I'm sorry for this late reply. The amount needed is basically to cover for one year living expenses. Sincerely, they don't really emphasis on it because your spouse is coming to work. VEIL1234: |

I'm not sure how 'possible' you attached and sent the cover sheet with the official transcript. I also don't know if they accept transcript sent directly from a school. That is probably why they ask for notarized photocopies of documents. You should probably phone or email them about the rejection. platypelloid: |

I don't know if you have created an account on www.physiciansapply.ca or not (this is the first step). You need to if you have not. You actually pay a fee to create the account (weird i guess...lol). Then, you create SVR (Source Verification Request) from your new account which is where you indicate the documents you have and want to send to them, MCC. They accept PHOTOCOPIES of your documents which must be NOTARIZED. These notarized documents (which typically include data page of your international passport, transcript, certificate/medical degree etc) have to be posted (mailed) to MCC with COVER SHEETS that you will print out from the SVR you created initially. You pay for SVR too (document fee). After all those steps, they typically do the rest by sending your credentials to ECFMG (whose functions are just like WES). See full info on getting ECA report for IMGs below: http://mcc.ca/repository/educational-credential-assessment/ That is basically why they rejected your document. platypelloid: |

1. They know you are a student and your '20 hours' weekly can not take care of you and your family so they don't expect you to have that much in your Canadian bank account (except you got some money transferred from your Nigerian account to your new Canadian account). The bolded could work (her bank statement will be required). If you got some money in your Nigerian account, you could include the statement too. 2. I'm not sure she needs to prove home ties because you are the foreign tie (lolz). She is coming to work full time so you can go to school full time (that is the logic behind the SOWP anyway). If you wanna apply for Visitor's Visa for your wife, then home tie (in fact, stronger home tie) is required. The truth is they 'hardly' issue Visitor's Visa to a spouse now so SOWP is the right way. 3. You can apply to extend his Visitor's Visa (that is if he is not given the same expiry date as your study permit). Or you could apply for study permit for your son when he gets here (if high school, the study permit is renewable yearly) as far as he is underage. Toluwaase: |

Yes you should be able to. But ensure you go along with the two admission letters (1 year and 2 years) and 'probably' an email correspondence with your school to that effect (change of program/new admission). This is to play safe at POE with the immigration officer that would give you your Study Permit. Newheights: 1 Like |

So when i got to my POE (Vancouver), the immigration officer mistakenly put University of New Brunswick on my Study Permit instead of University of Northern British Columbia. I pointed his attention to the error and he non-chalantly said "The school on it doesn't matter". With that experience of mine, i can say 'One can (may) change school at POE.' cc @Lawmerchant thesoj: 3 Likes |

Rules are laid out for guidance not for hindrance-Gymme. Thanks @Lawmerchant for the screenshot but if we critically analyze the instruction, we would realize that 'YOU MUST REMAIN ENROLLED' does not mean you can't go on Leave of Absence (LOA). It is just similar to an employee going on Study Leave or Vacation or any other Special Leave (does that mean such an employee is no more part of the company/organisation?). REASONABLE AND TIMELY PROGRESS TOWARDS COMPLETING THE PROGRAM: For you to be approved for LOA, you must state the reason (s) why you wanna go out of school and FOR HOW LONG. Getting money to pay for tuition is a common, normal and reasonable progress to complete the program. 'Their people' go off school to work for a while 'cos of money so why would they not allow international students that even pay more money as tuition? In addition, a fellow Nigerian classmate got a job in a different city, Calgary (a paid internship that was not part of our Masters program and he already paid his tuition a year ahead), he simply took LOA and went for a year for the job, came back for 2 semesters to complete his Thesis and went back to continue is internship-turn-full-time job. 4 Likes |

