I think you don't clearly understand the expression "Historical document". If you have any about Oba Oranmiyan then please share.
But you have none, nobody has ! Because We didn't have a written language when Oba Oranmiyan is said to have lived.
It is weird how you guys keep trying to punish me for being honnest. You must be real full blooded 419.
Barely two posts and you are calling me names. It shows how interested you are in the subject matter or perhaps the depth of your reasoning.

history2901:
I don't have any historical document about Oba Oranmiyan, therefor I can not have a rational discussion about him. Therefor I pass.
If you have no historical knowledge of Oranmiyan then you have no business discussing where the title "Oba" came from.
Culture › Re: Oba Rilwan Akiolu Has Allegedly Said That Lagos Is Not Part Of Yoruba Land by Guestlander: 3:24pm On May 04, 2017
history2901:
Kindly read my post about wikipedia. And then come back for a serious discussion.
Wikipedia is not a historical document, nor even a trusted source of information in these matters.
You should kindly refer to historical documents such as pre-colonial papers or even colonial papers calling people and their titles.
Nw that is history
How come Oranmiyan was the first ruler of Benin to be called Oba? Was the title specially invented for him by the Benin people?

you can go and say that to the oba of lagos
Some family bear Oshodi as their last name in Ekiti, Eti Osa in simple Yoruba means the bank of the lagoon. I don't think the Oba of Lagos though an oddball would write all these things.

Balkan:
Do u know that all 9 members of RCCG governing council are Yorubas? Do u also know that no Igbo man is a Bishop in the Living Faith church( Winners Chapel)? No Igbo Man is also a superintendent at Deeper Life Bible Church? Do you also know that no Igbo man is also a senior Pastor @ Daystar Christian center? Neither any one @ Kingsway International Christian Center?
The Igbos should know that the Messiah will come from among its people. The disciples of Jesus Christ are Galileans like him, they should stop pumping money into other tribe projects and yet complain about Igbo marginalisation. We should start with what we can control. Go to any church but ensure that part of your tithe and other big donations go to Igbo churches because soon "it will be to your tents oh Israel"
Please send until it gets to all Igbo sons & daughters, because even in heaven, as on earth, there is hierarchy and little segregation.

When you realise how much money that leaves the east every Monday you will realise why Yorubas would not want you to get Biafra.

Have you ever seen a yoruba man read SUN news paper or champion news paper.

How many Yorubas would you find in a church where an Igbo man is the founder.

They hate you to the extent they will not let their houses to you unless there is no choice than to give you the house.

How many Yorubas bank with Fidelity bank or diamond bank.

Your real enemy is known to you yet you look the other way round.

How much have you donated to your home church? Igbo make use of your brain.

The mod will definitely throw this away because they would not want you to know the truth.

Please this message is only for igbo awareness
And most importantly, you forgot to add how many Yoruba cares about your puerile analysis.

False prophesy and "shayo" induced hallucinations. I can't understand this type of morbid prophesy from Nigerian pastors. They hardly see someone who will survive anything, only people who will die.

AyakaDunukofia:
A good nation brings out the best from his citizens. Anthony Joshua is a British born and not 'Nigerian born' as claimed by the OP. Born in Watford by Scottish father. He is a member of the British Empire, MBE, flying the Union Jack Flag. Would die and be buried honorably in the UK. Any sublimal, subtle claim of this man is laughable

His, is a story of grass to grace. Anthony Joshua, nine years ago was a BRICKLAYER ecking out a living from London's construction sites. No one remembered him then.

Simply done well for himself, his family, his British trainers and the UK government.
He doesn't deny his Nigerian heritage, his father is Irish-Nigerian, his mother a Nigerian. He once lived in Nigeria and still have families in Nigeria what else do you need. Why shouldn't Nigerians be proud of him?
He himself is proud of Nigeria enough to get a map of Nigeria tattoo on his body.

Countries like Brazilian, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Namibia, USA and some others are making billions from meat export, something we can easily replicate in Nigeria with good leadership and some people are here trying to convince themselves why they must eat beached whales and stranded manatees.

Unfortunate fish, landed on one of the most hostile coastal waters on the planet. From Lagos to Calabar, if you are a whale, manatee, dolphin, a sea turtle or any marine life slightly larger than a minow please don't stray, or you will be eaten.

How are they sure that story is not planted?

Literature › Re: Wole Soyinka's 1986 Nobel Prize, A Monumental Fraud. See WHY by Guestlander: 7:07pm On Apr 17, 2017
Neoguru6:
The Nobel prize for literature won by Wole Soyinka can no doubt be classified as a monumental fraud, obtained by string pulling and sentiments.

As you may know, the famous writer and arguably the father of modern literature in the person of Chinua Achebe, of blessed memories, was on the nomination list for the Nobel prize that year and was denied him by politics and overhyping of less deserving contender, Wole Soyinka.

In my opinion, if an individual were to be given such an elevated award he must have been at the apex of the field of study. If this is taken into due consideration by those who would question the veracity of this article, then, can such person tell the public which of Wole Soyinka's phantom books outshines Chinua Achebe's Things fall apart, Anthill of the savannah, Arrow of God, No longer at ease, There was a country in terms of sales and ratings. Most of Chinua Achebe's book have international accolades with best seller and all there is. At best, Wole Soyinka's works can be compared to those of Ngozi Chimamanda Adiche, an eloquent writer, best known for her books: "Purple hibiscus" and "Half of a yellow sun".
James Hadley Chase also wrote quite a few bestsellers but that didn't make him a Nobel prize contender.

There's a reason why people like George Bernard Shaw and Wole Soyinka were given the award for literature. Their works are considered to be either superior or having a lasting artistic value.

Politics › Re: Abia State Secures $1.5B Deal From China Shoe Factory by Guestlander: 3:41am On Apr 17, 2017
drake2000x:
How will you get it when you are an Afonja. The Chinese loan is simply to expand the industry and meet global demand. The labor force will still be locally filled Aba crafters. The goal is to to take design orders from Wal-Mart, Target , Sears, e.t.c., and mass produce whatever they demand. Right now these giant retail products are being made in Mexico, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Malaysia because they have giant factories to meet their demands. That's what Aba is looking forward to. Instead of small individual shops, they can harness them all into giant factories with mechanized equipment to mass produce. The ingenuity and design will still be Aba!
This company is actually already in Ethiopia. They will employ local labor for sure but independent shoe makers in Aba will automatically become their competitors. There are advantages and there are disadvantages but I think this is a good development above all.
