That's true, most people in the country only talk about USMLE and PLAB. Yes you can send pm about the exams, etc. But if it is about PR process, you can ask questions here so that others will contribute and benefit.

Uglyduckling:
Hello. Can I send you a pm? I've been trying to get more information for MCCEE with little success as most persons only know about PLAB and USMLE.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Gymme(m): 5:57pm On May 19, 2017
The steps you need to take are:

-Evaluate your MBBS with MCC (physiciansapply.ca) and get your ECA report
-Do other requirements for Express Entry (write IELTS, proof of funds, reference letter, etc)
-Write the first MCC exam (called MCCEE)* or WAIT till you get to Canada.

After all and sundry, you land in Canada. The next step is to write the remaining MCC exams (MCCQE1 and MCCQE2) to be able to practice as a Family Physician/General Physician. Some provinces may give you a JOB OFFER after passing only MCCEE and/or MCCQE1 with your past work experience.

However, if you want to do residency, you need to write MCCEE and NAC, and also apply for the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS). Check and browse through: http://www.carms.ca/en/match-process/your-application/your-carms-contract/r-1-match/

*MCCEE can be written in some countries outside Canada

Since he is a student, his pay stub is not necessary for SOWP.

Ekinado:
For those asking for LOE/ SOP go to page 25, you will get it there.

Gurus in the house I hail!!
please I have a question

My husband just got to Canada and he is doing factory work which falls under NOC (C)skill level and he is a student so he doesn't have much money, my question is
Can I use his Pay stub for my application or I should ignore it?

Approval letter, international passport, and possibly some questions will be asked.

Yes it is possible to apply for SOWP.

Good day house. Got some questions
1. If one has gotten student VISA and then decides to defer to the next semester due to some health challenge, is it possible for that person to invite his spouse via SOWP? Or must you be in session before this can be done?
Pls note that school fees and accommodation has already been paid
your kind response is needed as this is urgent. Thanks

Yes they nominate. They send ITAs just like the Federal ITA atleast twice a month. The only major issh is getting a 'job offer' in British Columbia. They just sent out ITAs too today, April 19.

Bolded is a major requirement in most of the PR programs though. So please let's not be carried away by the low scores for ITA (it is only an invitation). We must meet the requirements under the program you got an ITA for. FSW, CEC etc.

This is not to scare anyone. It is just a fact oo!

Licensing is required for practicing. For ECA, WES will need the same documents as a regular degree holder.

Lufthansa:

Thank u @Gymme. Can u enlighten about the licencing. Is d licencing assessment required at the onset just as for our degree certificates. I guess licencing is for practicing. Thanks
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Gymme(m): 7:05am On Apr 17, 2017
Just the normal way other degrees are evaluated. I only know of WES. They evaluate such degree as Bachelor of Veterinary medicine, 5 years. If you are looking licensing, you would have to go through the board.

Lufthansa:
how does a veterinary doctor goes about assessing his transcript for CIC purpose. Thanks in anticipation of ur responses.

Not necessarily!

What i meant is that: if you wanna choose a not-too-expensive province, stable economy and pay higher for child tax benefit and all, you can choose one of those provinces in the Atlantic region or Western Canada. To get more detail info, you can check the different programs offered by provinces (in terms of child benefits):

Not sure we can choose more than one. Please does thjs mean you have to land or register where you chose?

4MB is the file size limit per file for CIC.

omesanni:

Is there a file size limit that cannot be exceeded when uploading documents? If so, what's the file size limit?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Gymme(m): 5:38pm On Apr 10, 2017
Yes, phone bill is a sufficient proof of residence as far as it shows her full name and address. I would suggest you get at least 2 most recent phone bills of hers.

omesanni:
Hi Guys,

I have a sister who currently resides in canada. One of the documents(aside PR card and birth certificate) to be submitted when ITA is received is a document from my sister to prove that she resides in Canada. Here's an excerpt from the cic site:

- Evidence that the family member currently resides in Canada must be provided (a residential lease, mortgage documents, utility bills, etc.).
The documents should be up to date as of six months prior to submission.

Now, I asked my sister for utility bill and she says she doesn't have one. She says she has a phone bill though.

My question is, is the phone bill a sufficient document to show as proof of residence in Canada? Will CIC accept it?

Yes you still need to evaluate his Bsc from Nigeria since it was not obtained in Canada.

Accompanying spouse does not need to submit reference letters and the job does not necessarily have to be in NOC O, A, or B. If the job for the accompanying spouse was not in Canada, reference letter is not mandatory.

Please don't get your Medical degree assessed by any evaluating body other than Medical Council of Canada. See the link:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

If you want to be the principal applicant, you will need to evaluate your degree through MCC (physiciansapply.ca) and the process/final evaluation usually takes longer than IQAS, WES etc.