In spite of what others have said, i am gonna talk from experience here. She can travel down here and inform CIC (not at POE though) of change of DLI but after getting to her final destination OR Go to her proposed school and DEFER her admission (that is if she resumes before the school's deadline to 'withdraw') OR Take a leave of absence (but 'some' schools require schooling for at least 2 semesters before granting this). After choosing any of the options, she can renew her Study Permit WHILE AS AN ACTIVE STUDENT. Meaning she must be in school during her second year in Canada for her to be able to renew the permit. See answer as straight as possible! Nice Arcayo and hbd in arrears plus Congrats too! Lol In addition, applying for PR through paper route (after getting ITA), is longer (currently, i think it's 15 months) but Express Entry is standard 6 months. Arcayo: 1 Like |

Right on, @Lawmerchant! I've been wanting to say something like this too. I think the title of the forum is general "Travelling to Canada". If Justwise does not agree with your post, then he could 'probably' re-name the forum to suit ONLY Students Travelling to Canada and not just Travelling to Canada (which may connote students, workers etc). Just the way a forum titled "Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here" is more specific. #My2Kobo lawmerchant: 2 Likes |

CVC is the 3 digits at the back of your payment card. I'm not sure why they require that much for GCMS. Well, it is just $5 from the official website i know: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en mryoung16: 3 Likes 1 Share |

This is Skill Level C-7511. http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/ProfileQuickSearch.aspx?val=7&val1=7511&val65=* You may need to go through a slightly different route (although Provincial Nominee is an option too, which i would personally advise you go through). This involves getting certification from a province. So you would need to meet the requirements to get certified as a truck driver (which might include writing an exam, especially getting a higher driver licence, maybe Class 3 atleast). omozu1: |

Oh that means you SCORED your credentials not evaluated. So you would have to send your transcripts to WES for evaluation (the result of which you will use in the EE profile). You can start your registration anytime during the year if you have your complete documents (IELTS result and Evaluated transcript basically, and a PNP Certificate, if you get nominated after creating your EE profile). EE profile is valid for one year (during which you may be issued ITA if you meet the cut off point). The cut-off point is released every 2 weeks. OFFICIALAEL: |

You said you have evaluated your credentials but i'm not sure how you did that and why you wanna send your transcript to WES after doing that. Unfortunately, you may not be able to create a profile for EE on CIC until you have sat for IELTS and gotten a result. As per PNP, you could check if you qualify or will qualify for the categories in BC. Here is the BC PNP link: https://www.welcomebc.ca/Immigrate-to-B-C/B-C-Provincial-Nominee-Program OFFICIALAEL: 1 Like |

Funny Naija employers! Pls it should be addressed to 'To Whom It May Concern' and not IRCC (not RCIC, as hartson typed). Besides, which address would one use for IRCC? Canada, Nigeria or where? Bro Powermike, pls try to 'convince' whoever is in charge of drafting the letter that this is the standard and no address should be on the letter. powermike9999: |

Sis, yours was a transit. Hers is a break in the trip so she would probably need a visa. Usually, if you don't have a visa for another country (that requires a visa from your country), you can not use that country as a DEPARTURE. If hers is ONE straight ticket to Vancouver, she would select her seats at once. Transit is different please oo. There is no break in your itinerary that's why it's called transit. Mizbaby: |

If you don't have a visa for Germany or Shengen and your agent did that kind of booking for you, i should fight him/her (lol). If otherwise, Condor is a good airline in Europe (from my experience) so no worries. Niceyenuf: |

Don't get it twisted bro. To your first question, look at EE as JAMB/UTME and FSW, CEC etc as Universities (POST-UTME). EE is a platform to apply under one of those PR categories which include FSW. You submit an EE application and when the rounds are done and you meet the cut off point, you will be invited to apply for PR under one of the categories (in this case for you, FSW). 2. Usually, some provinces list the NOC they want on their nominee program website. In BC, for instance, currently, they consider those that graduated with Masters/PHD in some listed sciences/natural sciences in BC though. They also accept those that graduated in all other graduate programs but with a full time job offer in BC. Ennyo: |
