"And in the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, graciously freed Jehoiachin king of Judah from prison. And he spoke kindly to him. Jehoiachin put off his prison garments. And every day of his life he dined regularly at the king’s table, and for his allowance, a regular allowance was given him by the king, according to his daily needs, as long as he lived.” FROM 27TH DECEMBER...: *You are FREE from any bondage that has over-stayed. WE MUST CONTINUE TO EXTEND LOVE AND SELFLESS SERVICE TO HUMANITY. The season of Christmas is one that exemplifies the virtues of love, sacrifice and peaceful co-existence. It is the time when we demonstrate the great sense of goodwill in us and our love for each another. It is the season of hope anchored on God’s enduring gift of love. It offers us a unique opportunity to express and share Christ’s message of love, peace, unity and reconciliation to all men and women. Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ who is the symbol of Christianity as well as the harbinger of peace, love and good tidings, and there is no better way to celebrate the season than to offer special prayers during the yuletide for greater peace, love, unity, peaceful co-existence and progress of Nigeria. As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ which symbolizes love and fulfilment of God’s promises, I enjoin everyone to imbibe the spirit of true love and sacrifice which the birth of Jesus Christ has brought to the world. Let us not lose sight of its profound and important lessons; love, humility, peace and selfless service to humanity. We must therefore continue to extend a hand of love, benevolence and live as one family irrespective of religion or ethnicity. As we mark the birth of Jesus Christ, my family and I are happy to join Christians all over the world to share the happiness and true spirit of Christmas. On behalf of the good people of Anambra South, I wish you all a very blessed, peaceful and memorable Christmas, as I pray that we live long to celebrate many happy returns of the season, while growing stronger in faith individually, collectively and as a nation. May God continue to bless us with love, peace and safety during this season of celebration. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance! *Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ubah* *Anambra South Senatorial District* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTdQxgWaMrk |
EXPOSED: HOW COURT DISCOVERED OBINNA UZOR’S LIES AND REVERSED ITS JUDGMENT.* *......MORE TROUBLE LOOMS FOR OBINNA UZOR AS HE RISKS JAIL TERM OVER LYING ON OATH* Wonders shall never end!! Politics of Abra cadabra and “the more you look, the less you see” is back!! Nigeria is witnessing yet another episode of jankara judgments reminiscent of the impeachment of governors by less few lawmakers in the earlier days of our democracy. Anambra South Senatorial seat is the epicenter this time. There appears to be no slowing down in Obinna Uzor’s desperate bid to crawl into political relevance as he resorted to use jankara means to obtain a judgment from a Kubwa High Court using a claim filed by someone he shares the same address with who claims he was a member of the YPP, which he joined as a defendant. The plans and hopes of Obinna Uzor to clandestinely take the mandate given to Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah by the people of Anambra South Senatorial district has been exposed and stopped. Mr Obinna Uzor was an aspirant for the ticket of the PDP in the primaries elections of 2018 for the 2019 Senatorial elections. He lost at the primaries and lost in his court cases against Chief Chris Uba in respect of the primary election. He was not even 2nd runner up in the primary election of the PDP. Obinna Uzor is perhaps seeking to become popular using Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s towering profile. One may ask, how did it all happen. The genesis of the matter was that disgruntled Obinna Uzor filed a suit clandestinely at the FCT High Court Kubwa and sought to be declared the candidate of the PDP for the elections. The suit he filed was not served on Chris Uba and all the defendants did not appear given the jankara service of the court processes by pasting and removal. Of course Chris Uba did not appear and the court gave judgment on 25th March 2019 declaring obinna Uzor candidate of the PDP for election, which had already been held in February 2019. Yet Obinna Uzor hid the judgment and it was not sent to INEC or the PDP. Armed with the judgment he obtained against Chris Uba using jankara process, Obinna uzor applied to join another suit he had covertly instituted through one Anani Anacletus Chuka. These characters share similar address. Mr Uzors application for joinder was heard and granted within 3 days of being filed as against 7days provided by the law in the absence of all the parties. The Court joined Obinna Uzor as a Defendant. Obinna Uzor who claims to be a good catholic faithful misled the court gravely. What is however surprising is that the FCT High Court subsequently heard the matter filed by Anani Anacletus Chuka and misled the court to deliver judgment in their favour in