Politics › Re: Amaechi Will Eventually Secure The APC Ticket by Great2017: 6:35pm On Jun 25, 2022 |
seunmsg: INEC is not stupid and including the columns for primary and secondary education is just the standard format. It is left for the individual candidates to fill the applicable columns in the form. What the law requires is that the candidate must provide evidence of a minimum of school leaving certificate and that has been done. Any other jara can be included but not compulsory under the law. Is a standard a just formality? By referring to the information collected as a mere format, you have actually insulted and desecrated a National agency. I am very sure INEC chairman will not take kindly your joke. A standard is expected to bring in some measure of checks and balances. That is the essence of demanding for those information including the primary and secondary education details. |
Politics › Re: Amaechi Will Eventually Secure The APC Ticket by Great2017: 6:20pm On Jun 25, 2022 |
12Monkeys: The law explicitly states that the minimum academic requirement to qualify to vie for the office of the President is Secondary School certificate.
In that same form there is provisions made for other certificates.
Which shows that INEC prioritises school cert above other higher academic qualifications .
The reasons for including names and dates of primary and secondary certificates is to allow for third party scrutiny of an applicants form since INEC is not empowered by law to disqualify or reject any application form.
Tinubu thinking he is smart omitted those entries thinking he can evade his decades long perjury case with INEC when he contested twice for governor of Lagos state and refused to provide in detail the names and duration of attendance of his early and secondary school history.
That affidavit will be contested and thrown put and Tinubu must provide details of his educational background. I completely agree with you. Your analysis is so coherent. Those information requested are not for fancy. They are there for checks and balances. One man cannot just wish them away. |

seunmsg: The law is very clear and my submission is also very clear. If you think there is a case of perjury anywhere despite my explanation, you’re free to go to court. At the right time, the case will be taken to court. For you not to have seen anything wrong in the deliberate evasion of the primary and secondary education sections when same were filled in a previous election says a lot about objective barometer. |

seunmsg: It’s unfortunate we have to argue with folks like you on this forum. Is comprehension so difficult these days?
You provided a link from a blog that is not credible. To make matters worse, there is no correlation between the fraudulent headline and the actual story.
Tinubu did not grant the blog or any media platform any interview on the subject matter. They are all publishing whatever they like based on the form he submitted to INEC and you all can’t even reason beyond your noses.
Tinubu never told anybody that he did not attend primary or secondary school. He simply left the columns empty because the law only requires that he should provide evidence of a minimum of first school leaving certificate. A university degree is already more than the minimum required so what is the noise all about?
The law does not require him to provide all the details of his educational qualifications. The law simply requires he must meet the minimum and that he has done. So, what is your point again? Is INEC stupid to have included a column for both primary and secondary education if they are not required? Why is Tinubu now evading the columns for both Primary and Secondary education when he had completed them in a previous election? |

KhennieGee: Actually, my submission wasn't meant to exonerate him, it just to clear some of the notions the guy had.
However, he may be reluctant to make those details public as it may be used to beam searchlight on his age which has been a subject of controversy. Age is one aspect. The other is the one I raised in my earlier submission - lying under oath (perjury). If the primary and secondary school sections are not mandatory, why were they included in the form? If they are, are they enough reason for disqualification? One thing is sure, if the right thing is not done, worse scenario will spring up in the future. |
Politics › Re: What are the implications of Tinubu not having Primary & Secondary school Cert? by Great2017: 1:20pm On Jun 25, 2022 |
KhennieGee: I think the problem here is the Nigerian system which has messed with some of us that we cannot even see beyond our noses. Have you come by the concept of "homeschooling"?
Let me cite myself as example, while in Secondary School, I registered for WASSCE as a private candidate in my penultimate year and cleared all 9 subjects. Assuming I have been homeschooled all along, I can still apply for higher education with that result without necessarily attending any previous educational institutions. And I cannnot remember primary school attendance being a prerequisite for sitting WASSCE.
Maintain decorum if you wish to reply, else you will be graciously ignored... Tinubu's case is far from what you have painted. He once claimed he attended primary and secondary schools that were subject of litigation. His saving grace was the immunity clause that covered him way back then. The question now is someone deliberately trying to evade due process? |
Politics › Re: Tinubu: I didn't attend primary, secondary schools. My Certificates Were Stolen by Great2017: 5:01am On Jun 25, 2022 |
fergie001: How can APC sue their own candidate? Only an aspirant can sue. None of them will......
The Nigerian Police is the Agency that should be involved but they won't. If perjury is issued, who will sue? Nobody.
In the old Electoral Act, any APC member can sue but with this new one, nobody can unless you contested against him in the Primary.
The only way the PDP or any other Party can contest it is if it touches on any provision of the Constitution; By your submission, the APC is playing with fire. After the election, Atiku, Peter Obi or Kwakwansor will simply ask the court to disqualify him. Why would the APC postpone an evil day when he can easily be replaced now? |
