hardbody: How do i even start to calculate the consumption. ok lets see....on a full tank, my montero takes me to benin and would have gone down to near half tank. You work that out yourself.

My huyndai takes me to owerri on full tank and then i refill. I hope this helps
Drive a montero sport as well, on a full tank with highway driving all through, i get about 350miles to a 17gallons tank (563.15km/68.04); IL/8.28km and that is fair enough.

RIP but sadly the quote from the news story is apt
'The avoidable death is coming in the wake of continuous bastardization of the original ideals of the founding fathers of NANS.

Adeniyi Osadipe, a 200 level student of the Federal University of Technology Akure lamented the death of the students and advised fellow students to stay away from politicians as much as possible. He lamented the state of the Nigerian roads whch is the result of the wickedness of the politicains and questioned why any student should put himslef in harm’s way to honour such politicians with underserved awards.'

RIP to the departed again and hope for the recovery of the one in Coma.

omowa1: CONFESSION OF A LADY:

During lunch at work lastweek, I ate 3 plates of beans (which I know I shouldn't). When I got home, my husband seemed excited to see me and exclaimed
delightedly; Darling I have a surprise for dinner tonight.
He then blindfolded me and led me to my chair at the dinner table. I took a seat and just as he was about to remove my blindfold, the telephone rang. He made me
promise not to touch the blindfold until he returned and went to answer the call.
The beans I had consumed were still affecting me and the pressure was becoming
unbearable, so while my husband was out of the room I seized the opportunity, shifted my weight to one leg and let one go. It was not only loud, but it smelled like a
fertilizer truck running over a skunk in front of a garbage dump!
I took my napkin from my lap and fanned the air around me vigorously. Then, shifting to the other leg, I ripped off three more. The stink was worse than cooked cabbage. Keeping my ears carefully tuned to the conversation in the other room, I went on releasing atomic bombs like this for another few minutes.
The pleasure was indescribable! Eventually the telephone farewells signaled the end of my freedom, so I quickly fanned the air a few more times with my napkin, placed it on my lap and folded my hands back on it feeling very relieved and pleased with myself. My face must have been the picture of innocence when my husband returned,
apologising for taking so long.
He asked me if I had peeked through the blindfold, and I assured him I had not. At this point, he removed the blindfold. To my utmost surprise, twelve dinner guests were seated around the table, with hand holding their noses! LOZZZZZZZ!!
Just 2much! grin

BOSON: Fellow Nairalanders,
I am very dismayed to write this note.
In may of this year, I purchased an 04 Toyota runner from the US. As it was being driven from Apapa ports to Port Harcourt where I reside, the engine knocked at Ijebu-ode. I sent money to a Mechanic to buy another engine and fix the car. a week later the car was brought to me in Port harcourt. Last week the car engine knocked again. I was so distressed that I didnt even touch the car up till now. I decided to go for another car and went fishing on nairaland where I met ICME who says he can sell me an 06 avalon for N2.3M. See link for the car https://www.nairaland.com/930576/pictures-06-toyota-avalon-xls/3. He said he was travelling to abuja, but if I commit him, he is going to bring the car to Port Harcourt. I sent him N400,000 same day (Monday of this week). I then told him the issue of my 4 runner that I need the car urgently even with my limited funds. I asked him to register the car before coming on wednesday. To my utmost surprise, he has been giving me stories of how the car was accidented before and he didnt know, he bought the car from a dealer in Nigeria and all that stuff. I said ok bring me my car still but he refused to pick up my calls. All I want now is let him bring the car or better still refund my money. I checked his Nairaland profile before i even started doing business this car with him. He has 66 topics in nearly all nairaland sections doing business with people.

Please if you have done business with him or know him physically, kindly assist me.

Your thoughts on all this is highly appreciated.
It's not a debate if it has happened severally...

Do well to check your facts.. Countless public office holders have resigned their positions at different times in our political history... So it's not a debatable question..

Lol @ Methuselah .. Feels good to be old...
Again, comprehension-ehn! The topic says; 'Togo’s PM Resigns : Can This Miracle Happen In Nigeria?' Strange disease to be old.
He is prolly to young to know that
Then you probably are too old to comprehend what a debate is or what a forum is for.
The question is Why the fhuck should it happen here?!

And beafs explanation is Okay!! The PM resigned his position as Prime minister.. The Deputy speaker resigned his position as Deputy Speaker.. Whats your problem?!

Are you aware of any impediment or reason why he should also resign as an Assembly man?! angry

Again, stop with the comparison.. Nigeria is a Sovereign Country.. In Japan, there is a tradition called Seppuku where a person commits suicide as a form of Capital Punishment or to do pennace for a shameful act... and even for honour.. Why dont you also ask if it can happen in Nigeria!!

Inferiority complex come in different forms, check yourselves!!

Nigeria may not be great, but that dont give you the right to talk shit about her at every given chance.. angry
Comprehension is always a problem for self effacing, and defensive entities. I have only asked if this can happen in Nigeria?

Save me that high horse statement, the fabled 'Giant of Africa' tale is now hogwash.
BTW what should be the basis of comparison if you know any; the question is simple, 'can this happen here?'
@ Beaf, the purported resignation of the Northern state lawmaker is from post as a deputy speaker and not from his position in the house.
Politics › Re: Togo’s PM Resigns : Can This Miracle Happen In Nigeria? by gulfer(op): 9:03am On Jul 13, 2012
Beaf: OP, there is little reason to post out of context.
I am sure 99.99% of Nigerians would prefer not to be ruled by a single man for decades, only for him to die and his son take over as is the case with Togo.

What should have concerned you is the very strange case of the Prime Minister resigning over demonstrations and the President on whose desk the buck stops accepted.

Please, google both Eyadema and Gnasingbe for the full blast of what I have summarised in a few simplistic sentences to hit you square between the eyes.

Pray that we never have such nonsense in Nigeria, Abacha is the closest we came to such despotic rule.
Beaf, answer the question, can a politician resign-either under duress or not?

Politics › Togo’s PM Resigns : Can This Miracle Happen In Nigeria? by gulfer(op): 8:41am On Jul 13, 2012
Togo’s president has accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Gilbert Houngbo, the presidency announced on state television late Wednesday.

No reason was given for Houngbo’s resignation, which came amid a series of protests launched by a coalition of opposition parties and civil society groups, Let’s Save Togo, that have led to dozens of arrests.

“On Wednesday, the prime minister presented his resignation and that of his government. The president of the republic accepted it,” said the statement from the office of President Faure Gnassingbe.

A former United Nations undersecretary general, Houngbo was nominated to the prime minister’s post in September 2008 by Gnassingbe, a member of the family that has ruled the small west African nation for four decades.

Gnassingbe took over the presidency in 2005 following the death of his father, General Gnassingbe Eyadema, who ruled Togo for 38 years with an iron fist.

Last month, several thousand people gathered in the capital Lome over changes to the electoral law opposition members say were forced through by the dominant governing party.

Security forces broke up a demonstration on June 13 with tear gas, and the opposition claimed 119 people were wounded over two days.

Togo’s former colonial power France has condemned the violence and urged measures to ensure transparent and peaceful polls, which are expected to be held in October, although no precise date has yet been given.

Let’s Save Togo has argued more time was needed for reforms to be carried out before the vote.
