I would have advised you to reinstall Windows 7,but since you just bought it, return it,that laptop is likely faulty. That's Nigeria for you,the seller knows the laptop is faulty,still went ahead to sell,just to make money, forgetting about the ordeal of the person that buys it.

The reason many Nigerian artists don't last long is because when they loose inspiration to write good songs,they relapse to obscurity. Hello NL computer gurus,

I recently installed Windows 10 Operating System on my Laptop having moved on from Windows 7. My experience using the new OS has been nothing short of thrilling as Windows 10 is far better than Windows 7 I have been used to ever since I learned how to use a computer independently.

However, I noticed that there seems to be a lot of Windows update going on in the system and my source of internet is through an HSPDA modem which has an Airtell SIM on it. Ultimately, it burns my data very fast.

I checked for how to set my Internet access as a metered connection but there seems to be no option for that (DialUp) except for Wifi.


Please is there any other way I can meter this connection so as to reduce what the OS does with it thereby stopping some not dire updates. Between yesterday and this morning, more than 1.8GB has already been burnt whereas what I have done with the system is simply writing and on Wordpress and basic browsing.

Please help me out.

Guys please my windows 10 is misbehaving ; just after it loads the desktop background after I entered password (on booting the PC), it'll load the icons and immediately go blank and refresh itself load the icons again and go blank (for 2-5 secs) and refresh itself again and that's the cycle. It doesn't load the file explorer icoon that used to be at the base with windows and cortana icons.though it'll load windows and cortana icons.
Pls what should I do. I've tried using escape button to check run diagnostics but it gets stuck at 4%.

PC is made up of hardware and software.
You have to troubleshoot to check if it has hardware or software problem.
Hardware problems are:
1. Ram is faulty: remove the ram and place it back, restart your PC and see.
2. Hard drive: very unlikely from what you wrote up there. But HDD malfunction is a possibility.
3. Motherboard: A faulty motherboard is the nightmare of any PC user,cos you are likely about to lose your PC. One major symptom of faulty motherboard is system going off by itself.
Software problems:
1. Windows Os: Your PC won't even boot to desktop if windows is corrupted,but you can never tell. Try to boot into safe mode and see. Or use cmd to carry out mbr repair or scan drive for error or do system restore.
2. Applications: recently installed software can prevent our system from starting properly. Especially those with virus or malware. Use system restore to restore your PC to an earlier state.
