You cannot compare what Islam stands for in violence with what these people did. Though awful, if the story were anything to go by, she was a witch. Now, come to Islam, the hundreds and thousands of innocents they kill every now and then, what are their offences? They plan from the mosque and go attack people. But this woman flew into the church where they were holding a programme. Pls, stop churning out those incomparable comparisons.

The covenant university you quoted is a religious institution which is tailored to imbibe that precept strictly. But Umar Musa university is a state government established institution meant to accommodate all the religions in the state. In law, an information accessed after a contract is entered is insignificant. This notice is only accessed when shoppers step into the shop. By opening the shop to would be shoppers, it is an offer by implication. When the shoppers go into the shop, it is an acceptance of the offer. Since the information contained in the notice is an aftermath and do not form part of the conditions for acceptance, it is null and void.

How interesting!! wink Anytime they say that Igbos are the indigenous people of Ibaji in Kogi State, I always laugh!! cheesy

Whoever says ibaji belongs to Igbo is not a good student of history. Ask such a person what ibaji means in Igbo language? In Igala, it means riverriners or river people. The founders were children and bonafide descendants of Idoko, OMA Abutu Eje. They were warriorsvwhom were sent from Ida to Bini, now Benin to wage a war against the Bini people. Igala, having defeated Bini in the previous war, killed Onu Bini and seized the eju b'eju ailo which the Attah Igala uses till date, the Bini people became afraid of the news. The Bini consequently selected their most beautiful women to go and welcome the Igala warriors while they were still afar. They were naked and the Igala warriors slept with them. This act defiled the charm the warrior came with to fight. Consequently, they returned and couldnt fight again. On their way back to Ida, they became afraid of the At a possible reaction of their failure. So, they decided to remain at where is called Onyedega today and sent an emissary to Ida of their plan to settle their. Being a rever-rine environment, they were name 'Ibo-Aji' hence Ibaji today. Thank you.

[quote author=morereb10 post=52428020]Gay Activist Bisi Alimi Blast Nigeria Celebs: They Should Stop Begging For Money When Sick

If you don't know Bisi, then you are new in socials. Bisi Alimi is a gay right activist and he has called on Nigerian celebrities to drop the habit of begging for money whenever they fall ill. Alimi, who stated this on Saturday via his Instagram page said the act was “shameful”.

In his wrote:

[b]“This morning I woke up thinking about the evolving shameful pattern of #Nigeria celebrities begging ordinary Nigerians for help when they are sick. This month alone, I have come across about 3 this month. This act of begging represents the bigger picture of what needs to change in Nigeria. I mean in a country of 180m people, is that not one single person has come up with the idea of providing health insurance for celebrities?

Or these celebs are just so stupid and blinded by their fame and thought that it will last forever and hence failed to plan for their future? Or is there an issue of trust that, Nigerians as people has failed to trust each other enough to trust an insurance company with their money? What happened to celebrities networks? Why can’t these people help each other out? Why always begging the poor ordinary people for money? The same thing the pastors do 365 days of every year.

This has to stop, as a people and a nation we can’t continue to allow this bullshit to continue, it is shameful just like the project call Nigeria.

I get your point. Though being ruled by an Igala king does not necessarily point to Igala origins of the people there. It is on record that in the past, the Atta of Igala aggressively sought to expand his kingdom by conquering clans (I use clans here because back then identities such as 'igbo', 'igala', etc. were frail and all that existed were dialects spoken) south to him down to Nsukka (Igbo North). The Igalas aggressively ventured out of their lands. In some places, they installed their atta to rule over the people. They were travellers. Many settled within the natives in their newfound lands, taking wives from these areas and their children growing up to speak the language of their mothers and their grandchildren and so on and so forth. Some Igalas ventured into Igboland. For example, in Nsukka land, the Igalas succeeded in displacing the native chief priest and installing their attama to mediate between the gods and Nsukka people as a way of subjugating or gradually controlling the people. The Atta sought to conquer Nsukka land but the Nsukkas effectively resisted such that the one main legacy left behind by the Atta confederacy over Nsukka is the Attama chief priesthood. Till today, chief priest in Nsukka is still known as 'attama'. The Akus of Nsukka resisted Igala-led wars into their lands, winning them at lake 'omeluIgala' (meaning winning the Igala), the lake which was named after the victory of the Akus over Igala.

My theory would be that maybe an Igala warrior invaded Akpanya, as they are wont to do, where they met Igbo-speaking natives, later on installed an atta there, took wives from the people however their next generations till today spoke their mother's language instead of Igala. It would be worthy to note that, if this theory is true, only the immediate direct family of this Igala warrior are paternally Igala by ancestry. The overwhelming majority would still be Igbos by blood ruled over an Igala atta who has significant Igbo maternal ancestry.

