but if your intentions was to flex for ten days then you have to book a return flight that will cover 10+ 14 = 24 which means you are spending 24 days in the UK.
meanwhile your flight might not necessarily be exactly date but that one no matter provided the difference is like 2-6 or even 7 additional days.

Ok. But please I don't understand what you mean by YOUR FLIGHT MIGHT NOT NECESSARILY BE EXACT DATE. Can i book a flight for just 6days if my plan is to stay for 6days?

am actually concerned about those without family or friends who are using hotel reservation as their point of destination.
a whole lot happened in recent week so guys exercise caution oooo. if you are close to airport officials in Lagos you go hear plenty Tori wey no sweet at all. a lady returned with tears on her eyes despite holding a baby ukba denied her entry on the ground that the hotel she booked refuse to guarantee them.
it's a new twist going on now oo.
am still trying to figure out if it was because of the recent increase in Corona virus in UK. or could it be because of the illegal migrant crossing from Calais in France to UK through English channel. I also heard that some areas in UK are currently on lockdown. the thing turf now oo.
well I will be glad if UK authorities can inform hotels about the need to provide extra securities that will monitor guests. as it stand now, most hotels are not aware that they will be the once to monitor tourist .
so make sure you clearify everything with your hotel before booking. no be when you reach airport them begin tell you say our contract agreement does not include security that will monitor you so Dem no go fit accept.

It was stated in my form that I am visiting a friend. Though I stated 10days but I can't stay up to that now because I need to quickly come back to work. My friend will accommodate me. My question is if not spending up to 14days in his house be a problem at the POE? Those you saw at the airport is their visa cancelled?

omo, as you dey book hotel make sure to make payment and confirm from the hotel if they can guarantee your 14 days quarantine.
the new ways ukba are using to deport people nowadays is, they call hotel to get guarantee that a guard will monitor your stay and ensure the 14 days is over before going out. most hotels found it too acculean to bear and so refusing to accept despite collecting payment.
just be careful.

Please what about those visiting family and friends for less than 14days?

People on tourist visa , am advising you not to travel now because 4 person I know and 3 I did not know where deported right at the point of entry last week.
Reasons for their deportation was hotel reservation. They did booked hotel for the intended numbers of days to be spent but ukba at the point of entry are now scrutinizing visitors by contacting the hotels , asking if the hotels can provide a special watch (security) on individuals in order to enforce quarantine. Unfortunately most hotels are not willing to guarantee that and that has been the reasons for refuse entry.
They also believe that hence public gathering are restricted to just 6 persons they doubted how a tourist will be comfortable .
If you have visa please don't go now��������

Self isolating is not a factor of hotel accommodation. Even if you live in England, coming back into the country you need to isolate irrespective of where you intend to stay in the UK. I have colleagues that travelled to different countries on holiday, they were all hurrying back to the UK to beat the self isolation start date.

I can't remember the history with your visa. Usually you can use your visa if it is still valid, but i do not know if you quoted you were coming to the UK for an event that needs to be held around a particular period.

Okay sir. I stated am coming to visit my friend in the UK during my remaining 2020 annual leave in November but the visa validity is from September 2020 to March 2021. That is why I am thinking if I should go early 2021 because our annual leave can be transferred to another year according to what is stated in my appointment letter. But if I decide to go this year I only have 2weeks remaining for this year. Thanks.

Yes, that is correct but the reason for coming to the UK becomes defeated. What is the point of booking a flight, coming to the UK to be bound by the walls of a house for the whole of your stay? You get to POE and you are asked why you have come to the UK, what do you say? They ask you where would you isolate, what do you say?

If you planned to stay in the UK for 6 days, add 14 days to it totalling 20. Your business should be after the 14 day period.

Thanks for your response. I filled 10days in my form but I will be able to only stay for 6days because my leave remains only 2weeks in November for this year. Visa will expire in March 2021. Can I still go in January or early February? I also got this from gov.uk website which says IF YOU ARE STAYING LESS THAN 14DAYS IN THE UK YOU NEED TO SELF ISOLATE FOR THAT PERIOD YOU ARE STAYING FOR.

The 14 days would be at the place u go straight to from the airport. From 48 hours to your arrival in the UK, you ought to have completed the Journey and Contact Details form online. You could provide your uncle's address as where you would be isolating.

Please what about those that are going for less than 14 days. Are we going to be allowed in.

For Turkish Airlines, u dont need Covid-19 test but u must make arrangements for 2 weeks quarantine to show at the UK Airport (LHR) when u arrive. As I'm writing this now, someone is being held at Heathrow Airport since yesterday because she is going for 9 days vacation, tourist and she has no one in the UK, they called the hotel if they can quaranti
ne her and d hotel said no and now they told her that they will cancel her visa.

But what about those of us that are going for like 6 days and have a place to stay?

U will buy dollars and still need to buy pounds to use in the uk. Waste of money as this is a 2 way loss. I learnt the hard way.

Airports have horrible exchange rates. Except you need to exchange some for transport to town, pls wait until you get out of the airport into town. If you must, change small only at the airport.

Yes. The person will have to change the dollars to pounds though on arrival, same way you can travel to the US with pounds and change to dollars on arrival.

This question has been answered on every page. Will try my best to repeat what people have stated.

1. You don't need covid9 test if you are traveling to the uk.

2. Only those who are traveling back to Nigeria that need a covid19 test.

3. You self Isolate for 14 days when you arrive UK except your country or where you're coming from is exempted.

4. You dont need a covid19 test result if you boarding British Airways aka BA.

5. Certain airlines require covid 19 test results before boarding.

Yes I got a mail around 1pm but i noticed in the morning when I tracked it that it has been returned to VAC.

Good morning all. Please I tracked my application now and noticed this morning is shows APPLICATION TRANSFERRED TO VAC. Is this normal because I haven't received email.

Well, ordinarily statements on application form need to match statements made by applicant and/or sponsor. Mismatch is usually grounds for refusal.

However, given the global pandemic the situation with your friend may be considered peculiar. I would expect that it should suffice if statements made prior to the rescheduled Biometrics appointment clearly explained the reason for the deferment. A cause for worry should be if the reason for the visit is static such that it was only feasible in April but for visits that are flexible, his case should not be negatively impacted.

These are my opinion and not a hard and fast rule.

In my own case, I filled and submitted my form online on February 22 and picked March 30 for biometrics because i stated May 4 and May 14, 2020 as my arrival and departure dates respectively in my form but the biometrics appointment was cancelled due to lockdown. So I included a cover letter where I stated that I supposed to travel to the UK on May 4, 2020 and come back on May 14 during part of my 2020 annual leave but my biometrics appointment cancelled due to coronavirus outbreak. I now stated I will be traveling to UK on November 3 and come back on November 13 which is what my UK host also wrote in the invitation letter. But I have shown my friend your responses and told him what I did in my own case and he said he didn't even include any cover letter but his sister only wrote RE: APPLICATION FOR A VISIT VISA as the heading of the invitation letter so I told him to contact them via the paid service. Please do i also still need to contact them on paid service after including it in my cover letter? My annual leave is 4 weeks in a year but I usually have 2 weeks in middle of the year and and have the remaining 2 weeks during my birthday in November. Thanks.

I don’t know what will obtain in this situation as regards covid 19 and what it affected or didn’t affect. On the bright side, you say the applicant has already done biometrics, there’s nothing more left to do than to wait for outcome.
