Politics › Re: Have You Paid New Electricity Tariff? by gulfer: 6:41am On Jul 13, 2012
For a government that failed to give a sustainable living wage to its people, there is no reason to put in an astronomical increase to the utility bills. The Tax or whatever fixed charge is N500 alone. How does GEJ expect the minimum wage earner to cope under these austere policy he is blindly driving. The resources being wasted on the militants trainings alone is enough to restore electricity first before changing the tariffs. Like an uncle said, 'No matter how you call back a dog destined for the gods, it will find its way out to the road (death)'.

The president says everything possible would be done to apprehend the lawmaker's killers

President Goodluck Jonathan has given a marching order to security agencies in the country to fish out the killers of Senator Gyang Dantong without delay.

Mr. Dantong, the senator who, until his death, represented Plateau North Senatorial district, died in yet unclear circumstances on Sunday.

A version of the story said he died of gunshot wounds he sustained during an attack by Fulani herdsmen while yet another version said he collapsed and died while attending the burial of the victims of an attack on villagers on Saturday which left over 20 dead.

In a statement by his spokesperson, Reuben Abati, the president described the killing as cruel and regrettable.

Mr. Abati said Mr. Jonathan had directed all security agencies to immediately launch a thorough investigation into the incident and bring the senator's killers to justice.

The President also condoled with the government and people of Plateau State as well as members and the leadership of the Senate on the incident.

The statement added, "The Federal Government is working hard to ensure that there is a check on impunity.

"That much was demonstrated with the recent changes made in the top echelon of our security architecture especially with the appointment of the new National Security Adviser.

"We shall continue to re- invigorate our fight against terrorism and impunity and we are already taking concrete steps."

swiftycool: Mine was a peugot 406, very cute and efficient. I got it at next to nothing from my cousin when I first got to Aberdeen but rarely used it due to parking costs where it was most needed, since bus services for me then as a student were very efficient and cheap. I tried selling it on gumtree and ebay after a year to reduce my expenses on road tax, insurance and mot but coulnt get a buyer till all got expired. And since we didn't have a garrage in the house and I couldn't find anyone to dash, I had to give it up to a lowbed guy taking it to a scrap yard for a measely £70.
Next time you have a car to sell place it on NL and you'll get value for money. Anyways, my fisrt car is a SUV and I still use it.

aasog1: Charlie Boy marriage cant be compared with any typical marriage, but well, it worked, and the area-father is still happily hooked (though I think hes doing Derenle) grin
I'd advise Okotie not to take a 3rd wife...Its glaring hes psychotic, a controlling spirit, and the type who cant live with the things they cant change....I long discover sex, beauty, and even money wont make a relationship or marriage work. Dedication is greater than passion. And Passion is always the first casualty after the honeymoon and first baby. Without dedication from both party, its like toiling to the mill.

Atleast, I learn these from Okotie's marriage blunder:

1. Im i leaving the ex-gf/wife because i selfishly think i deserve something sexier while disregarding my ex special qualities
2. im i leaving her because its a decision that would make us both happy in the end or im i been irrational or emotionally unstable....if I do it right, I will never have a reason to divorce the one who finally gets that ring.
3. im i giving her the ring because im love-drunk and might wake up and start running soon....

4. Love isnt enough...theres gotta be matching variables...
5. And my God: the most important tip: Did I pray!

Yeah, it happened again, Was traveling around Osun / Oyo States on Saturday when i needed to make an urgent call for direction and I stopped to buy recharge card along the old road. To start with, the highest top-up available in the village is N200 which sells for N210. I loaded this and made a call of about 30secs and proceeded from there. At my next stop in Ogbomosho, I tried to make further calls for onward direction and I was amazed to discover an empty balance. Don't know why this happened but MTN need to up their game.

nissparts: You don't need a new converter. Gut out the old one before it disintegrates completely. It's blocked and that's why your fuel economy is poor. Then fix the spacers on the oxygen sensor before installing them back into the pot.
@Nissparts, can you share more on this?
