Oh yeah, def. It's set in the Jim Crowe South. I don't think I've watched anything like it. It was intriguing, and a great watch overall.
So what's Fawkes been up to? smiley You're awfully quiet, ya know. Feel free to recommend anything if you like. I have all kinds of time on my hands I don't know what to do with undecided

I saw it circa 2009, was really moved by those young black debaters more so when I realized it was based on a true story. Denzel and Forrest Whitaker were great as well as the young Whitaker boy.
Well I've been busy with work and all but I've being catching up on here but ain't commenting. Seems you had an accident, sorry to hear and get better soon .
So many movies I wanna watch but I've not had the time, but I'd recommend some series.

Downton Abbey
Boardwalk Empire
American Horror Story
House of Cards

You might have seen one or two but i enjoyed watching them.

The Great Debaters (2007)

A drama based on the true story of Melvin B. Tolson, a professor at Wiley College Texas. In 1935, he inspired students to form the school's first debate team, which went on to challenge Harvard in the national championship.- Rotten Tomatoes

Great acting. Denzel Washington. 8/10.

Great movie.

I don't know why Yorubas like to make stuff up that never happened. Yorubas were never even an ethnic group of power. You guys were conquered by the Benin people (Edos) Yet you think you sold Fulani into slavery? It was more the other way around but I don't want to mention it because it's wrong to discuss such things.

Yorubas never sold Fulani in slavery

WRONG!!!
Bini never conquered Oyo empire
You mean Bini controlled Lagos (Eko) at some point in history?
I know you don't agree with some false theories thrown around here, doesn't mean you should throw another false story in reply.
Still don't know where Edos conquered Oyo.
Lol @ Yorubas never being an ethnic power smiley

It's never a dark alley. I don't believe I've ever even been in a dark alley.

A while back, a coworker was leaving her shift when a misplaced rough-looking drunkard in the lot decided to make a beeline for her, yelling incomprehensibly all the while. Thankfully, she was able to reach her car. He banged on her car windows, and kept yelling as she called security. Turned out he was not only drunk, but on some heavyyy stuff w/ a shytload of drugs in his backpack. If she hadn't been able to make it to her vehicle in time, premium pepper-spray would've been the hands down easiest (non-lethal) way to stabilize the situation.

Couldn't agree less, pepper-spray is the answer or better still go for martial art lessons.

Plenty of weirdos out there. I've had that stuff in my bag since I was 15/16 and in Egypt per my folks, aunties, etc.

Wow it has been a permanent fixture in your bags over the years then.

Yh, I know. But I never liked planes - I'm often anxious on them, and these [recent] headlines are acting as fodder. Even that olddd Indiana Jones actor recently had to crash-land a private plane into a field due to a malfunction, resulting in a broken hipbone. Idk, but plane-related accidents/incidents somehow seem more common nowadays.

How sad.

Might be best to stop flying in light off the recent air mishaps. After several years of minimal air accidents, seems it's now occurring too often in spite of the latest technology airplanes are equipped with.

Why shouldn't I fear what with pilots falling asleep mid-flight, entire planes 'disappearing' off the grid, and a depressed pilot supposedly committing grand suicide, taking with him a toll of 150+ passengers?

Strange things are happening, Fawkes, lol.

It's a strange world we live in.
But flying remains the safest means. It's so sad he had to take 150 souls with him.
Depression aaargh!!!

Apparently, the copilot locked the captain out of the cockpit, then calmly and deliberately slammed the plane into the French Alps...

I am so done flying.
