Phones › The Redmi 8A Battery by GreaterFuture(op):
BATTERY LIFE – THE WALL SOCKET WAITS IN VAIN
Since the Redmi 7A and Redmi 8A each have the same SoC, similar energy consumption could be assumed. At 10%, the difference is actually not particularly high, but the Redmi 8A generally requires a little more energy, probably due to the larger screen area.
Battery life
At 5,000 mAh, the battery of the Redmi 8A has gotten really big; this is also noticeable in the 188 grams that the smartphone weighs. But there are also great runtimes of over 19 hours in our Wi-Fi test in return, which is 26% more than with the Redmi 7A. The Redmi 8A also beats the other comparison devices easily. Two workdays of continuous use shouldn't be a problem. Those who use their smartphone less could eventually even do without a wall socket for a week thanks to the low standby consumption.
According to Xiaomi, the smartphone supports fast charging up to 18 watts. But you have to buy a separate charger for this because the power adapter included in the box only delivers 10 watts and therefore takes a good 3 hours until the smartphone is recharged.
Pros:
-- many features
-- very long battery life...
VERDICT --
The Redmi 8A again offers a lot for its narrow budget: Very, very long battery life...

The Above is an excerpt of the Xiaomi Redmi 8A review from Tech site Notebookcheck.net (Article Source page :- https://www.notebookcheck.net/Xiaomi-Redmi-8A-smartphone-review-Large-battery-small-price.445924.0.html )

I can't say that this has been the case with my Redmi 8A. The battery is good but not as superbly excellent as I've read about from most Reviewers and tech site. After a full day, battery is just under 50% and I am not a heavy user at all, just regular day to day normal smartphone stuff is what I do.
The main reason was because of what I read from most Reviewers that Performance-wise it was very OK for regular users like me plus that it has a very long lasting Battery, but that has not really been the Case.
Talking about performance, here I have another funny problem. The phone hangs a lot, like It will just stop responding for about 30 seconds or more. I will have to go home, or put the phone to sleep and wake it up again. It does this in almost all apps especially chrome. Yesterday evening it went off, reboot and restarted all by itself.
It has become more frequent and This is something that older models of Xiaomis and Redmis did not have (I have used 2 in the past).
Or is this a software problem? I don't even know but I have a feeling it may be. I suspect it is the latest update cos when I first got the phone, i did not notice it. Though I did not stay on the other OS version for Long, I remember that UI was smoother and the Battery lasted longer.
Redmi 8A users pls share your valuable inputs.

Experts is there any real benefit to this or it is just BS? Especially since most Smartphone Screen these days have Gorilla Glass

Don't give up... being a painter in a country where people can not afford to build and those who can will not even bother to paint MUST BE VERY HARD.

I suggest you get super close to God and try a new profession. The world is controlled by MEDIA, TECH and ENTERTAINMENT. One of these can help you.
God bless your hustle bro
Thank you for your Concern and Kind words.
Well I do other things other than painting. What made me write all of this is that I lost my 2 Major SIM Cards and phone again yesterday, and retrieving them would be hard. My hope of clinching a deal I would use to settle my huge debts was on the two SIM cards and now that has.
These is just one of a Series of lamentation threads I have been writing since yesterday.
Nairaland General › So This Is My Lot... by GreaterFuture(op):
I don't know about you, but as for me, I can feel it that something serious is brewing in the country, in the neighboring countries and World over, we are in they beginning stages.
I am here early and awake this morning thinking to myself, so this how I will go not knowing what financial freedom feels like? Sad.
To those of you who are parents, especially to young children, parenting is not mainly about providing materially for your children. Being a parent is the toughest and hardest Job ever, cos you are grooming a full human being and individual with Emotions, feelings, a mind and freewill.
Building a healthy balanced emotional Human being is something most parents in these parts have failed miserably at.
You just have to give it your all!
You must never ever run out of patience. When you do, what that is in effect saying is "I just gave birth for the sake of giving birth"
So many unnecessarily wayward, imbalanced, damaged Youths out there, and the worse part is that many do not even know that they are.

Putting this here may not change anything, it is not your problem. But at the end of it after reading the post, if you are in a position to help me (not financially tho), I would really appreciate that.
Problem after Problems, after Problems, after Problem, after Problem, after Problems
The past few weeks, months and even years have been very Very Crazy. I use every self-control, ingenuity, Prudency, stoicism, Strength, resilience etc. to hold on and push on but it just keeps falling apart.
I created this new account about few months back (separate from my original old Nairaland Moniker) for the best reasons so as to Use nairaland to put things together but it seems everything seems to be collapsing the more. I mean this is not the the main Account, this is the back up, the main one got banned for 10 years, haba. I look back and I'm happy that I created this one.
I have been trying to push a Business and deal here on NL and it was having promise (I know the great Power of Nairaland if used right). First my main SIM got lost in my house mysteriously and It is hard getting that back cos I registered it with a nickname and my middle name. It was one of the numerous Airtel SIM Cards my brother and I use to buy every three months cos of bonus. Yeah I did not know then that you could buy as many SIMs as possible in the same Name #facepalms. I took at as my main WhatsApp SIM and that created a real bottleneck. Lost some major connects on that SIM but some of my contacts still had my major calling phone Number (08071056794). I created a new WhatsApp with that Number Now I lost this new one with my phone and the WhatsApp in it.
Although this SIM card is my long time SIM, it was registered by my brother and opened in his name, now my brother doesn't have a valid ID Card. And I need to do so many urgent things. I just hope the Person with the phone doesn't wipe my small Account cos some sensitive info is in that phone.
Since afternoon i can't get myself, police says money to get the phone (which is a Sure means actually) is too high.
Some SIM card dealers and Agent say they can still help me actually, since they know I am the one that owns the SIM, but I can't afford the money they are calling.
If not for the generous help of a Female Dr here on Nairaland, that saved helped me in the middle of the night and a few days after, I don't know things would have been.
I have a truckload of Sh!t I have from the preb5 years I'm trying to sort, Financially, psychologically and Health wise, now this?
Sigh...

First question - The aliepress seller is the one who flashed the global rom. I don't know much about flashing xiaomi

Second question - Device works fine. Only issue is I don't get Mtn 4g in my area cos band 3 never reach. All other 4g I dey get.
Another question pls, Are you on the latest MIUI version?
If Yes, does your phone have these occasional lags and is the battery life still as it used to be on the previous MIUI softwares.
If No, how is the performance like, does it handle day-to-day and regular tasks smoothly.

PS: I upgraded to the latest versions a few days after I bought it, and it isn't how feel like it should be. I think I recall that on the previous Versions it wasn't like this, but I did not stay long, so I am not very certain.
