Its only an onye Anambra that would understand why this is a big deal. For a state that loved education so much, producing some of Nigeria best academic exports in the past, our educational structures and system sank so low at a point that our children and wards lost Interest altogether. There was a time that students in Anambra stayed at home for one year because of strike.

Peter Obi saw the decay in the system and decided to clear the putrid table by handing over the schools to the mission. The beautiful outcome of that administrative master stroke is what we are celebrating today. The church both Anglican and Catholic mission has restored our pride of place in education in Nigeria. 20 years from now, the whole nations will understand the education revolution that is happening in Anambra state.

What Azikwe actually ended up doing with his 'sell out', to the Imperialist British, was selling the Igbo race to perpetual slavery, first to the Imperialist British and later, to the Nigerian state.
His deliberate greed and avarice, in collaborating with the British, to scuttle the genuine demands of both Western and Northern Nigeria, for a secession clause to be inserted into the 1955 constitution, is what is responsible for the endless travails of the Igbo race in the Nigerian Federation.

Were your fathers to have been contented with Igboland's God given natural resources, back then, in the 50's, 3 million innocent Igbo souls would not have perished during the Biafran civil war and all these perennial cries by Igbos, of being in perpetual slavery in their country, would not have happened either.

You also have a sitting President making reference to the whole Igbo race as being inconsequential in the Nigeria state and drumming it to your ears that he was part of the tormentors of your fathers in the 60's and threatened to give worst treatment than was given in the 60's, if you guys did not behave as expected as 'perpetual $lav€s' of the Nigerian state.

I am sure your fathers that outsmarted leaders of both Western and Northern Nigeria, by 'selling out' to imperialist British, in 1954, are regretting their actions of selling the Igbo race to perpetual slavery, in their graves.

More gibberish from a low level zombie. You just proved that your fathers were useless, the reason why the voice of one man drown all their collective noisy murmuring.

Igbos continue to outsmart you all till today. We got ya all independence from the British and today the you guys somehow cast expectation towards the east to lead your liberation from the new colonialists in town. You shall all wait for a long time. Igbos will fight for Igbos alone, carry your load oga.

You are not ashamed to admit that you and your entire tribe can not change anything in Nigeria. That because of Zik, you have handed over your destinies to almajiris foment futajalon. The history of the world is replete with the stories of great men and women who changed the trajectory of life event. Siddon look is not a virtue, it is mere cowardice.

Your mannequin president, threatened the entire ethnicities in Nigeria who are not Fulanis. He is forcing down Ruga down your throats by force. But the only thing you picked up from his speech is the his snide remarks on Igbos. Guy is your life so worthless that it is no longer news for someone to announced national television that your ancestral land is a passage way for his terrorist brothers. That they have his support to visit mayhem, rape and destruction upon you. Is this still part of Azikiwe fault?

Was Azikiwe the person that led the Yoruba elders and Kings to run to the colonialists and begged to be colonised when they got tired of killing each other? While Azikiwe tribemen held off the brits for 13 years fighting to be left alone, you guys voluntarily gave up your freedom. What, clause then are you talking about.

It only tells a story that you guys have yourselves to blame and no other

The usual boring rhetoric. Igbos did not start migrating to other parts of Nigeria from 1999 when PDP took over. If anything, the PDP era saw massive u turn towards investing in igbo land.

Secondly, we are a business oriented ethnicity. Up coming business men with little cash who wants to grow, look for virgin markets where the services he renders are not common, so as to have an advantage. That is why you see Igbo of business men in remote villages of the north. They are simply looking for virgin markets with less competitors. Business 101

Igbo political leaders would not be the one to push for referendum. They have learnt to behave like ostrich just like the rest of dumb people occupying the geographical space called Nigeria.

Nigerians will all run together to the national assembly in unison to demand referendum when the time comes. Fulanis herdsmen are ensuring that everyone sits up for the impending catastrophe.

Why should you even invest in his domain in the first place?

