Just have like 1.5 to 2m. You should have about 1k euro in cash or 2k USD or else they will send you back from the airport. That 200 dollar hotel is not too expensive, there are more expensive ones or you can stay in a homestead or what you call shortlet. I paid 800 rupees per day for mine in greater mahé.
I used buses instead of cars and it was 7 rupees to any drop.

9. Abacha wanting to spite Mandela and knowing the AFCON (holding in South Africa) cannot be the same without the defending champions and the widely acclaimed Super Eagles, chose to pull the team out of the competition.

10. The whole Nigerian nation was disappointed. Football was the only thing bringing the nation together and Nigerians were looking forward to a superb display in South Africa.

11. Nigerian team was loaded to the hilt! Every position had 2 or more options & Nigerian players were playing for some of the best teams in Europe

I wanted to start up a POS business with my savings of N65k, but the POS man that i consulted to assist me said i would need at least N150k to start up a POS business.

I've really been hustling everyday, doing hard works (especially on bulding sites), taking pain killer drugs on daily basis..

I don't think it will be easy for me to raised my savings up to that amount 'N150k' with the type of work that i do..

I wanted to travel to the city with my ND (National Diploma) result, so i can use it to look for work, I posted it here on nairaland, but 80% of the advice i got from this forum said it will be hard to see a paying job with ND result, while some said it is not even possible. So i couldn't travel again..

Now that my savings isn't enough to start up a POS business, i'm thinking of starting up a standard akara and akamu business and probably extend the business along the run..

As someone known by his people to have went to school, is the business worth the shame?

There is no shame in any business as long as it meets your immediate needs and prevent you from begging.

As a fresher, just apply but if it's experience hire, then your previous job experience counts. High ticket marketers ( institutional banking, corporate banking etc) from commercial banks do get jobs in investment banks. People who work in specialised departments too get those jobs

As someone with a similar experience (Bsc & MSc Engineering) as you and having spent 14 years in the Bank and considering the happenings in Nigeria. I'll advise you thus: 1. Save up and leave the country and further your biochemistry profession 2. If you find the financial industry good enough; I'll still advise 1 above, but study something that will build your skill up using tech e.g. data science, distributed ledgers, there are a while lot of them; I'll personally not advise ACCA/ICAN except you have the deep interest in accounting/auditing, this is also based on experience, I have people in Nigeria with these degrees still stuck with no jobs or still in the bank and can't get jobs in these sectors because of no experience, if you're looking at moving out of the country then it's fine you get the certifications if they interest you.

All in all, the faster you leave the industry the better for you

A good advice. People always think getting MBA or Acca or ICAN gives promotion. When it's actually your job output, the perception of your supervisor and general office politics that determines promotion. Getting other life skills is far better than becoming a chartered this or that. Otherwise just get higher degree in your field or any other field that interest you. The only chartered paper required is cibn and that's because they were able to persuade cbn to make it very necessary for bankers especially when you are getting higher.

Just perform well in whatever department you find yourself, shun office politics and be amiable with everyone. No further degrees will give you promotion or reduce the chances of getting promoted. Banking is about the results you produce and not paper qualifications. Then you must write CIBN exam. If you getting any further degree or professional qualifications, please do so for personal development and probably to go out of banking but to grow in the banking industry, you need to produce results and get certified as a banker.