That of the Egun/Ogu is slightly different. The people complain of discrimination by the Yorubas, who look down on Ogu. Many of them, in their effort to integrate, try to speak Yoruba language instead so as overcome the discrimination. This is the main reason for their speaking Yoruba, and it is not mainly by marriage to Yoruba women. This cannot be said to be for the case of Akpanya. The Akpanya people are not said to have faced some sort of discrimination from Igbos to compel them to speak Igbo instead. Also, marrying of Igbo women should not suddenly change their language, especially if these people were in 'Igala land'. Instead they should have compelled their Igbo wives to speak Igala as it is in most African societies. Igbo women are known to effectively adapt into their husband's places, thus the inter-marriage reason you gave would not really be in effect here.
You have a logical submission there. But in reality, Akpanya is an Igala land, inhabited by Igala, and ruled by Igala. Even the name has it's meaning in Igala language. Secondly, I wanna put it to you that, Igala tribe has never suffered any conquest as you said there. Igala fought the Hausa, killed the infamous Queen Amina of zariaand had her buried at Idea, Igala fouth and won the Benin kingdom twice, Igala won the great Jukum warriors and drowned them, Igala fought, conquered, subjugated the earlier inhabitants of Ida who were Igbos, forced them out and took over the town which remains Igala traditional headquarters till date, fought and subjugated the TIV's and made them subjects until they got their freedom, ruled over the Ebira, Idoma, conquered and install the first Etsu Nupe who was from the Ata lineage. History is enlightening. Cheers.

This story about Akpanya paints a different picture from the reality on ground. 95% of Akpanya people are igbo speaking. They are monolingual. No Igala is spoken there except they travel out to the Igala interior. Speaking Igbo language is way more than just inter-marrying Igbos. People just don't throw away their languages like that. The Igbo speakers, I would guess in greater numbers, may either have arrived there first or arrived later and displaced the original settlers. Either way, the people are igbo-speaking. You can't classify them as Igalas.
To convince you who are the original owners of Akpanya, find out the traditional ruler there to know if he is Igbo or Igala. Igala rules Akpanya. Let me give you instance, if you have visited Badagry in Lagos before you would assume that it is a Yoruba land. But it is owned by the Egwu people. Some of them do not even understand Egwu language anymore. But all of them speak Yoruba language. Would you say they are Yiruba by origin? They still remain Egwu by tribe but predominantly speak Yoruba language. If you have come a Ross Kogi history and documentary, igbos are all settlers sir. The Akpanyas are descendants of Ayegba via Akogwu.

You are welcome. The reason why terrorism is associated with Islam is because of the several Islamic fundamentalists all around the world today. Alquaeda, Boko Haram, ISIS, Alshabab, and a host of others are all Islamists. That is why it is a fact that, all Muslims are not terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims.

Akpanya people are native Igbos. The people of Akpanya speak Igbo as first language, and not Igala except they travel out of the town. The natives are Igbo Christians but there are many Igbo settlers there who are Muslims who converted to Islam and migrated from other areas to the tow due to religious freedom there.

Also, the people of Eke Avurugo (Afulugo) in Kogi state speak Igbo as first language. The village of Odolu is bilingual in both Igala and Igbo.

Yes, there are native Igbos in Kogi state (in Igalamela and Ibaji LGAs). Let us learn to keep facts straight.

Visit this thread if you need more information: https://www.nairaland.com/3443446/igbo-speaking-communities-kogi-state

The indigenous Akpaya people are migrant from Egume in Dekina LG of Kogi state and are complete Igala and they are true descendants of Atah Ayegba of the blessed memory. The Igbo they speak is as a result of inter marriage and close neighbourhood between them and the Nsuka Igbos. The on the other hand ate descendants of Atiele Omidoko, and are freeborn of Igala. Though, there arr Idoma and Igbo residents of Ete too. Those Idomas know that they migrated from Benue state so also the Igbas as it might interest you to know that Ete is a town in Kogi state and neither Enugu nor Benue. I am from that community and I am an Idoma guy.

Please when you said Christian, Christian from what I know and what I practise is the one who emulates the life of that Jew man that taught that if someone slaps you that you should turn the other cheek, to pray for your enemies, to only retaliate when you are offended 70x7 of same deed and in a day, that when you want to preach that if you are rejected that you should dust the dust off your sandals and leave not to invade villages kill off their men, rape their women, marry the beautiful ones then get poisoned by one of them because you are so dumb that after killing my husband you still confidently eat lamb meat prepared by me.
Or is there any other type of Christian you know?

Most of the Muslims do not know that satanic prophet Muhammad died of meat poisoned by a Jewish woman whose husband he killed and married of his wife. They do not read the devil inspired book called qoran which teaches killing, killing, killing and killing. How Muhammad lived a worthy life worthy of emulation baffles me.

Even as a Nigerian, visit a nation like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Egypt, Afghanistan etc, identify with the Muslim community and later denounce the satanic religion. Yes, you are right. Agatu believes that any Idoma from APA local government to other part is corrupt. Agatu is believed to be the original Idoma language. Basically, the bulk of Idoma land migrated from Agatu and Igala. Other parts like Ogbadibo migrated from IBO land predominantly. Bye.

My brother, this place we a discussing is where I belong. Agatu is just a name of a district. We have Agatu, Ochekwu, Adoka, Ugboju, Onyagede and Otukpo districts that made up Otukpo local government in the past. The LG is now splited to Otukpo, APA and Ohimini LGAs now. We are regarded as Idoma north. It may interest you to note that, Agatu is known to be the Original Idoma spoken language as it is the only dialect that is complete in semantics. Whoever that tells you that Agatu is different from Idoma does not know it. It's just a dialectal difference but one indivisible tribe. It is just liken to Ekitu Yoruba and Oyo Yoruba, or Enugu Igbo and Abia Igbo. They all one language but different dialects.
