Gen. Orumov: Many years ago before the widespread use of computers and internet, when you write an exam, you still need to use money to board a bus to the centres you wrote the exam which may not even be in the state you reside. Now that we have computers and internet, you have the luxury of checking your results in the confinement of your homes instead of taking the risks of travelling. The money you ought to spend as transport is what you are know paying the schools. And don't forget, NOTHING IS FREE EVEN IN FREETOWN! well said |

lacidi: TJ don off him fone lol.
It's clear Otedola was trying to set up farouk. I am now convinced that this was actually a sting operation. If you listen, you will notice that Otedola repeated the exact amount being discussed knowing fully well that he was recording the conversation. Also Otedola's retort that the money was in the airport authenticates his earlier claim that Farouk asked him to fly in the money by private jet. Lacidi, you are right. Anyway, let's all watch the abrakatabra as it unfolds. |

This tread is the most hilarious and educating tread i have come across here on NL. @ poster, may God bless and enrich you always.
Please i need your advice. I am a graduate of Geology/Physics from a reputable university in Naija but after spending 3 years in the country without a job, i jetted out of the country where i am not doing bad presently. While i was in Naija, just immediately after my NYSC, i took the HSE leve 2 and 3 certification courses but it did not make job hunting any easier. Now that i have come across this tread, my interest in HSE have just been rekindled. I have made enquiries about the NEBOSH and it will cost me about $1,700 USD. I also would like to take the course alongside another HSE course; Auditor/Lead Auditor OH&S Management System OHSAS 18001 which will cost me about $600 USD. Please i need an advice if this is worth investing into as i will be retunrning to Naija by the end of this year and hope to find a job and stay back home with my new family. Is ot better to do the training here or back in Naija?
Please advice me. God bless you |

Ngwakwe: Fresh N1.5bn fraud rocks House of Reps
•EFCC quizzes NASS officials
By: ADE ALADE Date: Sat, 06/16/2012 - 20:31
Even as the dust raised by the alleged $3 million bribery scandal in the House of Representatives is yet to settle, another storm is already raging in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun investigation into an alleged strange massive cash withdrawals running into N1.5 billion from the House accounts.
Saturday Sun exclusively gathered that the fresh scandal has already led to the invitation and interrogation of about four officials of the National Assembly. It was, however, gathered that the withdrawals were made before the present Speaker of the House, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, assumed office.
Competent sources in EFCC told Saturday Sun that the Bank Fraud unit of the EFCC, which is located in Garki area of Abuja, is investigating the fraud case, which is being treated as “criminal conspiracy, stealing and money laundering.”
The sources confirmed that about four officials so far interrogated over the matter were allegedly used severally to pull out the cash from the House bank accounts “because the cheques were written in their names to cash the huge funds from some banks in Abuja.”
According to a member of the investigating team, who pleaded for anonymity, “the funds were actually withdrawn over a period of time, especially in the last quarter of 2010 and they were withdrawn by some officials in the speaker’s office in millions. For instance, you see junior officers withdrawing millions of naira. In a particular case, a junior officer was asked to withdraw N10 million from Oceanic Bank in August and same person was also asked to withdraw another N20 million from a GT bank account in November same year.”
“In fact, we are also looking into other allegations that one of the officials who is still young in public service has about three estates in Abuja alone and recently went to take a bride in Egypt. We will try to establish his sources of funds and see whether there is a link between the huge cash withdrawals in his name and his expenditures.”
A member of the House who pleaded anonymity however said, “I believe there is more to this sudden focus on the House by agents of the executive. It is beyond a coincidence that one scandal keeps breaking after another as if the House is the only organ of government where these things happen. We believe they are deliberate and targeted.”

The solution to Nigeria problem is when Politicians start exposing themselves. Since 2010 and you kept mute? Are these people playing with our intelligence or what? This EFCC are so incompetent and should be deleted outrightly. |

Why do you sound as if marriage is a hell of bondage? Though am not disputing the fact that there are some unhappy marriages, but there are really a lot of fun, happiness and blessings in marriage. Don't be deceived, what you sow in your marriage is what you will reap. To the both man and wife, if you sow unhappiness in your marriage, you will reap unhappiness. What are the evil trees that bear unhappiness in a marriage? They are; cheating, unfaithfulness, anger , unforgiveness, lies , secrecy, etc. Marry a woman that is pleasing and attracted to you physically, socially , mentally and otherwise and your marriage will be new every morning. Money is necessary but is is not a guarantee to a happy marriage. The book of Proverb provides the greatest counsel to marriage. |

salakobaba: The Ogun State Government on Monday announced its plan to construct the first pedestrian bridge in Abeokuta , the state capital. Governor Ibikunle Amosun says the bridge will be air-conditioned. The bridge will be built around the famous Ibara roundabout of the ancient town, and is expected to reduce traffic congestion and accidents at the ever busy junction. Mr. Amosun made the disclosure while commissioning the 2.5km Ibara-Ita-Eko road in Abeokuta which gulped a total of N1.3bn http://premiumtimesng.com/news/national/5340-ogun_to_construct_air-conditioned_pedestrian_bridge.html N1.3bn for a 2.5km road? olajide_07: If GEJ is just realising now because a few northern governors said they wouldn't support him come 2015, he should have known 6 months ago, that nigerian's had and were leaving him, because of his clueless"ness" and direction"lessness" let me state out all the mistakes of the president see just a few; SECURITY- encouraging boko haram by not wiping them out when he had the opportunity to CORRUPTION- by withering the power of Efcc and making them a redundant ineffective parastal his wife Dame is now the person issuing government contracts she is the acting president while he is the acting first lady. POWER- by spending more money on darkness and promising in his words we vow to increase power of late he wanted to fraudulently steal from us again by increasing the price/tariff of what we do not have electricity. ECONOMY- by spoiling and increasing the level of inflation he met a mudu of beans at N200 now it goes for N320 a 70% or less percent increase. FUEL - he unilaterally increased the price without recourse to nigerian's interest on the first of January, they also increased the price before thinking of, in his governments words "palliatives" (our rights are now palliatives) the subsidy probe, they want to sweep under the carpet, my take they assessed the probe to see that they wouldn't find anything against or case against themselves, before they decided to allow efcc to probe the case "malabu oil block" case numb case. EDUCATION- it has become so muddled up they don't know what to do, imagine UTME choosing different entry points for students, they can't scrap NBTE, colleges of education commission, they don't want to unify the schools and bring them apar NEPOTISM and FAVOURITISM -can be said to be GEJ hallmark DISRESPECT FOR NIGERIANS- imagine sending soldiers to lagos to stop nigerian's from doing a peaceful protest against all the wrongs of the government. very well said |