I believe the South East leadership has failed woefully

All this one they are talking to other regions are a waste of time

They should just creat enabling environment
That will enable the igbos to repatriate the wealth they have in the other regions of Nigeria
Back home

How many other regions are investing in the East
The way Igbos invest in other places?
Is it not foolishness

The leadership needs to wise up
And do the right thing

It is this there attitude
That made Nnamdi Kanu to gain strong foothold in the East
To the extent
Many youths are giving there life for Nnamdi Kanus course

It's a failed leadership
And foolishness also on the side of the people
To invest in other places
Apart from home

Igbos be sensible
Don't be foolish
Don't be deceived by anybody at all

Pictures of Onitsha, Awka, Enugu, Owerri and Aba has been displayed thousands of times on this forum. Igbo cities built up 100% by indigenous population.

The kind of houses Igbos build in their remote villages will put to shame some houses in Lekki and maitama.

Anambra industrialisation is wholly indigenous and latest statistics show that it is the state with the highest employment rate in Nigeria. This is despite being the 8th most populated state in Nigeria. So investing home is never our problem.

The issue is that FG by default has decided to abandon infrastructure support for the east there by taking large chunk of our collective wealth as a nation to other areas outside south East. They want to keep us away from the bazaar but we no gree. Since, you don't want the money to flow in East we must follow it where ever it is.

We do not carry money from the east to invest in any place, instead we leave the east to tap the resources of a place, make the money there and reinvest in the same place for the sake of posterity. We hate poverty dear. You guys cannot force us to have your kind of mentality. We like to live in beautiful houses abeg. This life na once. We own properties even in Afghanistan if you check well. My opposition to secession-Zik
Sunday, June 25, 2017 8:28 pm

By Nnamdi Azikiwe

When the 1954 constitution conference started, my good friend, Chief Obafemi Awolowo tabled a motion to the effect that in the new constitution, provision should be made that any state which feels like seceding should do so. I was opposed to it and said ‘no’ and said that once we have a federation, we are indivisible and perpetual.

That was when we began to use that expression – ‘The Indivisibility and perpetuity of the federation’ – and that to secede would amount to treason. And so, a debate ensued.

The Secretary of State then was Oliver Littleton, later Lord Chandos and he was very much interested and that was his first time in saying that the people of African descent were people actually debating at a high level.

So a full day was given to Chief Awolowo to make his points. He spoke brilliantly as a lawyer. He made his points why secession should be incorporated in the constitution. He cited the case of the Soviet Union which is a federation, and that secession is written there so that any state in the Soviet Union can secede at will. He also cited the case of Western Australia and eventually he finished his case and was applauded.

Lord Chandos said that on the face of the arguments before him it would be suicidal to incorporate secession in our constitution and that is why we have section 86 in our constitution that if any region or state should secede, then it will be an act of treason

We adjourned. The next day, I had to reply. I availed myself of the opportunity to, well, demolish the arguments of my friend and I cited the case of United States which based its constitution on that of the Swiss Confederation. That is Switzerland. I pointed out a case, I think, that of Texas versus White, where Mr. Salmon Chase, the Chief Justice laid down the principle – he was really an arbiter – that the union was intended to be perpetual and indivisible and that any attempt to divide the union by secession was treasonable.

The North (NPC) supported Action Group. The question was then: Should we have secession? The Colonial Office came to our rescue. You know, the usual principle of Britain – ‘divide and rule’ (laughs) but this time, it was in our favour. So, the colonial office backed us.

Lord Chandos said that on the face of the arguments before him it would be suicidal to incorporate secession in our constitution and that is why we have section 86 in our constitution that if any region or state should secede, then it will be an act of treason and that was what led to this war, because Col. Ojukwu seceded and so violated the constitution.

— Excerpt: Nnamdi Azikiwe’s interview with New Nigeria in 1975.

Your fathers forced 'one Nigeria', down our fathers' throat in concert with the British, in 1954 and the consequences of your fathers' greed and st€wp!d!ty is what the whole country is going through as a Nation, today.

Your fathers, in concert with the British made it a treasonable offense, punishable by death, for any one, who makes an attempt to break away, any component part of the country, from the Nigerian Federation.

The main reason we are all hooked today, as a Nation.

You just confirmed that your father's were just mere spectators when it mattered most in the history of Nigeria. If your father's were not slow, Nnamdi Azikiwe would have been stopped in his tracks.

