Hello everyone,

Nairaland has helped me in the past while trying to get a UK student visa for myself, so I'm here for an advise concerning my brother who wants to come to the UK with a visiting visa to attend my wedding.

Here is the background of the whole situation.

My brother first applied for UK visiting visa in 2008 to visit our mother (who is a British Citizen) and he was refused even though he was studying at the time in Nigeria.

He applied again for UK visiting visa in 2012, and he was again refused stating reasons for the refusal was because he does not have any ties back in Nigeria but then he was doing his Youth Service.

In 2017, our mother thought it was best for him to come for his Masters in the UK. Unfortunately, he was again refused on grounds that he was not a genuine student.
We challenged the UKVI's decision via a Judicial Review through a dodgy Nigerian lawyer and the appeal was refused.

So back to my main reason for coming to this great forum.
My wedding will be in April 2020 and I will like my brother to be at my wedding in the UK. I will also be providing my wedding invite to him for his application.

He had started working in November 2019 and by the time he will be applying he would have only spent 5 Months in his present employment.
Either my mum or myself will be sending him an invitation letter and accommodation will not be a problem for him likewise financial sustainability.

So I just want an advise from the good people in this forum what are my brother's chances of getting a visiting visa if he put in an application around 2nd of April 2020.

Can someone please advice me on this.

@justwise

How much is ur brother's salary ?

If you're an adult there is no reason why you would need a consent letter from your parents.

Am an adult. Just asked that so they will know I still have family members left in Nigeria when I travel.

Good morning house. My application form has been filled and submitted online but still waiting to get a free date at Ikeja. I put 38k as my monthly expenses out of 200k I earn monthly leaving me with 162k in a month. My total cost for the trip is £650 as my friend will provide Accommodation, Feeding and Transportation for my 10days visit. I also explained the 810k I got from my property through my Estate Agent which was paid into my account from his corporate account and the Power of Attorney including the Tenancy Agreement will also be submitted with my application. Please do i need my parents to write a consent letter as I am single and still living with them? Thanks.

Good morning all. So am about to submit my application. Please I want to ask a question..... I got employed in my current place of work in 2018 but I bought my land in 2015 and finished building on it in 2018. Hope the ECO won't say my current employment started in 2018 and where did I got money to buy land in the year 2015. Am asking this because they are funny at times and you know there is no space in the form that asked about our previous employment. Thank you.

Hello house, I wanted to ask the section under income and other savings, total amount you get in a year, it is salary + investments? Or investment only thanks
Pls @justwise, @Giselle237 help

That question only applies to those that have other income apart from their salary. So you will state the total amount you get in a year on that particular income apart from your salary.

Flight reservation is just to show the ECO an idea of the price. Reservations last between 24 to 48 hours, it doesn’t matter.. all you need is to submit it notwithstanding ’valid’ date
You can get on travelstart.ng, wakanow, egypt air, turkish airlines etc for free
They will email to u.. simply attach to your application.

Please can flight reservation be made like a month to biometrics / Submission date or it must be made close to submission date?

. they know this coverup style of receipt... most times ‘audio receipt’ to cover up money lodgement.
Pls advise him.. it’s best he registers his business, get the required documents, build up his profile, pay himself monthly salary as people keep advising here, have enough money to fund a vacation, have enough money to be left even after assumed vacation budget will be deducted and then try to prove to the ECO he is not a prospective overstayer.. and no rushing.. not after 2months he go fly to embassy..

Thanks. Can he also issue himself payslip because he is the owner of the business? He also has about 4 staff he is paying. He will go and do the company registration soon.

@Aydotbenz False representation... were you serving a ban? If yes.
I’ll advice you don’t waste your money except it’s a different kind of visa to the UK you are applying for.
If it’s a UK tourist visa, save ur money and look at other countries. It’s almost as if no ECO wants to be the one to approve a visit visa of someone their colleague found to have been deceitful while using fake documents in the past, so na so so story they will be giving you every time you apply. This is what I have noticed

Are you saying if someone was refused based on false representation he can still apply for another type of visa?

Since your friend will be accommodating you £650 should take care of ticket which the only thing you will be spending money on.

Submit documents to support that 810K because it will help your application as an additional income.

Can you extend that to 2wks holiday rather than 6days?

Okay sir. Thanks for your response. So is £700 okay to be stated as my cost for the trip for the 2 weeks sir without telling them my friend would be contributing or can i say £650 so they won't say £700 is almost 2× of my disposable income of N168k? Because my friend plan to give me £200 to support my trip. Also please are they going to consider my income of 810k I got paid on January 2 for year 2020 rent ( January - December) from my 2-flat property?
