lawmerchant:

(1) See attached pic.
(2) Visitor visa not study permit allows you to enter Canada anytime while it's still valid.
(3)?Your student medical insurance only covers cost of visit to see a doctor. It does not cover delivery expenses.

TRV is different from Permits (that is, your status in Canny: Visitor, Student, or Worker). TRV is what is stamped on your international passport (and your status is written on it). It is TRV that allows you to travel out of Canny and back until you get to the point of entry (CBSA) where you will be asked to provide your Permit (this time, Student or Worker).

You got no MSP and your medical insurance through your school may not cover for the delivery so it may be safer you defer. Except you have enough money to cover for the medical bills yourself here in Canny.

You may wanna wait to graduate and get your PGWP, then apply for OWP not Visiting visa oo for your husband. I was in your shoes on this.

opeyemi87babe:
Hello,

Good day.

Please am an International student studying Postgraduate diploma in Canada (one year course) am presently in final term(2nd).

I wasn't married while applying for study permit but now am married and I have even changed my name to my husband name in canada.

I want to bring my husband to Canada, can we apply for OWP or visiting visa? If visiting visa, what will be the content of Invitation letter and other supporting documents?

Thanks so much.

I'm not sure if you can apply as an accountant because you have no work experience directly related to the field of accounting. But as a caterer, you may qualify; please check this link:

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/ProfileQuickSearch.aspx?val=6&val1=6311&val65=*

Your husband may qualify too as a principal applicant (NOC 0431 and 4311 as a Police officer) if he has directly related work experiences. Choosing who the principal applicant will be depends on your CRS points (which comprises of a number of factors like who has more work experience, etc). If you decide to come school here in Canny, your husband and children could join you in about 6 months.

spicengo:
good day i have been following this segment for a while. i wish to apply for the skill worker. i am a graduate of accounting working currently as a caterer. i am an employer of labour. my husband is a lawyer cum police officer. Are we eligible to apply and who is to be the principal applicant. do i apply as an accountant or a cateer or as an employer? Also the WES will it be sent back to me?

i was also contemplating schooling instead but at what point can my children and husband join me? pls i need help

@dupyshoo, that is a very comprehensive, complete, and true info from the 'poster'. Thanks. I keep wondering why people focus on Manitoba and Sask (Majorly) when other provinces have their programs.

My major concern, however, is on British Columbia's Express Entry BC – International Graduate, number 4 requirement. The statement "In addition, you must have 2 years work experience directly related to the job that is offered." may not be that exact because this is the stream a friend of mine that we graduated together applied for just last month (and he has not been working for up to 2 years).

The minimum requirement basically is 1 year (equivalent of 30 hours per week) but generally, that info is complete and accurate. Also, the program guide and technical guide of the BC streams (PDF) will give more info as to the minimum points one needs to get an ITA (105 points for some of the streams).

Check this link for a centre in Nigeria:

Please also ensure you write the General IELTS exam for this immigration purpose. I hope this helps!

Good evening house, i'm a first timer and read through cic website that before creating an express entry profile, i must write an English proficiency test. Can someone please put me through the processes of writing a Canadian English proficiency test in Nigeria?

Bro, i don't think there is any condition attached to that. Change of marital status will not change your study permit status. Also, your spouse will be given the Open work permit after you get to Canada. I was once in your shoes, so no worries!

noblealuu:
Pls Forumites may I request for insights into the condition(s) attached to getting married after receiving study permit before leaving for Canada. Will there be any hassles/pitfalls as regards once Visa in the interim before resumption for School?

Secondly, what are the chances of one's spouse getting spousal Open work permit in this scenerio?

Urgent replies, pls!

Best regards...

Hmmm...his cousin and brother would have to apply for themselves differently because they are not his dependents (wife and/or children). His children are his family members that can/must be disclosed in his application for immigration (PR).

Gurus in the house pls help me out.
I was asked by someone who is also planning to relocate to canada if his cousin (age 29) and his brother (age 25) could also follow him. His is married with two kids (under d age of 6). Thanks

Thanks! I meant less than 8 months.

This is not true. You can get PGWP with 8 months study. Check this link.

Hello people!

Well done to everyone helping 'everyone' here.