Lochinny:
Good evening everyone!! Congratulations to all that received ITA yesterday!! We aim to be like you soon
Please I need an advice. We did an online accessment and with my husband as the principal applicant.
I'm a doctor and I know that even if IQAS assess' me now I'll still be assessed by medical council in Canada. So with my IQAS assessment, hubby would have liked 459points ie with our ielts result but with my own it would be 469. Do u think I should go ahead and get assessed by IQAS and get assessed again by medical council or I should not do it?
Thanks

NOC 1111 is better and more suitable because most of the functions are in line with it. NOC 1311 is majorly a bookkeeper/Accounting technician category and generally, a bookkeeper does not prepare financial statements, review FS, or even deal with proper recording of fixed assets (maybe they do in our country sha, lol). I would suggest you go for NOC 1111 which is higher and better than NOC 1311 and more align with the job descriptions below. Both categories are under the required skill level 0, A or B anyways so you should be fine.

Congrats @40manlappy and others! Moving on to the next step!

Chinnie4Jesus:
Congrats to the new ITA recipients. Pls guys, can you help me fix this job description. Coordinating month end close activities.
Assist in preparing various reports that feed directly into banks' monthly management accounts.
Preparing monthly management accounts.
Preparing financial statements for both internal and external use.
Assisting with the reconciliation of the general ledger and providing schedules and support documents for year end audit.
Preparing the bank's annual revenue and expenditure budgets in line with management's yearly strategies.
Coding of expense tickets, indicating which accounts to debit and credit.
Preparing and maintaining amortization schedules for upfront interest and other related interests.
Booking fixed assets and maintaining fixed asset register.
Carrying out analytical reviews of the financial statements and preparing reports for investors presentations.

Please my people, the owner chose NOC 1111 but I suggested 1311. I thought I should bring it here for other people to analyze. Waiting for responses. Thanks

Yes bro. Any score/EE profile updated when the round of invitations begin 12:09:10 UTC, April 5, 2017 (in this case) is not eligible until the next round of invitations begin. The duration April 5-6, 2017 is when ITAs will be sent out and received by those that meet the cut off point.

40manlappy:

Please can anyone explain the bolded? I am trying to understand the "cutoff" better. Does it mean that any score updated after that time is ineligible? Thanks

Express Entry Improvements starting June 6, 2017

-Additional points for candidates with strong French language skills, with more additional points going to candidates who also have English language skills.

On June 6, 2017, Express Entry candidates with strong French language skills, with or without English language skills, will be awarded additional points by the CRS.

A total of 15 additional points will be awarded for test results of the Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NLC) at level 7 in all four language skills in French (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and an English test result of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 or lower.

A total of 30 additional points will be awarded for test results of the NLC at level 7 in all four skills in French and English test results of CLB 5 or higher.

-Additional points for candidates with siblings in Canada

On June 6, 2017, the Express Entry system will award 15 points to candidates with siblings in Canada.

To get these points, candidates will need to show that the sibling is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who is living in Canada and is 18 years of age or older.

The sibling in Canada must share a mother or father with the principal Express Entry applicant or their spouse or common-law partner. This relationship can be through blood, marriage, common-law partnership or adoption.

Having a sibling in Canada has been shown to improve health and social outcomes by accelerating a newcomer’s integration into their new life in Canada

-Job Bank registration voluntary

On June 6, 2017, Job Bank registration for Express Entry candidates becomes voluntary for all candidates.

Candidates who meet the minimum entry criteria for Express Entry will be automatically placed into the pool and immediately eligible for invitation rounds. If they do not currently have a job in Canada and would like to start their job search, they will be able to register for Job Bank.

Employers will still be able to use all of their existing recruiting methods, including Job Bank, to find Express Entry candidates.

After doing medical for EE application, my spouse was also asked to do medical for SOWP. We eventually decided to do another medical instead of emailing/informing them to use the EE medical. This is probably a similar case with yours.

If you want to help future applicants in similar case/situation, you may decide to request for GCMS note to know exactly why she was denied after your response/email to the medical request and post.

Congrats on your PR approval!

kasco2pro:
Hi all, my wife's SOWP application has been refused due to medicals.
So, Accra office and Lagos didn't bother to read their emails. Only email through CSE was read and replied.

My wife got an email on the 27th from an agent that she received the email and the attached document as requested for medical and that she will send it to the apprioprate department to work on it.
Then, yesterday she got a message on her cic profile that she has been refused. Based on the reason that she didnt comply with their medical request.

1) It is not wise to state that you have been working in a country illegally and even overstayed your visa duration. Do not shoot yourself in the leg.

2) You can claim the 4 years work experience since it is within the past 10 years. The question is 'after 2014, what have you been doing if not working?' Sincerely, the ball is in your court. Self-employed and schooling will gel but only if you've got proof for the school you went and probably what you studied. As per self-employed, can you prove that you own a 'registered/legal business'. Not necessary but sufficient just in case you're asked for evidence.

Zutlin:
Hello house,

Please I have about 4yrs years work experience in a particular NOC. That was from year 2010 to 2014. In 2014, I travelled to Angola and lived for over a year while working as well. Presently, I'm out of job but doing an online B.Sc.

My questions are:
1) Is it wise for me to state that I was working in a country where I didn't have work permit and I even overstayed my visa?
2) what if I just state that I've been self-employed and schooling? Can I claim point using my past four years experience even though its not recent and I'm not employed currently?

Thanks.

If you mean Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Canada, it is NO it does not fall into the Skilled Trade Occupation.

Typically, professions like welding, etc that require some form of training/practical work are those that are classified as Skilled Trade. They usually require certification, rarely degree.
