Hello guys, I'm here to share my whole admission to visa experience on this German waka. I hope this lightens the mood here because I know the mood around here is down .

So I've been on my German journey since late 2018, I tried applying to many schools for Msc admission and got loads of rejection which dampened my mood but I decided I was not going to relent. So all through 2019 I was seeking admissions in public schools and I wasn't getting any, I guess because my course of study was in high demand (Data science) which requires the best Bsc result.

In the midst of this rejection offers I decided not to relent and was a follower of this German visa thread on nairaland. I began to notice that even with admission letters, appointment letters at the Embassy was not forthcoming and so I decided to leave Nigeria.

Early this year I decided on moving to Turkey, with the aim of staying six months and then moving to Germany, at this point I had no German admission yet but I decided on pursuing it. I came to Turkey in March and during the whole lockdown I started looking out for more schools to apply to in Germany.

My plan was very simple, I would come to Turkey , stay for six months with their residence permit and then apply for German visa after getting admission to Germany. So, I was sending applications here and there while I was in Turkey here and BOOM I finally got an admission to one of the best schools in Germany (top 10 percent worldwide). At this point I already had my Turkish resident permit and was waiting for my six months to complete before I apply for the German study visa at the Embassy here.

Finally, the six months elapsed, and then I began the visa application process which was very simple and fine .

The Process here in Turkey is very simple:

1. They have a third-party body (iData) that you book visa appointments through.
2. You pay about 69 Turkish lira which is an equivalent of (4500 naira) and then they tell you in two weeks you'll get an appointment to go to the Embassy. Mine came in 9 days.
3. They sent me the required documents and everything I needed to take to the Embassy which was not a problem at all. Required documents were blocked account confirmation ( I used expatrio), health insurance which expatrio provides, original copy of your degree certificate, visa application form and biometric passport photographs and most importantly 75 euros and motivation letter.
4. And so I went to the Embassy, guys it was very smooth there.. no stress whatsoever. I got to the Embassy on time . Had a wait time of 20 minutes and then it was time to talk to the visa officer.
5. The interview questions were smooth though plenty, I advice for preparation and calmness. So at the end of the interview the visa officer told me I will be given a visa decision in 4-6 weeks and so I left.
6. Guys, exactly one week after my visa interview , I received a call from the Embassy that my passport and other documents are being shipped by UPS and they are calling to confirm my home address. I responded accordingly and they said in 2 - 3 days I will receive my documents.
7. I am glad to say I received my passport with the visa stamped.

I can say I am ready to travel to Germany and start a new phase in my life..

Cheers Everyone!! For everyone still trying and hoping to leave Nigeria for Germany or anywhere else, I believe everyone's dreams and wishes will come to pass.

Thank God it's still alive and well. I remember many of us promising then to come back here to give account of our journey in Germany, hopefully someone can pick one or two things. Honestly, I do not know anything about visa application procedure anymore, so I'm not the best person to advise on that. I was here in 2014, when I was planning to move to Europe and I found this beautiful thread. I moved to Germany in 2015 and I've been there since. One thing I am going to tell the new guys here is, please do not choose just any course of study all because you want to leave Nigeria. The money you'll be spending is too much for you to graduate with a degree that's not so much in demand in Germany. Germany is a beautiful land of many opportunities if you are ready to tap into it. I know not everyone can be in IT, or engineering but at least research well about the job opportunities of your desired course. Another important point is, please attend Goethe institute to get at least A2, or best case B1 German. Once you can speak good German, I can assure you that even during your studies, you may not wash dishes or do shitty jobs (pardon my lamguage). My point is LEARN THE LANGUAGE. I studied agricultural economics msc. And the thing is, many of the Nigerians in my set or those before me have either left Germany back to Nigeria or went somewhere else. Reason: they didn't get a job. I was lucky to get an internship in my first year of study to gain experience with a very big company here in Germany and that experience speaks alot for me. So another hint is, during your study try to apply for internships (you might be lucky coupled with the fact that you can speak German). In my case, I got only A1 which was not enough but I learned more here. Furthermore, after my studies, I got my first interview same month I graduated, and I tot life is so easy, it'll come in handy. That job didn't come. So I was sending cvs. The hard part now is from my first interview to another, it took several months and with a lot of rejection that got me depressed at one point. I was already putting leaving Germany as one of my options. Sometimes, I get 5 rejections in a day or even more. Mind you it has noting to do with grade. What else can be demoralizing than that? You see yourself as an Msc graduate doing all manners of jobs. I MEAN ALL MANNERS (legal though) of jobs just to keep busy and soul together. I got so depressed. Then I'm seeing my many colleagues (particularly those we came from Africa together) leaving Germany for other places. Somehow somehow, a light came at the end of the tunnel and I've been there since. One sweet thing is, once you get a job after study here, the time to get a permanent residence is shortened to 2 years. So it's nice to include. This was a promise I made back in 2015 because I felt people don't really come back here to say what they faced and how easy or difficult it was but here I am keeping that promise. So if you're a starter here, goodluck to you, God will pace way for everyone of us.

