I agreed with you until I got to the last two paragraphs. A relationship is not a business venture or a form of occupation, anybody can call it off without having to compensate the other financially. What I don't support is wasting a person's time if you dont see a future with him or her. If it was the girl that wants to break off from the relationship, will you be suggesting that she compensates the guy?

She is making effort and intelligent, I know, I just don't want eventually end up with someone I don't love, I don't want to get married to someone out of pity, although, marriage is not in my plan for the next 4 years, I just don't want to waste her time further. On the issue of compensation, I don't the financial prowess to do all you just mentioned but I sure want to still be her friend when I eventually break up with her, assisting her in every possible way.

He's addicted and addiction means he'll not easily quit. He needs type of therapy.

Lure him into exercise and work outs by working out yourself and invite him. Tell him you'd want him to improve his looks.
Exercise helps addicts atimes.

Download YouTube videos of those that quit chronic drinking and smoking and how they did it and watch them with him till the end.

Download different "how to quit alcohol and smoking" YouTube videos and make sure you both watch them regularly. Make him follow all the recommendations in such videos. Good luck!!!

This is not something to bring to nairaland. Take her to hospital or pharmacy immediately or you have blood on your hands.

If you don't have money beg them to save her life first and you could be lucky they listen cos its Christmas.

If they still refuse tell them to at least tell you what to do to stop the bleeding.

If you leave her without treatment she'll certainly die. My friend nearly died too.
