FamilyRe: Living For Our Kids:should We Really Be? by greatgod2012(f): 12:05pm On Aug 21, 2013
We should all just remember that we are all just caretakers and not real owners, hence no one can live for anyone. The only one who is living for us is our lord and saviour.
That being said, since we are put in their charge to take care of, to nurture and to train up to independence, I think in my opinion, we are obliged to provide them with whatever they might need, finacially, materially, religiously, emotionally, morally, infact in every area, when they are still young and helpless, I mean in their formative years, and at this time also, to inculcate dependency spirit in them, till adulthood, show them love, care, guide them properly, allow them to learn and make mistake and also learn from their mistakes, so that when they grow to maturity/adult, they will live on their own and will not expect anyone to "live" for them.
May God help us all.

Birds of the same feather!
Not surprised, though.
Anyway, I still respect the authority of Gbenga Daniel in Ogun state, despite all the atrocities he committed in that state. He's really a strong man with strong backbone.

As for GEJ, no comment!

He shouldn't be in that list.

FamilyRe: Should I Tell? by greatgod2012(f): 7:39am On Aug 21, 2013
IMO, I will say its better you tell their parents, even though, nothing is going to happen to the kids but it is good to tell their parents. No need to panic or beating around the bush, just tell her(the mum),"I gave your kisd some scoops of ice cream yesternight and it was after they left I saw in the bucket that peanut is one of the ingredients, hope no problem?"

And that settles it.
It is well, my sister.

And why is there so much controversy when it comes to new generation Pastors. New generation Pastors still need some tutorials on how to match charisma with character- Thank God we still have a few older prophets around- they could check out 4m Kumuyi, Adeboye, Ashimolowo and Gbile Akanni.

Saying sorry should be from the heart, if it's said and not meant, hence, behaving otherwise, the other partner will definitely know and it may lead to communication break-down, if after apologizing, nothing positive happened, its either you check yourself or your partner is an unforgiving type.

@bellong, thanks very much, I checked the link and it opened my eyes.

@topic, as you have said, the 3 letter words "I AM SORRY" can never be over emphasized in any relationship. Anyone who is too arrogant to utter the words are mostly going to miss a lot. These three letter words are so powerful, it can make a relationship work and last longer and the lack of it also have the potency to mar a relationship beyond redemption.
I pray for humility to always say sorry o, even when I think I'm right. Amen.
FamilyRe: How Can I Make Him Open Up? by greatgod2012(f): 9:42am On Aug 19, 2013
bellong: When he finds enough reasons to trust you, he will open up to you.

Be yourself and do your best in making the relationship work. Men do not have that skill of pretense for too long, if he is pretending, you will surely know with time. You will see the red flags. If it is his nature to be quiet, then he is putting you under test to be sure he can trust you with everything.

Patience is the key, do not rush him to start opening up to you if the relationship started not long, he will see you as being desperate or with ulterior motive.

In summary, learn patience and take things step by step. It is well with you
This is another angle, maybe he hasn't found you trustworthy enough to be opened to, but as you have said, with patience, time and trust, you will get to know each other better.
FamilyRe: How Can I Make Him Open Up? by greatgod2012(f): 9:37am On Aug 19, 2013
chaircover: Maybe that is his nature. . . . .

If it doesn't go down well with you, tell him, but dont expect to be able to change him, if that is indeed his nature.

You are going to have to decide if you can live with this or not, but dont hold him to ransom in 5 years time, because he has shown you his nature now.
Yes, she has to decide if its what she can live with, especially if they aint married yet, she really has to decide if its what she can live with, so that, it does not become basis for divorce after marriage, because, if that is his person, there is every likelihood for him not to change or to be changed by her.
It is well with you o

duffie: He's really quiet and secretive... undecided
I'm really not comfortable with this..
Buh he's funny and nice... tongue
But the issue is that I've had nasty experiences wwith quiet people, they can be professional pretenders angry ...
If he his nice and funny, then, that is his person. Not everyone can and should be outspoken. I will advise you to accept him the way he is and stop looking for what is not lost, lest you regret your action.

However, if he seems to be too secretive about what concerns your relationship or the two of you, then, humbly ask him the questions in such a way that he'll not be humiliated or embarrassed. All you need is understanding him and treating him accordingly.
May God help you both.

FamilyHow To Solve Communication Problems With Your Partner. by greatgod2012(op): 9:36pm On Aug 18, 2013
Communication problems are something that happens in every relationship. But that does not mean that you give up on your relationship. Here are some ways you can resolve the issue.

Realise your relationship has a problem.
The most important and probably one of the first things to solving this problem is that you acknowledge the fact that you are having problems in your relationship. Once you admit that there is something that is going wrong between the two of you, talking it out will become simpler.

Talk about it.
Normally when you don’t talk at all about your problems, what is bothering you or anything at all with your partner, it tends to bring out a communication problem in your relationship. Often couples don’t seem to recognise this problem and they go about ignoring one another.

Try a different approach.
If nagging and yelling has not come to your rescue yet, try some other way of addressing this problem. Sometimes you just need to find out another way to get your partner hear you out. It can be anything – from emotionally blackmailing him to keeping your attitude and anger in check and talking politely.