I am in the USA, I Studied International Business Masters. So i got a conference in International Business in one of the Universities in the USA in 2018 and i travelled for the conference and came back to Germo mean while you may be given 2 years visa when you apply for conference so that is how i left, i am not studying here i am tired of studies. I wanna make money. COVID has changed alot but after the covid i believe things will be better so if you must apply for a conference get one that relate to your field of study paid or unpaid, package yourself well. Be so confidence on your interview day, when answering questions from visa Officer look directly to his or her eyes ( make eyes contact) you must know or research more on the conference to defend yourself, relate the conference to one of your course if the visa Officer ask may be. Make sure you are either in your 2nd or 3rd semester so that they will not bounce you.

I wanna ask something that might sound foolish or insensible, pls don't be offended...

For those who has gotten their visa or are currently self sponsoring their schooling...

How do you guys pay for your tuition fees and the same time focus on study?? Like the money is so huge and you also have accommodation and all to take care of?

I got admission but I am actually scared because I will be the one sponsoring my education and all... I am 18 thanks.

Yes it's possible, in fact someone on this thread transferred from uni Ilorin to Texas . just make sure you have enough credit units to transfer.
What you need to do now is to check up with the admission office of the school you want to transfer so as to know if you are eligible or not.
Please this is the little I know oh.

but why do want to transfer na?

Good people.I need your help and enlightenment on this my people.

I graduated 2014 with2.57Gp BSc mass communication, I will like to study in Belgium for my master in any related course . I need help on how to search for schools, how to apply to schools that will give admission and the embassy procedures for visa. Thanks God bless

Search for schools through Google or masters portal site cool

The procedures are quiet simple;

1. Get your health certificate
2. Get your police clearance

__ Pay your home administration fee

3. Legalize your documents at ministry of education
4. Legalize too at ministry of foreign affairs
5. Send your legalize documents to the Belgium embassy
6. Embassy sends back to you
7. You send the documents to VFS to send to the embassy
8. Embassy screen your documents then sends an appointment through email
9. You attend the appointment
10. Then wait for the decision grin

Lol, I am one year and three months in Germany and my own story is different.
Well, let me start by saying that we all have different ways of seeing things and we are all different.
I really love Germany. I have saved alot of money within my 1yr 3 months of being a student, I mean millions of naira.
Imagine what will happen if I stay for five years here. I see myself really making waves in Germany honestly.
If language is a barrier, then break it, also consider going into the IT field because they demand lesser German and there are more opportunities there too.
My number one priority after my studies is being a German citizen by either getting a professional job or by marriage.
Then after getting my German citizenship, even if I must leave Germany, then it must be in a country with a higher probability of making more money, maybe I can try the USA or Australia but not Canada. Canada is obviously poorer than Germany and their Economy is tied to oil which is declining now in value due to the recent global adoption of renewable energy. I also heard of the high rate of unemployment among educated people without Canadian experience to the extent that many Ph.D. holders drive Taxi to make money. There are many qualified individuals living there due to the express entry and whatever you think you think you know, there are thousands who know it better thereby making the competition higher especially if you don't have Canadian experience.
For me, it is one of the best countries if your aim is permanent residency because they give it faster than most countries, but if your aim is making lots of money, then America and Australia offers a better option.
The cost of living is also very high thereby making you earn to pay bills and save little, and the weather is very cold.

Not trying to discourage you but make sure you do your research very well before jumping from frying pan to fire, it's not easy anywhere and the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know.

Why is it always IT this, IT that, I am really tempted...

Pls can you help me on a direction? Can I take you as a mentor?

David will never grow up
What makes u think they're hating on you cuz you're from a rich home
Are they broke or poor ?

What can David afford that burna boy can't get for himself ?
You made a diss song and you have to stand firm to backup that song and that's exactly what you're going through
David ask yourself one question, which popular celebrity has come out to defend you ?
Which of your signees or close friends have come out to defend you openly?

That's why it's good to roll with men and not with boys , men will feed you wisdom and boys will make u act childish
Even if they know the truth they can't tell you cuz they feed from u
Obo roll with men and not boys simple

Settle out ur differences with your industry mates that's what adults do
Nobody have a problem with Wizkid , if it's Wizkid that got attacked by burna boy you must surely see many top celebs coming out into the matter
But everyone already know you to be temperamental and rude in handling things

No hate though but TBH davido got nothing on burna boy
He has no edge over burna boy anytime any day
The connection you got , burna also has it

In Lagos State entirely burna got more killers , burna is fvcking street to the core
Davido only had goons in Atlanta , he's not from the ghetto unlike burna

Let him keep his pride aside before he'll get himself shot

I like your vibes...

Can we be friends
