The same mouth you use to curse APC and call it a Muslim party is the same mouth you use to begged to be promised your tribe presidency. You think say you wise you be..... grin grin grin

No one will promise you presidency, if you like start the killings again. The FG is ready to match any murderer bullet for bullet.

Anambra is not begging APC for their presidential ticket. Rochas Okorocha took half of APGA against sound advice to merge with CPC in the north, and ACN in the west to form APC. How far with Okorocha? APC couldn't even allow him pick a successor the way Tinubu has successfully done in the west. He is not even in the reckoning to aspire for presidency because he knew rather (too late) that it is an exercise in futility. This is despite the fact that APC is ruling Imo state.

Peter Obi was smart not to make that move. He remain resolute with what remained of APGA and years later here we are. He left our regional party the way he met it without allowing hyenas to swallow up Ojukwu legacy.

What you can not do for Igbos as a result of APC being in charge of Ebonyi and Imo state, then keep it ndi Anambra do not need it. If there were benefits inherent in having APC government in Igboland, use Imo and Ebonyi to show ndi Anambra "pepper".

Enough of that childish blackmail biko!!

On the contrary, Peter Obi sold APGA to Anambra electorates body and soul. He restored a kind of trust in government with APGA and Ndi Anambra still resonate with his good governance.

No matter Willie Obiano shortcomings, ndi Anambra will always feel safe with APGA than PDP or APC at state level.

As big as Anambra South Senatorial District is, with many local governments, the candidates of the 3 major political parties are all from Aguata.

Ndi Anambra what happened?

Are Aguata people the most influential in Anambra South?

I think it was a mere coincidence this time around. Aguata is one of the largest local government in Anambra state and they have paid their dues in Anambra electoral process.

I wanted Soludo to win but the debate changed that. The PDP candidate seemed to be the best among them but unfortunately the decision lies in the hands of Anambra people not me. We have our own Hopeless Uzodinjo to deal with.

Don't worry, ndi Imo will get it right soonest. The problem is that good people left Imo politics in the hands of the likes of Arurume, Hope Uzodimma and Co.

Imo good educated men and women should show up and chase away those retired 419ners from Imo state. That is the only solution. The veritable tool to achieve is via APGA.

It was a temporary cash out. They will still return to Apga. Andy Ubah has oil well and you know say oil money dey sweet. They all knew he stood no chance. In Anambra you don't buy politicians to win election, you talk directly to the people and sell yourself to them.

Ndi Anambra already know who their next governor is since 3 years ago because Soludo stayed in Anambra and made himself visible. That was subtle campaign.

Abuja politicians just come down few months before election thinking they could buy everyone. No way!

Politics / Anambradecides: Voting May Be Extended Till Sunday If Necessary, Says INEC by gwafaeziokwu: 3:34am On Nov 07, 2021
November 06
20:26
2021

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says voting in the Anambra governorship election may continue on Sunday if those currently on the queue are unable to cast their votes today.

Due to the malfunctioning of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in some polling units across the state, the commission had earlier extended the voting time in affected areas till 4pm.

But there are indications that the voting time may have to be further extended as some persons were still voting at past 7pm.

There were also reports that the commission has extended the voting till Sunday.

But speaking with TheCable on Saturday, Rotimi Oyekanmi, chief press secretary to the INEC chairman, said the commission has not officially extended voting till Sunday.

“At this point, election has not been officially extended till tomorrow. However, we are harvesting areas where voting will realistically no longer take place today, including places where substantial disruption occurred, to enable a recommencement of voting at another time, in line with extant laws as well as the commission’s regulations and guidelines,” he said.

“The implication of this is that voting time which was initially extended to 4pm may extend till tomorrow. If there are so many people on the queue in such a way that all of them can no longer vote today, then voting will resume tomorrow.

“If voting is able to end today, for instance at 7pm instead of 4pm, depending on the decision of the presiding officer, so be it. But if they (presiding officers) feel that at some point in time, they can no longer continue, maybe because it has gotten dark, they will stop at that point and then ask the remaining voters to come the following day to cast their ballot. And once the voting ends the following day, we’ll conclude the process.”

These hoodlums are by no means Ipob members. It is obvious that APC plan to stop election in Ihiala local government so they could write results.

An INEC official was caught red handed with election results written in favour of APC even when there was no election in almost all the polling units. Unfortunately for them ndi Anambra mu anya ka azu. He was saved from mob attack by Anambra deputy speaker who brought in the police.

Only empty politicians would shy away from real vote canvassing while hoping for rigging.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the governorship election in Ihiala LGA of Anambra state.

The election was suspended following the outbreak of violence in various polling units in the LGA.

INEC officials reported being attacked by hoodlums in different communities across the LGA.

An INEC official, who preferred to remain anonymous, told TheCable that the hoodlums disrupted the election and claimed they were enforcing the sit-at-home order earlier imposed by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

This is despite the fact that the sit-at-home directive had been suspended by IPOB hours before the election.

Some INEC officials also told TheCable that residents in the area disrupted the election in some polling units because of the late arrival of voting materials.

“We were blocked on our way to the polling units in Okija community. We met some hoodlums who barricaded the roads, saying we can’t go for the election. They also said they were not interested in election as long as there is sit-at-home order,” a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving as an election official said.

