Sometimes I blame Igbos for always chiosing not to embrace the North as brothers. Once there is proper hand shake between North and Igbos. Trust me you will know the true definition of slaves
They call you yanmiri, we don't call you such names. Ibos have no understanding of what friendship and loyalty means.

Gowon is northerner being controlled by Hausas. Come to think of it, has any yorubas man be brave enough to conduct a coup talk more of leading WAR?
Why is coup making a badge of honor? This is like asking why are Yorubas not in Malaysian death row for drug smuggling.
Do you have the equivalence of Victor Banjo or Adekunle Fajuyi or even Benjamin Adekunle?

Yoruba lead which war?, What of Gowon?, Please I can accept yoruba supported the war but not lead. Hausas led the war. That is why till date The NORTH OWNS NIGERIA. Can you imagine if Hausa(true war leaders) merge with Igbos to fight youbas? Mehn that wil be amagidon for Yorubas
Technically, Gowon (not an Hausa man)led the war as the commander in chief. 3MCDO took it from there. We all own Nigeria, only people who are mentally and physically defeated parrot such nonsense as the north own Nigeria.

Yoruba are cowards. End of. The time Falae was kidnapped they retaliated burning and harassing Fulani folks. Now what? Empty chest beating. And nothing will happen.

If unfortunately, Falae is killed by Fulani's we'll be here when his townspeople are crying Egba mi o! And nothing will happen.
Of course, we are still waiting for what became of this particular case where people were actually killed.

Don't mind him. Even a Yoruba, Victor Banjo had to lead the only pitiful offensive carried out by the biafrans.

So, in your infinite wisdom Yorubas should wait like sitting ducks and let the same thing happen in their land?

You cannot mention modern day Yoruba and war in same sentence. It is a past-present-future impossible tense.
That reminds me the black scorpion. You are completely right, while Iboland was on fire, people in Yorubaland hardly knew a war was raging on. We would rather it to be on the enemy's territory.

Yari.ba majorly contributed to the unstructured Nigeria. Nigeria is dysfunctional today because Yari.ba played a cowardly hand in 1966. I guess this demeanor could not be unrelated to the fact that most Yari.ba people were under certain emirates.
Nigeria is dysfunctional because ibos could not see beyond their noses. They tried to use violence to get what they could have gotten with the stroke of a pen.
Act first and think later.

Two things:

1. What does "give me what I want or else..." mean? If the Federal Government refuses to restructure, didn't the article mention using all means to achieve its aim? Let's not play naiive... violence is implied. Even a child understand what this threat means... an ass wuppin. grin

2. Let's be serious. The Federal Government has superior firepower, and when the chips are down, the UN respects firepower much more than it respects documents and declarations (as history has shown). In other words, if Oduduwa is serious, he should arm himself very very very well.
The Federation is buckling under the weight of injustices across the country. The people who love the country are those asking to make it a more just and peaceful federation. If you doubt me just read the newspaper headlines today.

Did you or your people remember people had a life and could die when you are backing the wrong horse in 2015?

We screamed, we shouted ourselves hoarse, we tried everything to make you see reason but you were fixated like a hypnotised person on the greed of being the VP.

Now after a wrecked economy, high fuel prices, hopelessness and uncountable murders of innocent people, you guys are trying to pull a fast one on us by shouting restructuring?

Whoever trusts your people will be betrayed.
The damage done by Jonathan will take years to fix. Don't be too narrow minded, this is beyond Jonathan and Buhari.
If you like sit on the fence as usual, paralyzed by fear of Yoruba playing a fast one on you.

I can understand and appreciate this. But if state governors looked inwards and capitalized on their unique strengths, they won't need to go hand in cap, and over decades, can assert more and more of their own independence and authority (which is really only possible with growing economic strength). This would actually be much more productive than the calls for restructuring which - by itself - won't put food in peoples stomachs, or suddenly result in great healthcare.

You mentioned the existing constitution was carefully negotiated by the federating units... including the ones clamoring for break away. Weren't they the same who agreed to the Constitutions, and to be bound by them?

When IPOB was doing its own nonsense last year, I said the same thing... Igboland would be much better served focusing on improving economic conditions, and grooming its children so they become part of the ruling elite. As an example: an Igbo child is more likely to go into trade than to go into government administration. Conversely, you'll find a lot of Hausa/Fulani children going into the civil service as recruits/clerks/porters/guard/cleaners. As the years go by and promotions are made, the core of leaders in the civil service will consist mostly of people in the civil service (i.e. Hausa).

Yes, there is solid evidence of Northerisation agenda, as made explicit by Sir Ahmadu Bello (who I respect for his position and efforts towards his people, yet am sincerely disappointed in his positions towards people like me not from the North), and being continued till this day under Buhari.

Nevertheless, I think we have made great progress away from the mindset of people born before Independence. I think we owe it to future generations of Nigerians to continue to seek more fruitful ways of nation building together, rather than seeking the exit at every opportunity, in spite of whether we were thrown together in a marriage of convenience or not.
I meant the independence constitution, not the current one. The current one was written by the military.

Lol. Secede where?

There was never a need to.
How come a PHD holder led ibos to reject a secession clause in the constitution! Papa Awo saw what could happen. Perhaps they shouldn't have called it a secession clause but a "break of agreement clause" which states that any undemocratic change in the Constitution will render it null and void.

Lol

There are only two ways of leaving Nigeria:

You either become a secessionist like Ojukwu, declare your independence and fight for it no matter the consequence.

Or

You become an Nnamdi Kanu and take up agitation and challenge the powers that be to give you a referendum

The stuff of character needed to be either Ojukwu or Kanu is rarely found amongs Yorubas. This makes any talk of leaving Nigeria by them laughable. It takes more than mere talk to leave Nigeria
I don't think it is rare at all in the Yoruba nation. We achieve whatever we set our minds to achieve. History will bear us witness on that. If we decide to leave Nigeria, be rest assured Nigeria is finished. We are not ibos.
