If someone else won and became the President instead of you, would you have kept quiet?
All the inflammatory statements you made during the Jonathan era are on the internet, because it doesn't forget. Now that it is your time, you feel people should be patient and conduct themselves. It is harder to appeal to hungry people than you people think.

Business › Re: Naira Trades At ₦1,520 Per Dollar by GreatrAnalyst: 6:36pm On Jan 31, 2024 |
Jonathan8: [quote author=Throwback post=128219051]Tinubu made it clear that the dollar should trade for whatever value those who are demanding it are willing to pay for it.
The question then is why are Nigerians so concerned about the naira value of the dollar?
The exchange rate is not a value of our local economy.
We were never a bigger economy than the USA when our Naira traded higher to a dollar on the 1960s and 1970s.
The UK is not a bigger economy than the USA despite the exchange rate between the British Pound and the US Dollar.
The government should focus on our local economy and achieving local sustenance, and ignore the exchange rate speculators.
As long as the average Nigerian can get all their needs and have enough left for savings and investments for the future, the exchange rate would be nothing but a number, just as it was when we had a higher exchange rate but a poorer economy compared to the US economy.
You are a simp. How can you not be concerned in a country where her economy depends largely on import? You wanted to appear smart but your foolishness betrays your clumsiness. If exchange rate is nothing, why did Senate have to summon the CBN governor? How many times have the common household items doubled in price in the last 365 days or even tripled, for some? So you can't draw a line between why items are ever on the rising trajectory perpetually and why Nigerians are groaning because their take-home can't take them home? How many things do Nigeria produce locally or that are used in producing many of them? You are here mumbling as "long as Nigerians can get all their needs and have enough left.. " You are badly representing those paying you. You should do better... |

With dangerously attacking teams like Angola, Cape Verde, etc, you can't afford not to have a fully fit and sharp goalkeeper at the post.
Uzoho will singlehandedly ensure that team doesn't qualify out of the Quarterfinals. You don't want them to use a goal keeper who is not so fit which is good, but your last statement got me laughing so hard The fear of Uzoho... |

Politics › Re: Ibadan: Atiku Replies Makinde Over Claims On Refusal To Commiserate With Him by GreatrAnalyst: 11:34am On Jan 30, 2024 |
muykem: Atiku didn't handle it well. It is not about publication, Atiku is duty band to have called the governor directly if he cannot physically present. Politics is a game and interest-based and Nigerian version is dirty. Atiku couldn't call him directly because Oyo Governor took side with Wike who plotted against Atiku from becoming the President. You remember the G5 governors? Seyi Makinde has by default pitched tent against welcoming the President from the overall PDP party by the reason of his affliation to Wike who was opposed to northern President when there was already a northern party chairman. But Wike too had agenda in all of it though. He was the one who pushed for northern party chairman ahead of time so that he too could be qualified as Presidential candidate for PDP from the southern part in order to edge out Atiku. It is what it is. The ally of your enemy will eventually look like an enemy. It is Nigerian politics, it is dirty as it comes. |

Elections have come and gone and all the court cases have been settled as well.
I've never seen this side of him before
Nlfpmod this account Cooldowntemper keeps stalking me everywhere and breaking the rules of this platform. Most people complain when the narrative doesn't suit their personal interest. His person became the President, you won't see him speak against how election went. People won't bother themselves about oppression in as much they are not the one one being oppressed. I don't care who Obi is, nor where Tinubu comes from... rather I am interested in who emerges in an honest and fair way. This stance I just mentioned is what is difficult to take by most of this so called activists, including Prof. Wole Soyinka. The recent time has shown this about him. Professor never criticized the malpractices in the last election; here he is asking complainers to table their grievances with proofs? Which proofs? Before which court or judges? The corrupted ones? His bias has never been so justified until now |

RingRoadCartel: Is this man insane? Okay, so since it didn't happen, who sai? Is Nigeria better off? Are Nigerians enjoying the fruits of Democracy? Is there really any difference BTW what we call democracy in this country and an actual military dictatorship?
As far as we know, this one is worse because in the military things are done fast and decisively, whereas what we have here is a situation whereby other arms of government still worship the executive, but still there's a lot of bureaucracy which makes policy making tideous and much more expensive.
Don't even get me started on how the so-called democratic government doesn't listen to the judiciary. They detain innocent people for as long as they like regardless of how many times the courts have freed them. Tell me, what is really different? This one is even worse because it is more expensive to run! What he said just confirms that Tinubu is his cordial person. That's not a problem in itself, where the problem is, is being unable to speak truth because it is your friend or person that's in power. It is true that most activists in Nigeria protest because the oppression they voice out against doesn't favour their own cause. But it does, they lose their voices |
