Yes you can send them the newly approved PGWP and through Web form since you applied online for your SOWP or simply email it to Accra. However, to be on a safe side, i would advise you/she also include a copy her job offer letter in NOC O, A, or B category. Also, include recent payslips from the job.

Pls whatever application you and @lovetrumps wanna apply for your spouse and /or child, don't use online method or else Accra will just sit on it for long. Lol. Use paper route because it will be processed in Lagos (atleast based on recent applications).

Honestly, it largely depends on the city you are in Canada. Typically, smaller cities gives you the opportunity to get a job (might not be better but you can get two jobs and more hours). This is because in a bigger city (as a student) jobs are competitive or the available jobs might not pay your bills and tuition.

I'm not sure how free the free accommodation is and how long but what people do here is they share accommodation and utilities.

Generally, you should be able to pay for your second semester with a payment plan with your school.

Development Economics tally with your undergraduate study. There are a couple of peeps in the program here (UNBC) that studied Economics in their undergrad too.

You may consider the school because it is cheaper and it may help reduce the 'size' of the SOA needed for your TRV application/approval.

The estimated time depends on which category of the province's PNP you applied under (paper based or Express entry). If EE, it's usually 6 months or less but if paper-based, it's about 15 months (not sure cos it changes).

Before submitting/completing PR application, status changes...
YES you can apply as married BUT when you include your partner in your application, your score/point will reduce.
But not to worry, since it is PNP and you got 600 more points, your point may not fall below the cut-off point used to get your ITA.

Just what i was explaining to some friends. The new EE changes is not looking favorable to those outside Canada except they go through PNP.

Hopefully, the cut off point comes down soon.

I will encourage you to apply for SOWP now and if it is still in process after your studies, they might ask for your PGWP and letter of employment in NOC skill level O, A or B. So if you are sure of the job prospect in your area, you can proceed with the application.

Or better still you wait until you get your PGWP and a job in any of the skill level before you apply.

As for Visiting visa, i think it requires a strong home tie for your husband. Common example is if he has his personal business in Nigeria or he earns large pay/salary every month. You can check the visiting forum/trend for more info.

I applied for my wife too May 16th (online), biometric next day.

She was also asked to do Medical exam, November 23rd.

Just going through this thread now and I know how frustrating the wait is, and the worst is not knowing for how long.

Here is the timeline for my Wife, maybe it would give some of you some respite.

I submitted an open work permit app for my wife on the 23rd of April (online), Biometric on the 29th.

She was just asked to go do the Medical Exam on the 22nd of November. This is looking more like a 7 months process, a far cry from the 17 weeks shown on the website.

Hopefully this processing time reduces. E no easy.

Not looking for a flight. Just shared my experience.

Withdrawing an application from CIC takes just few clicks/minutes. Leaving your application is not harmful neither will withdrawing it help. If you waited this long, why not just leave it and take your mind off it. As my people would say, oku iya won ni, won maa sin.

Not true. Your point don't drop for age upon ITA. It's even stated categorically in the letter. Just make sure you submit within 60 day and not 90 days(that will commence from next draw) Allm da best.

If you read your invitation letter (IMM5791) fully, you would see that you are required to decline your invitation if and when your status (or that of your wife) changes before submitting your application.

My 'humble' advice is that you find a way to SUBMIT your application before your wife's birthday (since that will reduce your points).

You can include your kids' birth certificate and any other required documents (international passport).

As per POF, i'm not too sure of what amount to save up because i don't know of anybody that included it.

Bank statement is not part of the requirement but including a 6-month or so statement will cause no harm.

It can be included in your LOE. The applicant's qualification is not a determinant. It is the status of the spouse in Canada that is important in SOWP.

No. Marriage duration does not matter.

Basically, the most important document is your spouse permit in Canada (Study permit or Post Graduate Work Permit). As in PGWP, they require your spouse to have a job in NOC Level O, A or B to qualify.

Other required documents are your international passport, photograph and IMM form.

You would need to provide a LOE where you could include your spouse issued permit (Study or Work), your marriage certificate, wedding pictures etc to prove your relationship.

I am a bit scared with the timelines I am seeing oooo. I do not have a timeline yet but intend to submit my SOWP application in the first quarter of 2017. Please can someone also share the documents they submitted so we can learn while gathering docs.

We will share testimonies on this thread by Gods grace. Please lets keep this thread alive.

The problem is with these guys in Nigeria/Ghana as the case may be.

I applied since May 16th and nothing from them but when i emailed them (Accra) additional documents, they replied me the next day that they 'acknowledge receipt of my email'. What an irony after several previous emails no response!

I saw this and i got more vexed with the way they treat Work permit applications. Hopefully, they gather themselves and do the needful before the end of the year. I think they practically know that there is nothing for them to verify in the application because they gave the study permit/PGWP to the spouse of the applicant and as such, they decided to take it lightly.