Another INEC ad hoc official, who identified herself simply as Comfort, said hoodlums accused staff of the electoral body of planning to rig the election.

“Some youths attacked us seriously. They even accused us of planning to change results. They said we were supposed to travel together with other INEC officials. They said we were planning to change the results and because of that, they started beating some of us. So, we had to turn back,” she told TheCable.

Another INEC ad hoc staff, a corps member who identified himself as Peter, said lateness to the polling units led to attacks in some areas.

“I think our lateness to the Ogbolo wards frustrated the hoodlums to strike violence. In fact, some of us were eventually attacked. We had to find motorcycles to find our way out of the place, and we were told to start going home,” he said.

It is not yet clear when the election will be conducted in the LGA.

Oga he schooled you with hard truths. Your weak defence looks childish at best. Once it comes to Igbo issue every Nigerian suddenly raise the standard and start shifting the goal posts. Even people willing to vote a Buhari with NEPA certificate want to form sophiscation.

What kind of lobbying did Obasanjo do to clinch the 1999 presidency. Alex Ekwueme spear headed the formation of PDP, built up a winning political machinery and gave it up just to assuage the feelings of the Southwest. Mention, just one southwest politician in the PDP as at then that could untie the political shoes of Alex Ekwueme and the strong ties he had build all around the country.

You guys problem is simply a rabid Igbophobia, but it will be cured come 2023.

Politics / Anambradecides2021: INEC Extends Voting Time by gwafaeziokwu: 4:04pm On Nov 06, 2021
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the period for opening and closing of Poll from 8.30am to 4.00pm.

But the Commission has also made it clear that this revised closing time applies to areas where Polling Units opened after the commencement period of 8.30am, adding that in line with existing regulations and guidelines of the Commission, any intending voter who is on the queue by 4.00 pm shall be allowed to vote.

All Polling Unit staff must comply with this directive.

This cheering news was contained in a press statement signed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Anambra State, Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji and made available to journalists covering the election to calm frayed nerves over the malfunctioning of the Biomodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) in some Polling Units across the state.

The statement read in parts:

“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the period for opening and closing of Poll from 8.30am to 4.00pm. This revised closing time applies to areas where Polling Units opened after the commencement period of 8.30am. In line with existing regulations and guidelines of the Commission, any intending voter who is on the queue by 4.00 pm shall be allowed to vote. All Polling Unit staff must comply with this directive.

The extension of time arose out of several field reports that voters have had problems with accreditation. The Commission is currently investigating the reason the accreditation devices, Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), have worked perfectly in some Polling Units, but not in others. In some of the cases, it would seem that this resulted from software glitches. Our technicians have already built an update to the devise software to prevent further challenges. The update is currently being installed in the concerned BVAS and we request voters, candidates and agents to be patient and allow our technical staff to solve the problem.

The Commission wishes to reiterate that in cases of sustained malfunction of the BVAS, the Presiding Officer must inform the voters and polling agents that accreditation and voting for the affected Polling Unit shall continue tomorrow or at another time determined by the Commission. With this extension of time and the recommencement of accreditation where the BVAS consistently malfunctions, the Commission assures that no voter will be disenfranchised.

Our deployment has also been adversely affected by transportation challenges in some locations. It must be noted that on account of security concerns, some of the transporters that were mobilized and collected 50% of their sign on fee backed out at the last moment, leaving some of our ad-hoc staff stranded. Also, some of the trained ad-hoc staff backed out at the last moment. The Commission is on top of these challenges and extant regulations and guidelines will be applied on a case by case bases. Consequently, we are harvesting areas where voting will realistically no longer take place today, including places where substantial disruption has occurred, to enable a possible recommencement of voting at another time, in line with extant laws and the regulations and guidelines of the Commission.

We appeal to all voters, candidates, stakeholders communities and political parties to remain calm and law abiding. We assure you that the Commission is determined to a make all votes count”.

Politics / Anambra Election: BVA Technology Is A Complete Failure – Soludo by gwafaeziokwu: 3:25pm On Nov 06, 2021
Chukwuma Soludo, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), says the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) deployed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the Anambra election is a “complete failure”.

Speaking with journalists after the device failed to accredit a number of voters at his ward in Aguata LGA on Saturday, Soludo lamented that many people have not voted despite arriving at the polling unit early.

The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said the device being deployed in Anambra for the governorship election is the reason why many people have not voted.

“Fundamentally is that technology collapsed; BVAS technology of a thing is a complete failure,” he said.

“If it is going to be rectified it is going to be in minutes or hours to come. Almost 12:30pm in the day, voting is yet to start in most of the polling units in the state.

“For the few places that they are doing (voting), technology that ought to take seconds to accredit someone takes 20 minutes, 30 minutes, and so on. With the crowd you can find hundreds of people… if the machine starts working you are not going to finish this crowd within the hour.

“It raises fundamental questions about the technology and this is all over the state. Because I have been getting calls from virtually all LGAs in the state about the glitches. Places where you have 900 people, you have five or six that have voted so far.

“The fundamental problem is the technology that is being tried here in Anambra. It just hasn’t worked up to this minute. Maybe, we will still keep being optimistic. The technician who is supposed to be the expert has been fiddling with it (BVAS).”
