In Goal.com's Matchday preview they have predicted the outcome to be:

Egypt 1 - 1 Nigeria

Team News: Nigeria

Nigeria will be banking on the return to fitness of strikers Yakubu Ayegbeni and Obafemi Martins as well as the recovery of Osaze Odemwingie from a sore throat during camping in Durban

Team News: Egypt

Egypt have come to this tournament without the services of their star midfielder Mohamed Aboutreika who is nursing an injury. It will be interesting to see how Shehata works with a new creative midfielder who can fill the shoes of the influential Al Ahly strongman. Also missing are Mohamed Barakat, Mohamed Homus (scorer of the lone goal victory over Italy at the Confederations Cup) and Amr Zaki. Dortmund striker Mohamed Zidan is rearing to start from where he left off in Ghana 2008 when he scored a brace in the 4-2 demolition of Cameroon in the group’s opening game.

SportsRe: Go Away And Dont Come Back, Caf Tells Togo by GTay(m): 3:20pm On Jan 11, 2010
I think

CAF was right in allowing the Tournament to continue
TOGO is right in mourning the deceased; and also returning home

What i read is that TOGO has now requested for 3 days of mourning and permission to be allowed back to continue in the tournament

The problem with this is that they never stated this intent clearly.

The initial reactions of the Prime Minister was to declare:

We understand the approach of [the] players who wanted to express a way to avenge their fallen comrades, but it would be irresponsible on the part of the authorities to let them continue,

"The team must return today [Sunday]. The government's decision is unchanged.

"It is a conscious decision since Friday. If a team or a person present themselves under the banner of Togo, it would be a false representation.

"It is left to you [the other countries] to decide to stay in a competition synonymous of fraternity, brotherhood, friendship and solidarity.

"And in case you decide to leave the competition, we will definitely understand your decision and it will be accepted

If they had requested for some days to mourn initially, CAF would have made arrangements for them to still participate. Simple!