April 2019 granting reliefs contained in the written address of counsel to Obinna Uzor, a defendant in the matter and without a claim or counter-claim before the court. When the judgment was obtained in April 2019, the Election Petitions at the Tribunal in Awka was ongoing, but like a thief, he hid the judgment to himself and did not participate in the tribunals. He waited till the end of the Election Appeals at the Court of Appeal before bringing out the judgment. The Court of Appeal judgment that reaffirmed the victory of Senator Ubah was delivered in October 2019. When Senator Ubah became aware of the judgment and the evil plans of Obinna Uzor, he briefed his lawyers who immediately set process in motion to vacate the court order on the basis that the judgment was a nullity having been made without jurisdiction. Some of the key reasons why it is a nullity include: 1. The FCT High Court does not have Territorial jurisdiction over the matter regarding Anambra South 2. The reliefs sought by Obinna Uzor were statue barred having been filed in April 2019 after the election and being a pre-election issue. 3. The motion for joinder was filed on 28th March 2019 and heard within 3day as against 7days required by law thereby denying Senator Ubah fair hearing and robbing the court of jurisdiction. 4. The judge held that the Claim of the Claimant had been overtaken by events but granted reliefs sought by Obinna Uzor a defendant contained in the written address of his lawyers. 5. Obinna uzor did not file any claim or counter-claim and the Court held that Anani Anacletus Chuka’s claim was academic. 6. The Suit was commenced by Originating Summons and not a writ 7. The reliefs granted are in breach of the Constitution as Information available to us indicates that after Obinna Uzor failed to keep to his side of the bargain, the Claimant Anani Anacletus Chuka later asked the court to set aside the judgment on the grounds that it was a nullity. It is obvious that Obinna Uzor is desperate and seeking to reap where he did now sow. He wants to ride on Senator Ubah’s popularity to be popular. The pertinent questions that need to be asked are: Why did he not come to participate at the tribunal and Appeal Court? The judgment of the tribunal was in August and the judgment of the Court of Appeal in October. Yet Obinna Uzor hid the judgment till November 2019. How come in the Suit Obinna Uzor filed against Chief Chris Uba and the one his crony Anani Anacletus Chuka against Sen Ubah, all the defendants did not appear? Can it be just coincidence? How come Obinna Uzor did not disclose to the court that there were other judgments against him declaring Chris Ubah as the PDP candidate? How come it was the same Court that handled the two matters? How come the court granted relief to a defendant in a matter he joined in an existing suit and jettisoned the plaintiff? Why did the plaintiff approach the court to nullify the judgement and till date, it has not been heard? Information available to us indicates that after Obinna Uzor failed to keep to his side of the bargain, the Claimant Anani Anacletus Chuka later asked the court to set aside the judgment on the grounds that it was a nullity. This particular attempt has ridiculed and exposed Obinna Uzor as a chameleon masquerading under the pretext of a staunch Church goer to orchestrate his evil agenda. *It is very laughable that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah was accused of forging his NECO certificate when the accusers could have simply gone to NECO office to purchase a N500 NECO scratch card to verify and authenticate his NECO Certificate.* It is also bewildering how a judge could deliver a Senatorial election judgement without any representative from YPP, INEC or Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. Could it be that they used charms to blindfold people in the court in order to have their evil way? The good news is that God exposed Obinna Uzor and his judgment he obtained using jankara practice has been halted. His devilish coup against the will of the people of Anambra South has collapsed as the Court, on the 4th December, 2019, has granted an order of interim injunction restraining the INEC, Obinna Uzor, the Clerk and the President of the Nigerian Senate from taking any step aimed at giving effect to the said judgment. In his evil bid to reap where he has never sown and blinded by unbridled ambition, Obinna Uzor has fallen into the cesspit of perjury by lying on oath when in his affidavit he used a plaza as his residential address instead of his well-known address/residence situated in Asokoro. It was also discovered in the affidavit that Obinna Uzor shares the same address with the plaintiff. This has exposed him to the possibility of criminal trial and imprisonment upon a successful conviction at the appropriate time. |

