PoliticsRe: BBC Claims Abuja Was Built On Stolen Land by greatmen: 7:14am On Oct 20, 2013
Ermmm Mr pro British I hope you still remember your surname or probably its lost and you have a name like table or jack or big brain funny the British Empire did not only steal lands they stole generations and identity please trace your roots grin grin
Where am I from? - it's Friday and I'm a little bit tipsy, so I can't remember where I'm from tbh. However, I can remember this is a topic about international law; if Abuja is technically a stolen land or not; and the rights of the indigenous people.

Ever heard about the case between Chagossians + Mauritius vs. United Kingdom over Chagos Archipelago? I know Nigeria is a sovereign country, however, the law is the law. Anyway, I'm just having fun with the topic and trying my best possible to educate people, should in case the indigenous people of Abuja wake up tomorrow and ask for their land.

Have fun. wink[/quote]

shymexx: Brother, relocated or not - is it their ancestral homeland? - Yes it's. The fact that they now live in shanty homes is enough for the international community to have empathy on them, if and when they're ready to fight for what rightfully belongs to them - or to seek compensation.

They definitely have a case at the UN and I'm sure a lot of countries would support them. UN doesn't joke with the rights of indigenous people especially when it comes to lands. Even Israel that gets a pass all the time - of late, there have been reservations, from the UN, about their land-grab. And for the ones they sold - they have to be on leasehold and their children should be able to go back and claim them.

PS: why did BBC call Abuja a "charmless" city? - I can't deal. These journalists are nuts! grin

Everybody hates Nigeria! undecided
abeg were you from cause it seems your brainwashed or just blind!

jennykadry: Why won't the expats come back when they are being treated like gods in Nigeria more than they are in their own country. Even Asians are worshipped in Nigeria and it makes me mad that these people are worth nothin back in their country.

Nigeria is that one stoopid country that will prefer to give a good job to a foreigner instead of to their own citizens. These whites have their own drivers, servants running around in their homes in Nigeria, let them try it in their country and see how much they will pay their drivers or baby minders per hour. These people are well taken care of in Nigeria and it makes me wanno go crazy that will give them so much opportunities that we give our citizens.

In 2010 at the MMIA (Lagos airport) a Dutch woman was treated like a queen at the customs while we Nigerians were spoken to like commoners. What a disgrace that nation is.

Like the expats and Asians in Nigeria, a foreign country-home away from home..... why would I wanno leave a country that treats me right and go back to my own country where I am not regarded or treated like a queen?......what an irony.
Really your not significant to the country with or without you enough of this crap have trvlled the wrld why do Nigerians living abroad some not all feel they r bettr off you knw also ur treated like shit to in does nations so shut ur trap

agitator: This your obsession with Lagos, hhhhhhhmmmmmmm. Hope you will not be surprised when casala burst.

Lagos was once the capital of Nigeria. People from rural areas still troop to state capitals in search of gold. Just like the people in the remote villages of the United Kingdom used to think the walkways of London were paved with gold.

When you are sober, just reflect a bit on what will happen if eventually there is an ethnic war.

Do you think your banks can operate in your enemies territory, or
SHELL, AGIP, MOBIL, ELF, NNPC and all other multinational oil and oil service companies will still have their corporate head office in Lagos for you to get jobs with mouth watering salaries?
Also put into consideration, this time the war will be widespread unlike the previous one that the whole nation was on one side against the Ibos.

DON'T PRAY FOR WHAT YOU CAN'T CONTEND WITH.
tell them you think the niger deltans wld sit back too trust me the ibos wnt be alone this time please dnt pray for war

playmode: I will come back to Nigeria permanently when our police officers are trained properly, armed with pistols instead of assault rifles, equipped with radios, equipped with tazers to subdue suspects without the use of lethal force while their assault rifles remain inside their car. This is how it is done in other civilized countries.Nigerian police are too militarized hence why they exchange gunfire with our soldiers and kill civilians at will.

anonimi: And what did brave ex-soldier OBJ do when the same north introduced Sharia huh

Your president GEJ by your estimate is "cowardly & confused murraforker" because you and others who see him as such are even more of such qualifying adjectives.

Can you please tell us what your non-cowardly LGA boss and councillor have done for you lately?
Do you get locked up every last Saturday of the month for ENVIRONMENTAL sanitation that the LGA is already paid to do?

Just a very TINY example of why you are even more "cowardly & confused murraforker".

BTW, can we hear a political-ogist opinion on Kano being on or off the list. Political scientists and MILITARY STRATEGISTS are more likely to view things from a broader perspective than a criminologist who should be helping the POLICE deal with petty & big crimes. We are talking here about TERRORISTS who are rapidly getting territorial and need to be dealt with by the ARMED FORCES!
totally agree u make sense die

Makbo: I sincerely expressed my compassion to the brave Nigerian people. But let me bring to your attention this fact that is pouring curse and scorns over Nigeria today: Goodluck Jonathan helped a rogue and devilish islamist regime take power in Cote d'Ivoire, in the name of fighting for democracy. He ignored the sufferings and tears of Ivorians and joined the international plot against Cote d'Ivoire to safeguard his own then ailing presidency. Alasan Ouattara is in power now and his islamist bandits are now killing thousand and thousand of Ivorians. Every single day they murdered and jail Ivorian Christians. Ouattara Alasan has never won the elections in Cote d'Ivoire but he was supported by France through a demonizing campaign against the legitimate president of Cote d'Ivoire, Laurent Gbagbo.
Don't you think what is hitting Nigeria now is a curse?