Seek professional help.
Just because you are in a relationship that does not mean you can solve every issue by yourself. Sometimes to get some issues solved, you need to ask for professional help to tackle the issue better.

FamilyRe: How Do Your Family Cope With Artificial Foods? by greatgod2012(f): 9:15pm On Aug 18, 2013
@op, as I always say, may God help us o.
This is where we have found ourselves o. I'm not a fan of eateries, I try and prepare our foods at home, but does that means we are eating pure natural foods, I disagree, why?
The beef we eat, were they given natural foods?
The frozen turkey and chicken we cook, were they not preserved with chemicals?
Even the live ones, are they given natural foods?
The catfish we all shout on as enjoyment, were they given natural foods?
Even the snails are commecialised and hence, chemicalised, in order to get them in large quantities.
What about our fruits and vegetables that is even believed to be natural, are they not planted and maintained with chemicals?(Fertilizers)?
All our tomatoes, ata-rodo, tatase, onions etc, are they not all nowadays planted with fertilizers(chemicals)?
Even our so called natural seasonings like ginger, garlic, thyme, curry, etc, are they not all planted with chemicals nowadays, all in effort to have them in large quantity?
What about our maize, cassava, yam, rice, beans, etc, that comprises our major staple food, are they not all planted with chemicals?
Recently, we've been hearing noises about quails and quail eggs, many people are now into quail farming, but alas! , its no longer naturally kept, artificial foods are now being given to them, so that they can lay eggs more than usual, do we now say the chicken and the quail eggs are natural?
Gone are the days we eat organic, natural foods. May God just continue to protect us, this is what civilisation has made us.

No one knows it all.
We are all prone to making mistakes.
But I think he shouldn't have responded that way, it shows he's arrogant, the money he has IMO is now carried in his end.
That is the mistake made by most of our celebrities. Once they have little change, theytend to be arrogant, but life isn't always like that, we learn everyday, even professors can make grammatical blunders, no one knows it all and we should be humble enough to learn and be corrected, no one is an island of wisdom, you know, so, at wizkid, remember that Pride goes before destruction. Instead of that trash you wrote up there as your response, you could have written, "thanks fan, it was an oversight" and that settles it, with that, no one will tag you as arrogant. If you continue like this to your fans, then, I'm sorry for you.
A word is enough for the wise, I just hope youare wise sha.
It is well.

Every loss is accompanied by pain, no loss without pain, so definitely, its gonna be painful and distressing, but as you have said, life must go on.
I will advise that you take courage in the hope that, another better and more glorious one is on the way, also, to admit that, God knows why it happened and also that, you are still alive to have another one, when there is life, there is hope, so always hope for the best and have faith in God that He is the rewarder of those who diligently call on Him.

Though, I've not been there before, but I've also experienced some other form of loss, so, take heart and console yourself that you are not thr first to experience it and you aint going to be the last. Take counsel in your hubby and family as well, and if you have had some kids before this, then, take solace in them, if you haven't had kids before, take solace in the fact that you still have the opportunity to have other and better kids.
It is well.
FamilyRe: Renting An Appartment In an in-Law House, Is It Proper? by greatgod2012(f): 5:17pm On Aug 16, 2013
IMO, no, it isn't proper, there is a saying in my tribe, which says; "okeere l'omo iya ndun"
"Siblings relationship is sweeter with distance"
For example,
There are some family issues that you may not want the extended family members to know its starting point, this type of issue may not be possible while there.
Also, if she lives there as a landlady, there is every tendency for the SIL to be intruding, and you may not be able to resist her, one, because you are an inlaw, and secondly, because you are a tenant.
Well, each to his own sha, but........
"Oju afoifotan, ija nii da sile"

TIME

We all have 60 seconds/minute
60 minutes/hour
24 hours/day
7 days/week
24 months /year
365 days /year and 366 days/each leap year.
The way we utilise our time may differ, but no one has more. It's equally and commonly given to us all by nature.
FamilyRe: Interesting Ways We Are All Alike by greatgod2012(f): 4:24pm On Aug 16, 2013
Another thing that is common to us is interest. We all have interest for one thing or the other, there is no one without interest, while some may have interest for watching football, some, it is watching movies, to some, it is surfing the net, while to some, it is reading books. While all of us may not have interest for the same thing or hobby or doings, it is certain that we all have interest for one thing or the other.
FamilyRe: Interesting Ways We Are All Alike by greatgod2012(f): 4:17pm On Aug 16, 2013
Another thing that is also common to all of us is that, we all possess brain, there is no one born without brain, but the channels we direct the use of our brains may differ. That is story for another day.
FamilyRe: Interesting Ways We Are All Alike by greatgod2012(f): 4:13pm On Aug 16, 2013
We are all born into this world we are.
No one can claim that he or she is dropped from heaven, we are all product of sperm from man and egg from woman, fertilised by sperm, whether we are born by CS or natural birth, the fact remains that we are all identical in the way we get to this world.

Another one is that, we all start our journey of life from infancy, no one can claim to be born adult. We were all kids before we became adult, hence, we are all alike in that aspect.