PETROLEUM TANKERS SAFETY ESTABLISHMENT BILL PASSES SECOND READING TODAY ON THE FLOOR OF THE SENATE Today, being Tuesday December 10, 2019, I lead the debate on the general principles of the Petroleum Tankers Safety bill, 2019 (S.B. 145) which was sponsored by me and read for the first time on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday, 6th November, 2019. The Bill seeks to reduce frequent Petroleum trucks accidents on Nigerian roads, as well as makes consequential provisions towards safe Petroleum products transportation system across the country. As the short title of the bill suggests, the Bill was inspired by the urgent need to promote safety in the transportation of petroleum products on our highways using tankers. It further seeks to eliminate practices that are inimical to freight traffic and Petroleum haulage in Nigeria, promote the welfare of tanker drivers by ensuring investments Truck Transit Parks (TTP’s) and related transport infrastructure so as to generally promote safe commercial cargo haulage and reduce accidents arising from transportation of petroleum products by road. I reminded the Senate President and my Distinguished colleagues of the high incidences of crashes by Petroleum tankers on our highways over the years. Most of these accidents often result to loss of lives and properties running into hundreds of millions of Naira. According to a recent study conducted by the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) between 2007 and 2010 alone, a total of 4,017 tanker/trailer crashes were recorded on Nigerian roads with the yearly average of 1,148 cases and monthly average of 96 crashes. The above statistics are no doubt, alarming but what is even more alarming is the near failure of the institutional and legal framework to reverse or mitigate this ugly situation. The General public would recall the recent petroleum tankers mishaps- the Mile 2 Lagos incident on October 15 and a tanker laden with petrol spilled on Ozumba Mbadiwe as well as the Onitsha Tanker crash due to failure of the tank shell. We also recall the tragic incident that occurred on Otedola Bridge on June 28, 2018, at this incident, 12lives were lost, many people were critically injured and at least 55 vehicles were lost to the inferno. This persistent carnage by road haulage of Petroleum products necessitates the introduction of this Bill. It is against this background that this Bill became necessary in order to provide a legal framework that is peculiar to this segment of the transport industry to further strengthen existing collaborations between Government agencies on transportation of petroleum products by road. Considering the peculiar nature of the Petroleum industry and the important role of petroleum tankers in the transportation of petroleum products, this Bill seeks to allow the creation of the Petroleum Tankers Safety Department (PTSD) to oversee the use of tankers/trucks for transportation of petroleum products and generally collaborate with other relevant agencies to ensure effective regulation and safety issues relating to petroleum freight industry. Accordingly, the bill is divided into five (5) major parts subdivided into 41 clauses; Part I of the bill contains objectives and scopes of the Bill while part II of the bill is on the proposed measures for enforcing the provisions of the Bill. Part III introduces a novel provision which the recognition of Truck Transit Parks (TTPs) in selected locations across the country. The TTPs recognized under this bill are accordingly listed in the schedule to this bill. It is proposed under part IV of the bill that a Freight Traffic Liability Claims Tribunal be established to handle civil claims arising from Petroleum Tankers crashes to ensure speedy dispensation of Justice to victims of Petrol tanker accidents. Offences peculiar to Petroleum freight industry are created in Part V of the bill and such offences are to be tried by the Federal High Court. In compliance with order 77(3) of the Senate Standing orders, 2015 as amended, the proposed bill has no additional financial burden on the Treasury of the Federal Government since the enforcement of the bill will be under the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) through the Department specifically created under this Bill. Conclusively, this Bill is not in conflict with any existing law but will only strengthen existing institutions in the discharge of their responsibilities on highway transportation. It is therefore my wish that with the support of my distinguished colleagues, the expeditious passage of this Bill will address the increasing incident of Petroleum Tankers crashes in Nigeria. *Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ubah.* *Anambra South Senatorial District.*