Opportunity was presented to your fathers between1966-1967 to chart a new destiny for their generation. Brits and Fulanis wouldn't have fought wars on two fronts. Guess what they did? They ran back to Nnamdi Azikiwe position and chanted one Nigeria on top of their voice. Igbos through Ojukwu presented an opportunity once more and the ever scared westerners ran back to Brits and Fulanis tail between their legs without a fight.

Now 50 years after, with 3 years as military head of state, 8 years as civilian president and 6 years as civilian vice president, the cries continue. "Why didn't the igbo man Azikiwe, save us"?

Public Utilities Commissioner, Engr. Ezenwanne Carries Out final inspection of 2×60MVA Injection Substation in Awka

Anambra state commissioner for Public Utilities and Water Resources, Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne alongside officials of Niger Delta Electricity Distribution Company and NIPP earlier today carried out final inspection of an expandable 2×60 MVA built in Awka and ready for commissioning later this month of June.

The power injection substation project which was built by NDEDC and NIPP when commissioned according to the Commissioner will help increase hours of availability of power in Awka and environs. It will boost businesses and power industries.

Moreover, Engr. Ezenwanne informed that the 2×60MVA is different from the ongoing construction of six (6) injection substations in the state which is a partnership between Anambra state government and NIPP.

The Commissioner thanked Governor Willie Obiano for his continuous investments in the power sector which he noted is key to unlocking industrial revolution in the state and Southeast as a whole.

grin

See me already salivating about the prospect of more 6 injection substations to be built in Anambra state. This is Obiano matching his Akuruo uno drive with action.

You can't ask Igbo industrialists to bring home their investments without providing the right infrastructure. This is good.

Please, I hope two of those new injection substations are sited at Nnewi. Nnewi needs all the power it could get.

My question is why Niger Delta Electricity Distribution Company and NIPP. What happened to EEDC?

A very intelligent response. Very well said. More could be achieved in Anambra state, but considering paucity of funds with several capital infrastructural development on going, leaving out some areas is inevitable.

Kudos to the Anambra state government under Obiano. He is positioning the state well economically and in the future we will all enjoy it.

That said, I believe he could still do an ameliorative intervention on the said access roads to ease the pains of commuters if he wants. Somebody close to him should bring it to his notice. You never can tell what will happen.

A DOTish individual is requesting of me to show proof which is too massive beyond the dot imagination.
The Brass NLNG, NLNG 1-6 which service the neighbouring west African countries and recently NLNG 7 which will be piped all the way to Morocco are too massive enough to dwarf whatever gas projects in the SE combined.

Premium tears. Lovely sight grin

You are not doing well at all on this thread. Tell your supervisor at the Bmc control room to assign a more senior Zombie. As this topic is clearly beyond your pittance pay grade.

Meanwhile, no single pipeline will leave the east to the north. Goodluck ripping off Niger delta to power the north for future industrialisation. That one na una business.

Ohaji gas plant will power 2.4 million homes for a start. Steady power!!

Oboy! Igbo industrialists who have been manufacturing in China and Vietnam for years will be smacking their lips in anticipation.

Do you even understand the concept of oil blocks?? How do you think oil blocks are created?? If you understand this and then understand the difference between oil and gas and their relationship with respect to the creation of oil blocks then you can talk. And by the way the oil multinationals in this country are mostly concerned about oil, natural gas is largely used for power generation, the likes of Agip, Chevron, Exxon etc are interested in oil, they're not trying to generate electricity for Nigeria.. they only want oil, federal Government is not allocating blocks with large gas deposit even if they do, these multinationals will still bid for oil-rich blocks.. they're after something they can export real quick but the narrative is changing. I hate when ppl talk so boadly about things they know nothing about

The guy you quoted is a spam bot. Thank God they kept their oil while allowing Ndiigbo to build up her human resources first.

Now we know exactly what to do with our gas grin

We have trained enough manpower to be able to benefit largely form our God given natural endowment. 50 years of tilling, now is champagne time.

God please bless Igboland with visionary leadership. Banish all the efulefus to oblivion so that the sun might rise again.

Having some skirmishes of gas projects do not amount to being the largest gas reservoir. Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta have tons of far bigger gas projects than you can ever find in the SE.

Show us proof if you are serious Fulani man. Let me see any pipeline going to the scorched desert from our gas field. After that Gowon shenanigans during state creation, you guys thought it was all over. grin

No one knows tomorrow.

Igboland is too blessed.
