The truth is, the National Population Commission is meant to register (keep a civil register) of all Nigerian citizens whether born in Nigeria or abroad. The Commission is also to register deaths and still births. The Commission derives its powers from the Constitution. The Commission's Department of Vital Registration actually carries out that function. I think further clarification on this issue can be sought from the National Population Commission. borryworld: |

The man wants to bully you. From his action, I am sure if you had given notice of resignation your salary would have been delayed. You must have worked as an Office Assistant I guess. Never mind, don't be scared. You'll be fine. Teensway: 1 Like |

Travel / Re: Trump To Ban 2-Year Visa For Nigerians by gratefulalways: 4:44pm On Jan 29, 2017 |
The assertion below is NOT TRUE. Nigeria issues US citizens 2 years multiple visas. Furthermore the US embassy in Nigeria issues shorter validity visas e.g. 3 months to Nigerians depending on the reason for travel. Please get your facts right. .........Nigeria currently only issues one-year multiple-entry visa to Americans, which is a non-reciprocation of the two-year visa the country issues Nigerians....... |

No prior appointment is required for Abuja. Just stroll in & you will be attended to at the Citizens Services section of the Embassy. Hours of service for Abuja are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m, and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. It was free when I did it April. lobus: 2 Likes 3 Shares |

Hi Shamecurls. Congrats on the birth of your LO. Just a quick question. I guess your visa renewal was through dropbox. Did it go through without being called to the Embassy for an interview. Again was your renewal in Lagos or Abuja? Thanks. DW paid $23 for 1 copy SSN Card came in the post 1 week after delivery. I notarized the consent form at the US Embassy in Abuja & sent to DW by DHL immediately after baby was born. Good morning all. We praise God for a smooth entry. He is indeed awesome & He answers prayers. DW & I arrived Houston through JFK yesterday. POE at JFK was a breeezeee. Passport control was crowded. We did an initial self-service at the Global Entry Kiosk before joining the line. A Queue Marshall expedited us when she noticed DW was pregnant & directed us to a CBP. CBP asked purpose of trip & we said childbirth. Took our fingerprints & stamped us in. I asked would that be all & he said yes. He didnt ask for a single document. We went to agric & nothing was seized. Bags were scanned and off we went to connect our flight to Houston. Didnt spend up to 5 minutes in all. We thank God for a wonderful testimony. His name be praised. I wish our dear mums & dads-to-be testimonies of successful visa interviews, POE stories & safe delivery. Thanks to everyone who has contributed on this Forum. We shall always have reasons to celebrate in our homes in Jesus name. Amen 12 Likes |

This was what I got from LagosNIV: Thank you for your email. Your B-class visa does not entitle you to entrance to the United States—it simply entitles you to arrive at a port-of-entry to the United States and apply for admission to an officer of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) unit on duty there. The Customs and Border Protection, a branch of USCIS, determines a traveler’s eligibility of entry to the U.S, you should be prepared to demonstrate to the immigration officer at the port of entry why you are seeking medical treatment and that you have logistical and financial plans for the treatment. We recommend that you review the regulations on non-immigrant aliens entering the United States for purposes of childbirth at https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/882/~/visit-the-u.s.-while-pregnant-and-the-risks-involved and plan accordingly. Please you should not stay in the U.S. longer than you are permitted by Customs and Border Protection at the port of entry. The Department of Homeland Security at the port of entry will determine your eligibility to enter the United States on any travel. If you choose to give birth in the U.S., we advise you to bring evidence of payment, both when you enter the U.S. on this visit, and at your future U.S. visa interviews. Correspondence Unit (MAM) US CONSULATE GENERAL LAGOS, NIGERIA [quote author=biollar1 post=43590111] I got the generic response. Here: Thank you for your inquiry. Please note that there is no legal requirement to inform us that you are seeking to give birth in the United States or that your purpose of travel has changed. The Customs and Border Protection, a branch of USCIS, determines a traveler's eligibility of entry to the U.S, you should be prepared to demonstrate to the immigration officer at the port of entry why you are seeking medical treatment and that you have logistical and financial plans for the treatment.......... |

Please we sent in our notification to the Embassy (Abuja) but only an auto-response was received. It didn't really address our intent. It's been more than a week since we received the auto-response. Any advice please as DW's trip is in a couple of days. Thanks. |

Thanks @happytbaby. Yes we did the dropbox renewal in 2014 when my wife wasnt pregnant. It's a B1/B2 visa. [quote author=happytbaby post=43267459]I think 'Intention to Deliver in the US' is more appropriate. Since you did drop box, you weren't able to fully declare any intent. Just ensure you have the right visa. Just tell them you (wifey) intends to deliver in the US and were wondering if its okay to go ahead. My thoughts... quote author=gratefulalways post=43266260]@ LadyGuinivere and other dear Mums & Dads. My family & I renewed our visas via dropbox in 2014..... |