I have seen my question talked around but no very clear answer yet please. Kindly advice someone who has BSC and MBA I know the highest certification is what is to be verified BUT does anyone know of anyone, or can anyone prove that verifying both can give more points?
Please respond I just want to be certain before moving on.

Thanks!!!

Verifying the highest degree will surely give you more points (Masters in this case). Check the link here:

Hi Folks.

For Durham college, their Information Security Graduate certificate is for 2 semesters, how many years pgwp will I be eligible for?
If given 1 year, will I be able to apply for MSc during or after? Otherwise would I be able to work and seek for an extension based on skilled migration or the job I am doing?

Thank You

Cc thesoj

If the two semesters would last for 8 months (which is usual duration), then no PGWP. If it is 1 year, then 1 year PGWP. You can apply for MSc in other schools during or after the program. I would advise you get another 1 year program before you decide to apply for PGWP so as to get a 2-3 year PGWP. That is not the route to Skilled migration but CEC.

Because of validity issue, your Police certificate should be processed after you receive your ITA. Don't worry it's a simple process and it takes mints/hours. Focus on your ielts and Eca so you can know your CRS score, in other to decide how to proceed next.

All the best.

That is right if you reside in Nigeria only but otherwise, you should get your police certificate immediately you are in the Express Entry pool. Pls read the info on this link:

Oga Princey83 have given the reasons i would give. Manitoba joba lori New Brunswick anyday anytime. Also, it is cost effective.

LOL @bolded

What are the reasons for the above conclusion? Someone earlier advised that we should not focus on just one province. I just want to broaden my knowledge please.

Gymme, guru? No pls. Just sharing ideas based on my experience here in Canny.

I would advise you go for the Manitoba application.

Good evening irondome, dupyshoo, zandora, JesusDWay, Slimmsyyetty, Tola73, Etfash, beyunce, hartson, princey83, Gymme, other gurus

We recently applied for Manitoba PNP having received Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) from the Province.

Few days ago, we both received a mail from New Brunswick inviting us to attend their Information Session in Dubai in respect of their PNP. A friend actually encouraged us to register for the event before we got LAA from Manitoba.

My question is this: considering the financial implications of attending the session in the UAE, do you think it is really worth it to attend when we have already applied for the Manitoba PNP?

NB:Spouse is the primary applicant but we both applied for the New Brunswick Information Session.

WES should evaluate any degree that is verifiable. I would suggest you send the degree (B.Sc. or PGD) that directly relates to your previous work experience.

To get more CRS points, you could evaluate both degrees 'as in this case'.

Ladon7:
House, pls which cert can I send for evaluation, B.Sc or PGD. I don't know if WES evaluate PGD.

I'm gonna advise that you include both Fixed and Personal accounts with a letter to explain that the funds were being transferred on a regular basis for the PR application. There is no harm in giving them all your shots. No document is too much for them to handle. For the records, no one would ask or confirm anything before they send you ITA (they don't have the luxury). They can only verify after you have applied for PR itself and make sure what you filled in the EE pool is the same with your PR application. I hope this helps.

ramsol00:

@ JesusDWay

Please as regards using fixed deposit, would they verify

or ask for how long the fund had been fixed before ITA

and how the fund accrued up to the fixed amount from

my personal account (primary source) before it was

fixed?

I.e. is it a problem if I fix the fund on Monday n I get ITA

say by July n submit the fixed deposit certificate as my

POF by same July .?

Do I have to explain how that amount added up in my

personal account before fixing it or just the certificate is

enough proof?

Thanks as I await your response.

Ideas and opinions are much welcome from other

people in the house.

God bless us all .

If his work experiences are majorly in Engineering, his B.Sc is more important to IRCC for EE. Because when filling the application for EE, he will be asked what qualification he has and the date he became qualified to start working in his NOC category. I hope this helps.

oloriesther:
Good afternoon all, my family wants to start the PR process with my husband as the principal applicant. He has a B.Sc in Engineering and an MBA (Masters in Business Admin).please which of the certificates should he send to WES for ECA. Is the MBA enough to WES and for the EE application since is NOC is under engineering & I.T management.
Thanks for your prompt response

Yes you need to write a language test like IELTS before you can create an Express Entry profile. You may want to start the process for getting a police report, and ECA report (for your degrees).
