The National Legal Adviser of the NNPP, Robert Hon, has revealed that Abba Kabir Yusuf was removed as Kano State governor by the Court of Appeal due to his lack of membership in the NNPP during both his candidacy and election. He cited sections 177, paragraph C, and 177, subsection 2, of the amended 1999 Constitution as the basis for disqualification.
Hon explained, "The reason for the decision of the Court of Appeal was that Abba Kabir Yusuf was never a member of the NNPP. Therefore, he was disqualified under section 177, paragraph C, and 177, subsection 2 of the 1999 Constitution as amended. That was the reason for the decision. The issue of the deduction, the issue of IREV, and all other issues that were submitted for determination by this court were not considered. Remember that, I must tell you that the appellant submitted nine issues for determination by this court. The court in its own wisdom picked and chose three issues, major one of which is the issue of disqualification: that he wasn't a member of the NNPP at the time he contested, and as at the time he participated in the election that was held on the 18th of March, 2023. That was the anchor of the judgement of the Court of Appeal."
Anambra guber: APGA fingers Ifeanyi Ubah in Ikemba Front attack, cautions Ganduje
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State has linked the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah,with a faceless group, Ikemba Front.
The group, APGA alleged would always attack the state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, for no reason other than Ubah's vaulting ambition to become the governor of the state at all cost in 2025.
The National Coordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, stated these in a statement on Saturday.
He also cautioned the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress( APC) Abdullahi Ganduje over a comment about APC conquest of Southeast plan.
Describing those behind the amorphous Ikemba Front group as cowards, Obigwe said that was why they were hiding their identity.
Our correspondent learnt that the Ikemba Front group had recently described the Soludo government in Awka as clueless. They also accused Soludo of trying to sell out APGA.
But in a statement on Saturday, Obigwe said,"Senator Ifeanyi Ubah using an amorphous group called ikemba Front to smear Governor Soludo name is a waste of time.
"Smear campaign against Governor Soludo is tantamount to pouring water on a stone because he is unstoppable. Nobody should take the cowards behind Ikemba front seriously until they unmask their identity.
"I will not also fail to state emphatically that the cowards behind Ikemba front are not members of APGA rather they are masquerading to be aggrieved members of APGA.
"Intelligent report within my disposal revealed that Ifeanyi Ubah is the masquerade beating the drum the cowards behind ikemba Front are dancing to in a desperate attempt to be Governor in 2025.
"There is nothing that the desperate Ifeanyi Ubah comes up with that we will not counter in strong defence of Governor Soludo and we will continue doing that until Ifeanyi Ubah and his supporters are put to shame in 2025.
"Genuine APGA members are proud of Governor Soludo because of his performance in office and they are also happy with his strategic political moves.
Obigwe maintained that, "Governor Soludo has shown that he is on a mission to take APGA to greater heights by making his commendable performance in office the yardstick to assess and measure the party.
"His performance as Governor within a short space of 1year and 8months has turned APGA into a beautiful bride in Nigeria. He is doing what PDP, APC, Labour Party and others are not doing.
"It's only envious and biased minds that pretend as if they are not seeing the wonders Governor Soludo is performing in Anambra but truthful people are testifying about it. I will continue saying that Governor Soludo is a divine blessing to the good people of Anambra State.
On the comment by the APC national chairman, Obigwe said, "Ganduje should count Anambra out of APC conquest of Southeast plan.
"The national Chairman of APC must be told in plain language that Ndi Anambra will resist their party conquest of Southeast plan.Anybody thinking that what happened in Imo will happen in Anambra is dwelling in self deceit.

