Yea i know cox am a mech eng student...So he should accept d marine n change to mech he get to 200l right?
Yes, I also have a degree mechanical but the reality is that in many schools, courses like Marine engineering always have few students who mostly chose the course as second choice and the HODs may not sign and approve Change of Course Forms in 200 level which will reduce the number of students in their departments, and make it look less viable to the school authorities, you realize that out of 50 admitted 30 students have the same ambition. They will give you the option of either continuing or write another Jamb.

You will see HODs telling the students 'my department is not a stepping stone to other departments'
I am speaking from experience

Yea bro i also think petroleum engineering is poo as other engineers (mech, chem, elect etc) have equal oppurtunities in the oil and gas industry as d pet eng guys and those guys can work in just about any establishment ..So what do u think about marine eng will it get him a job in nigeria after graduation ??
Instead of Marine let him do Mechanical, elect/elect or civil engineering. The reality is that mechanical engineers fit in vastly into several fields including Marine and petroleum engineering after short programmes and trainings

Meanwhile a friend of mind just got double admissions to study petroleum engineering and marine engineering in fupre and Rsust respectively he is confused on which one to accept i personally think he should go for marine engineering coz a petroleum engineer can only work in an oil company n i think the oil and gas industry is congested coz these days every graduate wants to work in an oil company and graduating from a petroleum university even with first class does not guarantee him an oil n gas job what do u think??

He'll just tell them the location and take them there and they'll look for a way to sedate the gorilla and take it to the zoo. The mumu wan chop gorilla. Tufiakwa

Even this laudable move by Ambode is still an MOU which we hope will quickly be transformed into a contract between the stakeholders for the benefit of Lagos and Nigeria.

For misinformed people like you, MOU is a first step in achieving a plan, signing a supply contract and project implementation is another phase.

U need to stamp your feet down.... Personally I will advise you to halt the wedding plans for now... The woman in question is domineering... Insulting, I can bet she is ungrateful too and doesn't respect you... Trust me you will eventually be forced to beat her and the society will brand you a woman beater...
.

The signs are all there... There is no respect for you from your woman and her family.... People have been in this kind of situation and are regretting it.

Pls halt the wedding for now.
I faced a similar situation and in her moments of anger she even hit me severally and the day I retaliated she spun it around and made a gentle me to look like a dictator after informing her family. I tried to explain but her mum even called me a liar and that spoilt our relationship to this moment.
It's so bad that her family knows how much she has in her bank account than me, and my family members are not wanted in our house but her own relations come at will even when she seldom help out in the family financial projects including the kids school fees and house rent putting a lot of strain on me and my income.

I won't advice anyone to go ahead and marry a woman who has no respect for him if you know that you can't stand emotional abuse from a wife. It will surely take a toll on you as time goes on.

Crime › Re: Badoo Killings: Fatai Owoseni Meets With Ikorodu Traditional Rulers by Guyman02:
Badoo is a Yoruba cult group. The people should know those who are involved.

pazienza:
They will tell you that they are not scared of Igbo leaving Nigeria, that they don't care. Yet everyday, these people are on Biafrans case on facebook. I'm only tired out arguing with them.

They might not actually be afraid of Igbo leaving Nigeria, especially the Muslims amongst them, as I reason their Christians are aware of the religious imbalance towards Islam that would occur in Nigeria should Igbos who are the major Christian block leave Nigeria.

But their real fear is that, should Igbos leave, Niger deltans would equally leave to found their own countries, going with them their oil industry, revenue, ports and more importantly, leaving Yorubas trapped in a retrogressive country with Arewa, as I doubt Yoruba Muslims in Kwara and Kogi are interested in extracting themselves from the caliphate control, and even if they are, the caliphate won't let them go without a fierce war, and the rest of Yorubas in SW might not been willing to let them go just like that, yet are not inclined to war.

Nigeria offers them(Yorubas) the best chance of sharing same nationality with their Northern Muslim fellow Yorubas without totally enslaving themselves to the caliphate, since the Igbo and Niger delta presence offers balance in the polity and checkmates that.

It doesn't hurt also, to know that in Nigeria, they enjoy port and airway monopoly, as Lagos port and MMIA remain the only REAL and best gateway out and into Nigeria, both by air or sea. With its multiple effect on SW economy.

Bottom line, is that Nigeria, as bad as it seems, when pragmatically examined, is the best option for Yorubas, Atleast for now.
They don't like admitting it, but it's what it is, and they would always fight to protect Nigeria unity to preserve their own interests. You can't blame them for that.
Travel › Re: 4 Smart Things To Do When Stranded by Guyman02:
Precaution for those travelling to the North for Youth Service

Guyman02:
For those of us living in the North, I advice people coming for youth service from the South who are oblivious of the lifestyle and backwardness in the North :
one fact you must know as a Southerner is that you can easily be lynched in the North, for example if somebody in Zamfara owes you N5m and you travel from Lagos to Gusau to get your money which the person is not willing to pay and wants to eliminate you; all he needs to do is to engage you in an argument and shout that you have abused the Prophet and Islam; that could be not only the end of your money but your life as well. A mob of Almajiri will gather and stone you and will not even ask you if it is true or not.

