1) What evidences do you have to show a VO that your sponsor will not defect in sponsoring your education? Legal, picture, etc evidences. 2) It should not as long as you explain that gap in your SOP. 3) Either choice is up to you. I would suggest you need not do medicals until you are asked to. #MoneyandUncertaintyWise 4) This is also up to you. Not too sure which route is faster now but neither would affect a VO's decision on your application. I hope this helps. Omodollyp: |

Bros, please where is your Faith, Hard-work and Determination? You need to do your best possible in presenting a solid application and not worry about the negative outcome. Besides there is a guy that got 'visa' with his PGC/PGD at University of Fraser Valley (which is similar to your case) few months ago, so no worries. Give it your best shot! peronpj: 2 Likes |

Currently 16 weeks as per the recent processing time found here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp We are not sure if that is for online or paper application however. ezenwa28: |

I have not seen someone given Visa (Student) without medicals. If it is Open Work Permit, then it is possible to get Visa without medicals. davecool: |

They should qualify since they are paid job. Those titles are somewhat not specific. So i would suggest you put the job title of those training instead of 'Graduate Trainee'. For ex, 'Accountant' if it was Graduate Trainee in Accounting. GrandCommander: 1 Like |

They basically mean work not paid for, like volunteer work and 'some' kind of training you did to get licensed/qualified for a profession. It typically relates to those applying under Federal Skilled Trades Program. GrandCommander: |

It is possible to get a PGD admission but Visa from Nigeria is an issue for PDG currently. Also, i guess age factor may be considered in issuing you a Study Visa. So my candid advice would be that you look for a PNP to help boost your chances for PR. Ladon7: |

Since it is stated in the remarks, i'm not sure it would be considered an equivalent Canadian degree. You could email WES to inquire if they allow such after evaluation. mrflo231: |

Officially, GCMS notes are requested from https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/requesterInformation. The challenge is you need someone's address in Canada to apply and it is CAD $5. Made123: 1 Like 1 Share |

Hehehe....the fear of Trump is beginning of 'Porting'. Actually, my friends there in US are also considering Canada because to get permanent stay in US is harder than Canada (after school). sholay2011: 1 Like |

You can apply for Canadian study permit anytime during your program in the US (as US is the 'Aje kpako' brother of Canada from the same parent... ). abmendozer: |

Bro, with your years of work experience in that field, i think the VO was probably thinking how would one leave such a position/job for PGC. Personally, Canada Express Entry would be a route for you with little or no stress. Eraytee: |

Yes it is normal. When one starts any application online, one is given 60 days to complete and submit such application. Same with study permit, work permit etc. GrandCommander: 1 Like |

I'm just gonna talk about UNBC cos that is where i graduated and from your write up, i guess you wanna specialize in Finance (same specialty too). Your chances are high if you could convince a Prof to supervise you. In this case, the only Finance Supervisor i know is Reza Chowdhury. You can find his email on the school's website and email him about your RESEARCH INTEREST. Convincely make him know how ready and determined you are to work with him. Above all, if you have a strong CGPA in your last 2 years during your undergraduate, you will scale through the first stage of the admission process. Then, your application will go through a committee that includes all potential supervisor. This is where each supervisor chooses the student they want and recommend them to school. I was actually pointing out part time hours that qualify for full time and not about before or after qualification work experience. IRCC rejected a friend's PR application because they counted his work experience from after he graduated here in Canada. He thought since he started the job while as a student, that should count as work experience but they said no, the work experience should start counting AFTER school. So i would also say that post qualification (whether part time or full time) is what IRCC recognizes. Nickoko: |

I still doubt if our part time job in Nigeria is really part time and not full time sef. This is because i believe we work up to or more than 30 hours per week AS part time in Nigeria which is equivalent to full time in Canada. In essence, if one's part time job is up to or more than 30 hours weekly, then it is full time equivalent. dupyshoo: |

Your ages would give the same point (as at now) so i would suggest the person with a higher number of work experience could apply. Also, since you are in the accounting field, i think you should have an upper edge. Your IELTS results too must be strong enough to boost your points. kodified: 1 Like |

Yes sir, a lawyer can do it. It was a lawyer somewhere in Yaba, Lagos that did all the notarization including Intl passport for us. Unfortunately, i only know few Lawyers in some cities but i'm not sure where you are, so i can't suggest any. But i believe any registered notary public around you can do it. platypelloid: |

An updated employment letter could actually be re-issued but not sure of his company's situation. So he should just use his old employment letter if he is still in the current job position. If it is a recommendation letter, he should get a new one. michV: |

Haba nah! You guys should just make this matter lay low. Ok, i am heading the accounting department here and i applied for the job (as part time) with my BSc Accounting degree obtained from Great Ife (Lol). That was while i was still a student here but after defending my thesis, my boss immediately tied me down with a full time position and benefits. This is not the case for every international student here so it is a matter of God's grace and favour. Self-determination and hard-work is no joke too. I know the jobs i did in the past and i know how i have carried my 'always updating' (Lol) resume around downtown to submit to companies, knowing the fact that some of the Admin Assistants (Secretary) would throw my resume in the trash bin immediately i turned back (i later got a job in one of those accounting firms and they didn't even remember me). So all fingers are not equal. "No tyranny of circumstances can permanently imprison a determined will". So just don't give up is the key. shinarambo1: 3 Likes |

If i were a VO, i would ask my self 'Does this guy still work with the company since the last letter? What would cost him to get another updated letter? Or why is he this desperate to re-apply without a new employment letter?' You could use the same letter but i'm not sure it's gonna cost much (money and stress) to get another one. Remember, you are giving this re-application your best shot (no more flimsy reason for denial from them). So why not play safer! Mikymiko: |

I don't think they have that luxury time to do so, considering the 16 weeks or so processing time. The documents submitted by the applicant are enough for them to make a decision. toluene1234: |

Simply ask your sister to confirm the statement since she is the owner and you guys believe it is genuine. A confirmation from the bank account manager would suffice for this. Rproxy88: |

1. I have 'personally' not seen anywhere that a Canadian Visa holder needs to enter Canada within a specified period of time after getting the Visa. Maybe someone else has. 2. My simple advice is come to Canada to renew your passport and Visa (that is if you will be in Canada at least 6 months before your passport and Visa expires, just to be on a safe side). The stress of re-applying for the Visa (TRV) in Nigeria can't be compared to the stress of renewing your passport in Ottawa and the ease of extending your Visa in Canada. Ymc007: 3 Likes |