Some opposition party chieftains and support groups of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday gave the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu a 72-hour ultimatum to transmit power to his deputy, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa or face dare consequence.
The groups, under the aegis of PDP Forever Initiative, threatened to occupy the Governor’s office should he (Akeredolu) fails to heed the 72 hours ultimatum.
Addressing a press conference at the PDP national secretariat, the National Coordinator of the groups, Hon. Obande Gideon Obande, expressed worries that President Bola Tinubu and the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) failed to address the lingering constitutional issue.
Disturbed over what they called leadership vacuum created by the absence of Aketredolu in office, the groups asked that his (the Governor’s) deputy should be fully empowered to run the affairs of governance.
While the PDP groups said it will continue to pray for Akeredolu’s quick recovery because he is human, they added that his incapacitation should not affect governance, as there is a provision for a deputy who shall discharge his duties in an acting capacity as empowered by the law.
According to the PDP Forever Initiative, “We hereby call on Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to resume within 72hours or hand over power to his Deputy for effective management of Ondo State.
“We make bold to say that, if the Governor failsl to resume or handover power to his Deputy within 72hours, we will have no option than to occupy Ondo State Government House to press home our demand,” the PDP Forever Initiative said.
Continuing, the groups said, “The All Progressives Congress, APC, is yet to provide the kind of leadership expected of it by Nigerians.
“The worst of it is the political vacuum in Ondo State where the APC leadership used in showcasing its ineptitude towards governance in the country.
“During our (PDP’s) reign in power, former President Umar Musa Yar’Adua was sick and could not transmit power to the Vice President before leaving the country, our party invoked the powers of the constitution and empowered the Vice President as the Acting President.
“It also happened in Taraba State when the late Gov Danbaba Suntai had an air crash, we resolved the crisis but the ruling APC has failed woefully in managing the political crisis in Ondo State.
“This is a sign that the APC led Federal government is insensitive to the plights of Nigerians
“What is so difficult to call the State Assembly to order and ensure smooth working relationship between the Deputy Governor and the sick Governor’s family?
“We believe that because the crisis is in Yoruba land, the APC has abandoned the constitution to serve some personal interests, thereby abandoning Nigerians to their faith.
“Let it be known that, this country belongs to all of us, whether PDP or APC even Labour Party, as such, we can not fold our arms and watch the Nation being sank.
“Once upon a time, our party, the Peoples Democratic Party attempted to protest against the leadership vacuum in Ondo State but the security agencies prevented us. We are not giving up, we are resilience in propagating good governance at all time.
“It has become ridiculous and indeed a laughing stock the activities of non state actors who display their overbearing influence on the management of affairs of Ondo State in view of their relationship with the ailing Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
“The same people who are close to the Governor, mostly his family members, who believe that the mandate given to Governor Akeredolu is a retirement benefit to the entire family are responsible for the ugly situation in the State.
“The Governor has been around in the country, but obviously not fit enough to manage the affairs of the State.
“The question is, since the Deputy Governor is not allowed to act, and the Governor has refused to resume, who is administering the State at the moment?
Hon Obande Gideon explained that it is not strange for a PDP group to make such demand because “the issue at hand is not a party affair, but people’s affair, since the governor was voted by the people.
“His absence is hindering the smooth running of state affairs. He should as the constitution demands, transmit power to the Deputy Governor until he is fit to continue in office.
“We are not doubting his performance, we are not saying he is not he is not fit to be in office, we are concern about his state of health, we are saying he is not constitutionally alright to continue in office”, he stated.

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has warned against the likelihood of Nigeria slipping to becoming a one-party state. The former Vice President made the remarks on Tuesday when he hosted the national executive committee of the Inter-Party Advisory Council Nigeria (IPAC).
According to the former Vice President, “the project of protecting democracy in our country is not about just one man. “You have come here today to say that we should cooperate in order to promote democracy. “But the truth of the matter is that our democracy is fast becoming a one-party system; and, of course, you know that when we have a one party system, we should just forget about democracy.”
Atiku further tasked the leadership of IPAC, led by its national president, Yabagi Sani, on the need for the opposition political parties to come together and create a more formidable front that will salvage Nigeria’s democracy from sliding into a one-party state.
“We have all seen how the APC is increasingly turning Nigeria into a dictatorship of one party. If we don’t come together to challenge what the ruling party is trying to create, our democracy will suffer for it, and the consequences of it will affect the generations yet unborn,” Atiku said. He further chided the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting the worst ever general election in the country.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission conducted the worst general election in the country. “Recently again in the off-season election in three states, INEC doubled down on its disregard for the tenets of our democracy. “The Independent National Electoral Commission conducted the worst general election in the country.

Obowo ward: Only 10 people were accredited to vote but Uzodimma scored 927
Iheme ward: Nobody was accredited to vote there but Uzodimma scored 750 votes
Ugochinyere said that the list was endless about how votes were allocated to Governor hope Uzodimma. He also that those who rigged the elections for Uzodimma did not know that the BVAS had been upgraded to report over voting whenever the number of votes is more than the number of accredited voters
He also said that from the figures he has, Uzodimma did not score up to 60,000 votes, but was allocated votes by INEC in collusion with security agents to rig elections for Uzodimma