MY EROSION CONTROL AND PREVENTION COMMISSION ESTABLISHMENT BILL PASSES FIRST READING.* *……..100 FOOT ROAD NNEWI EROSION SITE, EKWULOBIA-OKO-UMUNZE-IBINTA ROAD, ICHI-ORAIFITE, AGULU-NANKA GULLY EROSION SITE, NNAMDI AZIKIWE UNIVERSITY (AWKA AND NNEWI CAMPUSES) AND UMUEZE EROSION SITE UGA-AGUATA AND OTHERS SET TO BE TACKLED.* To God be the glory, Today, I sponsored a bill to establish an Erosion Control and Prevention Commission which will be constitutionally saddled with the responsibility of prevention, control, management and redress of erosion and other related matters. The Ecological Fund Office is constitutionally domiciled within the Presidency. As a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who is saddled with the duty of lawmaking and appropriation, the aim of this bill is to establish a structure that will make this fund more accessible to Nigerians who are in dire need of it when due and necessary. Erosion is a serious environmental menace destroying the property and means of livelihood of my constituents in Anambra South as well as other parts of the nation. With full participation and involvement in taking preventive and remedial actions to stabilize the gullies and forestall loss of lives and properties, the commission upon establishment will formulate policies, guidelines and play an advisory role to the Federal Government on erosion prevention, management and control, while mobilizing funding, technical assistance and expertise to tackle this menace. The commission will also be saddled with the task of carrying out comprehensive and periodic surveys of erosion stricken areas and potential areas that are vulnerable to threat. The general public would recall, that on Thursday, July 18 2019, I called the attention of the Senate, Ecological Fund Office and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to the fact that the biggest motorcycle and auto parts market in West Africa; Nkwo Nnewi market which is situated along 100 Foot Road Nnewi is currently threatened by the same erosion menace, thereby forcing traders to offload their containers far away from their warehouses/shops, leaving them with no other option than to use wheelbarrows to convey their goods to the market as a result of the erosion stricken road. Communities within my Senatorial District such as; Ekwulobia- Oko-Umunze- Ibinta Road, Ichi-Oraifite, Agulu-Nanka gully erosion site, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Awka and Nnewi campuses) as well as Umueze erosion site Uga-Aguata and many others have been severely ravaged and thrown into untold suffering as a result of the pervasive erosion menace. Every year, hundreds of people are directly/indirectly affected and large areas of agricultural lands are becoming unsuitable for cultivation as erosion destroys farmlands and lowers productivity. Unless immediate measures are taken to control the widening erosion gullies, the residents of the communities will continue to be exposed to greater risk of loss of life and properties. It is my earnest belief and expectation that having passed the first reading, the bill will be read the second time and recommended to the relevant committee for further legislative action. *Senator (Dr.) Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.* *Anambra South Senatorial District.* EROSION CONTROL AND PREVENTION COMMISSION ESTABLISHMENT BILL PASSES FIRST READING.* *……..100 FOOT ROAD NNEWI EROSION SITE, EKWULOBIA-OKO-UMUNZE-IBINTA ROAD, ICHI-ORAIFITE, AGULU-NANKA GULLY EROSION SITE, NNAMDI AZIKIWE UNIVERSITY (AWKA AND NNEWI CAMPUSES) AND UMUEZE EROSION SITE UGA-AGUATA AND OTHERS SET TO BE TACKLED.* To God be the glory, Today, I sponsored a bill to establish an Erosion Control and Prevention Commission which will be constitutionally saddled with the responsibility of prevention, control, management and redress of erosion and other related matters. SENATOR IFEANYI UBAH COMMISERATES WITH NNEWI CATHOLIC COMMUNITY OVER THE DEATH OF REV. FR. EDMUND NWAGBALA. I am very saddened to hear of the death of Rev. Fr. Dr. Edmund Nwagbala, who lost his life in an alleged fire explosion at his residence yesterday Saturday, November 16, 2019. I imagine a triumphant welcome in Heaven, because this is the home going of one of God’s most precious gifts to humanity, a life marked by kindness and unusual selflessness has gone to be with the Lord. On behalf of the good people of Anambra South, I wish to convey my sincere condolences to the Bishop, the entire Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Nnewichi as well as family members and friends who are grieving this untimely loss. Rev. Fr Nwagbala was a great spiritual leader, model, and example for all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. His forthrightness, his steady and consistent leadership, his commitment to peace, and personal devotion to the triune God will be missed in a world that sorely needs these rare qualities. Undoubtedly, Rev. Fr Nwagbala’s ascension to the realm of celestial glory has left an indelible scar in our hearts, but while mourning his departure, I am much more comforted by the good news that he is now resting with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ the King whose death and glorious resurrection has secured eternal life for all who believe in him. We are consoled by the fact that he has moved into the nearer presence of our Lord and is advancing from glory to glory. He fought the good fight; he finished the race; he kept the faith. Now he, who longed for our Lord’s appearing, has received the crown of righteousness. I have alerted the relevant Authorities and agencies to probe into the root cause of the fire explosion and investigate the circumstances that might have led to this unfortunate incident. May he rest now forever in the peace of Christ and may God comfort and console his family and loved ones. Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ubah. Anambra South Senatorial District.