Secondly, avoid any Arabic paper; the reality is that you could be lynched for squeezing a Porn magazine written in Arabic alphabet while nothing may happen to you if you burn a copy of the Koran written in English.
Most illiterates in the North think that Arabic alphabets has to do with the Koran only and its from Allah, they dont know that in the Middle East and Asia its a means of writing used in solving mathematics, physics equations, writing letters, newspapers, Bible etc

Avoid arguments with mallams when in the market or motor park, if the price is not good move to the next shop or bus, if they say get out, just get out to avoid trouble.
If you can, learn the Shahada in Arabic (not English) as it may help you in times of trouble even if you are not a Muslim; just keep repeating it and they will back off and say you have acknowledged their Prophet, stay alive first.

Shahada: la ilaha illa Allah, Muḥammadu rasulu Allah
There is no god but God. Muhammad is the messenger of God

They behave like animals when they are in religious frenzy as they see you Southerners as the reason for their poverty because of the sins (womanizing, alcohol, clubbing, gambling etc) you commit against their Allah, this is what their religious leaders tell them.

They dont face serious prosecution or sanctions for religious crimes as the average Northern politicians feel it will cost them the next election if they are seen to be prosecuting Muslims who defended the 'honour' of the prophet and Islam by killing blasphemers and infidels and will not want to jeopardize his electoral chances because of the noise from you in the South

It seems her father wants the money and thinks an Igbo guy will help her grow it and out of his control

The average Igbo guy who is not on NL just want to hustle and make money and take care of his woman if she will treat him with lots of respect and not too much about tribe.
Thats why Calabar ladies are snatching many Igbo guys cos most of them know how to treat any man well.

The average Igbo girl will make you to become a warrior because thats how they are raised, for instance since FFK married that Igbo girl his natural Yoruba fear of Fulanis dissipated, even Gov Akeredolu will tell you that his wife has been the pillar behind his success.

Follow your heart and pray to God to help you make the right choice irrespective of tribe.

Have you ever thought of asking your father the things he would want your mum to start doing that will make him happy and if he will forgive your mum for any perceived wrong she might have done to him in the past.
Don't take sides with your mum as it will only anger your father.
The source of crisis could be a wrong done by your mum which you may not be aware of and which may have infuriated and humiliated him to the point that he finds succour with other women. For you to put all the blames on your father shows your bias probably because she pays most of your bills as you stated.

Tell your mom to be ready to make some serious sacrifices as may be prescribed by your father for a new beginning, it could be financial issues, emotional, psychological or spiritual or she continues to maintain her stand with no solution.

You said she is a born again Christian but there are several cases whereby some women would obey their pastors and disobey their husbands, would spend more time praying or in church activities than attending to the emotional needs of their husbands and this breeds suspicion even when she is innocent.
You are too young to carry this matter on your head.

Thanks a lot for this, Bros.

Sexual perversion is so high these days I can bet there were rapists and pedophiles in that crowd.

All these kidnap cases, I won't be surprised if there were some innocent people falsely accused.

Beating isn't right, but I can still even overlook that but stripping criminals especially women is a fantasy of many sick perverts out there
and it's wrong.

Arrest a criminal. ..don't strip.

Sometime in the future, this would be outlawed when it goes too far. It might just take time
@bolded is the reality of these days, so many videos online of women being stripped.
Crime › Re: Female Kidnapper Caught & Stripped Unclad At Ajao Estate, Lagos (Photos) by Guyman02:
Enough of this stripping naked, you dehumanize other women and men by exposing the private parts of suspects to children, whom it also destroys their psyche and make them to start imagining how their mothers, fathers and aunties look naked.

It is sexual perversion on the part of so many men that brings about this stripping people naked and parading them around it should stop.
You can even see one of them spreading her legs wide apart so as to see the inside of her pussy and take lurid pictures and videos on their phoneshuh
Police should also start arresting these perverts and not only the suspected criminals and kidnappers angry

This criminal act is so rampant that a judge in Nairobi angrily sentenced 3 men to death for stripping a woman nude accused of improper dressing, perhaps same is needed in Nigeria. See the story here on BBC News.

Education › Re: WAEC Throws Light On Exam Remarking, Withheld And Outstanding Result by Guyman02:
I have seen many students moving from the South to the North to register for WAEC, over here in Nasarawa answers are written on the the black board directly from the test books and many of them will still fail.

So a student who can simply read and write from the South coming here will have a field day copying from his text books unmolested during the exams and WAEC seldom withhold results here because they may never have a second chance to rewrite since the state govts pay the students WAEC fees.

While the female students are writing their exams their husbands are standing and watching them from the windows and as an invigilator you keep your distance to avoid trouble if you see them doing 'expo' I just wonder how the North will ever catch up with the South in terms of education backwardness.

It's so bad that many parents in Abuja now go to Niger or Nasarawa states to register their wards and they come out with 9 credits in one sitting and they boast to their neighbors about how 'brilliant' their kids are.
