmefrica, i've been reading all your post, i just want to contribute too. I'm also a prospective UG planning for 2014 Spring semester. If you can take the time and read thru from part1 to the current part, you'll find all the answers to your questions. I was once a tyro but with the help of everyone in the house, i've gained some knowledge about this student visa thing...i ask silly questions but the house always take their time to answer me (thanks to imperiouxx and anthonymighty). Now, your first move should be registering for SAT& TOEFL(pls study hard for good score and you'll be eligible for schorlaship and it will also ease your sponsor of paying more) and make google as the homepage on your browser to start searching for schools, and this depends on your preference like academic quality, location, schorlaship, aids and grants, study abroad and stuffs. I noticed you emphasized on staying in Minnesota cause of your sponsor. Bro , you dont have to limit yourself to one state. You can be in another State and your sponsor can still render all the assistance you need. Your family don 't have to be a millionaire before you study in the US even thou it cost a fortune. Good you even have a sponsor and also forget about going to the State this year cause all applications have closed, prepare yourself for Spring or Fall 2014...... all you have to do now is register for the standardized test, search for schools and prepare your admission packet. Take your mind off the 120 days rule for now, e no consine u. Do things one at a time.... I will stop my babbling here. Thanks. |