ONE TINY WARNING SHOT FOR AZUBOGU AND HIS MEDIA TEAM. It is often said that when the truth is blurred by distorted facts, noise and misinformation, perception becomes reality and all is lost. This happens to be the case of the Azubogu media team who have embarked on a media diatribe to smear to personality of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah: The Prince of the Senate who is presently a towering figure in the Ninth Senate. I understand the damage low self-esteem could inflict on hapless individuals who have at some point benefited so much in the past from Ifeanyi Ubah’s benevolence and suddenly stopped enjoying those privileges as a result of their self inflicted delusions, but I think the most honourable thing to do now is to move on. Turning into attack dogs and objects of scorn on social media, is to say the least, pitiable and saddening. A honourable member who never found you competent enough to appoint you as an aide will certainly not find you a trustworthy sycophant. Before now, i would have completely dismissed the smear campaign as an attention seeking move, but for the purpose of clarity and to put issues in proper perspective here are facts Azubogu’s media team should have considered before engaging in this ridiculous macabre dance: 1. Chris Azubogu is a huge benefactor of Senator of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s political benevolence. It is well known fact that Ifeanyi Ubah has always been a household name with formidable contributions to the Nation’s economy and tremendous assets worth hundreds of billions of Naira. It is sad that the same cannot be said for Chris Azubogu who was merely a shadowy and relatively unknown I.T consultant before Ifeanyi Ubah and few other benefactors sponsored him into the House of Representatives. So how then can one compare Chris Azubogu to Ifeanyi Ubah? That would be akin to comparing a son to a father, or an agama lizard to an alligator. 2. In 2015, While Ifeanyi Ubah was in PDP he founded and ran the biggest Presidential campaign structure: Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) which gave Ex President Goodluck Ebelle Jonathan 70% visibility and was also the Deputy DG, Contact and Mobilization during GEJ’s re-election campaign. This a feat which Azubogu who has been a member of PDP for almost a decade isn’t close to achieving till date. 3. While Senator Ifeanyi Ubah presides over 7 local governments as the elected Senator representing Anambra South, Chris Azubogu represents 3 local under Anambra South and remains answerable and surbodunate to Senator Ubah at the National Assembly. 4. Senator Ifeanyi Ubah is the National Leader of YPP and already has the Governorship ticket in his pocket, while Chris Azubogu on the other hand has numerous contenders to face to get his party’s ticket. He should focus on clinching his party ticket before launching a smear campaign against Senator Ubah. 5. Senator Ifeanyi Ubah owns a multi billion international games village in Nnewi/Ozubulu which is the first privately owned stadium to be certified by CAF in West Africa. This is a feat Anambra State Government could not achieve in 25 years. Senator Ubah made this possible in less than two years. 6. Senator Ubah has sponsored hundreds of Anambra youths to Countries like UK, Russia, Dubai amd Egypt. Soon, his aides; will be traveling to Havard Kennedy Institute for a legislative studies and policy making program in USA, afterwhich they will be traveling to China for a brief commercial expo forum. 7. Adichie Izuchukwu, Bernard Nwanya, Okonkwo Godspower are all aides of Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah who are in the payroll of the National Assembly and have toured several parts of The world and Nigeria with their principal. Can the same be said of Chris Azubogu’s aides? 8. FC Ifeanyi Ubah has consistently remained a force to be reckoned with in the NPFL despite the numerous setbacks that have relegated privately owned clubs like Remo stars, Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC and co, FC Ifeanyi Ubah has remained on top and is currently in third position on the NPFL table. 9. The case between Capital Oil and AMCON has been a subsisting case which has been in court for years. It is important to note that till date, no court of competent jurisdiction has found Capital oil wanting. A company having operational setbacks for over two cannot pay workers salary when revenue hasn’t been generated for years now. 10. In less than 6months. Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah has been able to bring in the media industry, The Authority FM becoming the first Radio Station in Nnewi Town, a commercial enclave known for its industrial viability. With the commencement of broadcast in Anambra, Authority 91.9FM is the first Radio Station in Nnewi and presently boasts of an expansive coverage as it draws its audience from local communities in Anambra, Imo, Abia, Enugu, Delta, Edo, Kogi, Benue and Ondo states. The establishment of the radio station has offered several employment opportunities and is geared towards engendering socioeconomic development and reducing unemployment in Anambra State. In a sane clime, youths like Onyedika Anambra would have recused himself from being an attack dog and focus on his pharmaceutical career since Chris Azubogu didn’t consider worthy of appointing him as an aide. Conclusively, I wish to categorically and sternly warn the Azubogu Media team to desist from launching unnecessary attacks on the personality of Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah. The callous and unwarranted attacks by these enemies of peace and decorum is to say the least, despicable, condemnable and symptomatic of a pathetically disoriented media team. In their futile attempts to pull Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah down at all costs, lies have become a stock in trade, mischief a major commodity, and serial mendacity a character flaw of their media team. Social media is only but a tiny fraction that constitutes a little percentage of the electorate. Let us focus on issue based narratives that will help change our polity for good. A word is enough for the wise!

FLASH: Senator Ifeanyi Ubah through his motion on the floor of the Senate makes case for Tragic Fuel Tanker Fire disaster that recently happened in Onitsha, Anambra state, urge the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) to work in conjunction with the Federal Road Safety Cprps (FRSC) to carry out a thorough investigation of the circumstances leading to the accident that led to the fuel tanker fire, with a view to prosecuting anyone found culpable in this preventable fire incident; and accelerate the passage of the Petroleum Tankers Safety Bill 2019. He also urge the Federal Government to include financial support in the package to the affected persons to enable them restart their businesses, as government promise to assist the victims and affected traders with relief materials... Also at the Senate today A Bill to establish Power and Petroleum Safety Institue in Orafite (Est, etc) 2019 (SB. 149) sponsored by Senator Ifeanyi Ubah passes first reading on the Senate floor.

PETROLEUM TANKER ACCIDENT MENACE IN NIGERIA SET TO BE CURTAILED AS MY “PETROLEUM TANKERS SAFETY BILL, 2019 (SB. 145)” PASSES FIRST READING. Sequel to the increasingly alarming spate of Petroleum Tanker fire incidents in the country, Today, on the floor of the Senate, I sponsored the Petroleum Tankers Safety Bill, 2019 (SB.145) which has successfully passed the First reading. I also got the express approval of the Senate President to present an urgent motion on the fire incident that occurred at Ochanja market and Omogba residential areas of Onitsha, Anambra on the 16th and 17th of October 2019 after a Petroleum Tanker laden with fuel fell and spilled its content. The tragic fire accident destroyed so many lives, businesses, shops and homes of residents of the area. Furthermore, I also co-sponsored a motion on the urgent need to monitor the Nigerian flare commercialization programme towards ending Gas flaring by 2020. It is an indisputable fact that Gas flares have been wreaking havoc across oil producing communities since the early 1960s. Gas flaring results in the release of emissions which are harmful to humans, the economy and the environment. The failure of the Government to enforce laws against gas flaring has exposed people living around nearby flare sites to various respiratory disorders, harmed the environment through air pollution, destroyed farmlands, damaged crops and cost the country trillions of Naira in revenues. It is my expectation that my Petroleum Tankers Safety Bill, 2019 (SB.145) will sail through second reading so as to prevent future occurrences and address this ugly menace that has left so many lives, businesses and properties in unquantifiable ruins.
