Wearing a bowler hat as a sign of culture...

So till 200 years or so ago when the white men came you guys diidnt have culture? No offence some ethnic groups in Baylessa rivers and delta re just clownish.... they just import all sorts of things Into thier culture.

Look well at the pic of ayeri shaking hands with buhari
Yiu will see a cross in the crown of thier kin ryt at at the top.. I mean is he the king of england ? Is he even a Christian? Hmmm na waooo undecided

That they took accessories from a culture they traded with for decades makes them clowns? They can opt to wear their full native regalia if they want.
So what about our lawyers that still wear those mops on their heads. They are clowns too right?

Damn this is so bad. These are streets and facilities my parents used to brag about as their "Port Harcourt Township" while growing up.

Nothing has been done in decades to give these places a facelift. It's a big shame for one of the largest oil producing cities in the world. I give up on Africa.

He bleeped Mary Magdalene and his disciples join. Have you forgotten that he na badt guy and a sodomist...lol

Lol, I don't know about this o. But the guy appears at birth, then 12years later challenging his elders at temple and almost 20years later to complete his "ministry".

No details of his teenage life, did he date? did he get his heart broken? was he even a normal kid or a hippie?

His early adult days also have no records. Just three years ministry and boom he elevates back home leaving me with the burden to follow his scantily recorded steps.

Could he have stuck around a bit longer to manage businesses, marry and participate in politics? Nope, homeboy was too cool for that. Abeg these people should leave man to enjoy this life we have been lucky to get.

People keep bashing OP, insecure bla bla bla... But the question is a genuine one. Serious messed up shit is happening out there. So what if he is insecure? Prevention is better than cure.

To answer your question OP. There is no guarantee and no wife friendly jobs. It all depends on the individual. My advice, have a life outside of marriage and don't let your happiness depend on fidelity of your wife. Human beings are messed up. You won't be the first or last a woman cheats on if it happens. It's not the end of the world.

Thank you Sir. We are just confused in this country, conservative when it suites us and look the other way to some degenerates. Dunno why we cant have one "good" dictator to steer this country the right way.

Politics / Re: Obi Of Onitsha Commissions Dualised Sani Abacha Road Constructed By Wike(pics) by habebe1(m): 10:16pm On Jun 08, 2018
My brother the thing tire me o. I don't even know where to start. Ameachi must have dualized nothing less than 15 major roads in port Harcourt including ikwerre road, oginigba, rumuola, old aba road, ada George, the damn length of checking point all the way down to uniport. Agip flyover, the flyover near SARS. Just to name a few road projects. The health centres and model Primary schools were also top notch projects because they decongested upth and bmh. I don't know what wrong ameachi did to rivers people that turned the people against him. It really baffles me. Is it because he supported a northerner instead of his "brother". The man has his shortcomings and can be very stubborn and arrogant. But there is no way in my opinion wike measures up in terms of protects.
Antipob777:
Wike has not done one tenth of what Amaechi did in Rivers state. Ameachi did much in all LGAs in Rivers state but wike only doing jobs in obio akpor and Phalga.

Amaechi did a lot of projects and never made noise but wike who is doing sub standard project keep making noise.

I may not like Amaechi but I will stand for truth, the man did so much in Rivers state.

Wike cannot in anyway be compared to Amaechi.

Amaechi built flyovers many places, expanded and dualized standard roads in Rivers state.

May God bless Amaechi and punish all the Igbos pigs and idiots commenting rubbish here.

Nothing new here, typical woman who has passed her prime trying to spoil market for the younger ones. If you like Nack before or after marriage, the novelty of sex must fade sometime and should not be relied upon as a foundation for sustainable union.

Religion / The Church Needs To Do More For The Nigerian Society by habebe1(m): 9:55pm On May 06, 2017
I think I should start with a disclaimer that this post is not aimed at attacking people of faith but rather a call to action.

Leaving an environment for a while and returning to it later, an observant eye is eager to pick out changes that might have occurred while away. These changes could simply be for the better or worse.
I returned to Port Harcourt a month ago after being away for close to a year and not surprisingly there were a few changes, mostly infrastructural projects. And while kudos have to be given to the present and past administration for this development, the observant eye once again notices that this development does not reflect on the lives of the inhabitants of this "city". The socio economic life of Port Harcourt in my opinion is at an all time low. Simply put " money no de". I will not want to go into details what the cause could be.

This city used to come behind only lagos and abuja in trends and investment but the only start up that seems obvious in recent years( besides betting shops) is churches, they are springing up everywhere. Prophet, evangelist, mummy, prophetess, apostles posing on huge sign boards with their spouses on every Street you turn. Their programmes run from Sunday to Sunday.

While I reserve comments on the motive of these mushroom churches, I have always been an admirer of the christian institution and what it did for Africans. I was invited and attended a holy ghost commuinion service ( on a tuesday evening) at one of the new generation churches and was surprised at the turn up.

The main hall was filled up (4000 estimate) as well as the seats outside and it goes without saying that a large percentage were young people. That was when it hit me that the Church in southern Nigeria could be doing a lot more to put pressure on the government, I don't see any other body that unites us this much. At the end of service as we all stepped out and struggled to get into rickety taxis ( ph has so many), I thought about the pastors forfeiting next month's commuinion service offering and rather staging a match to ministry of transportation to complain about the lack of one single govt bus in Port Harcourt. How about some serious pressure to find a solution to the soot that is becoming part of our lives. Can the christian body rather than selling hope and dreams pressure the government into looking for progressive ways to handle refuse disposal in ph? ( they could just ask Ambode). As a coastal city can we have our seaport and airports working properly again?

I know the primary duty of the church is salvation, but it does not say well of the institution when it keeps selling hopes and dreams of prosperity every week without taking charge as a stakeholder in our society. It needs to do more than be a refuge and weekly entertainment centre.
Romance / Re: Man Rants After His Friend Got Cheated On By A Girl He Placed On 100k Salary by habebe1(m): 4:02pm On Apr 17, 2017
This is one of the biggest fears most men have. And for that amount of investment, it is definitely going to sting real bad. You spend all that money and the thing you think is exclusive to you is being offered to another or more on a platter. So it is left for smart guys to think... What is the way forward?

*Do I voluntarily spend and take care of her and not care if she is sleeping with someone else? This way I can avoid any surprises or heartbreak?
* Do I step up my game and look for a professional lady who has her own money and less time to sleep around? ( does not guarantee she won't have another dude)
* Are relationships and marriages even worth it any more. Has monogamy failed? Isn't it better to sleep with a few more women with the 1.2m per annum spent on this babe.

There is no vagina worth more than 25k in Nigeria in my opinion for those who want a quick lay. As for relationships, I advocate equality to an extent. Can't be paying for somebody to be in my life, that seems needy rather than caring or loving.

Big brother messed up with the evictions, the two guys left in the house are weak, sucking upto this unpleasant simian bully. They should hurry up and round up. The house is damn boring now.

To be honest, Nigeria is still a developing country and really does not need all this restrictions. When oyinbo were destroying the climate to fuel their development them no talk. The Paris agreement Obama signed is about to be repealed by Trump so as to get people employed in sectors that would have been closed. We need to get our priorities right in this country. Did China even sign this crap?

Business / Stamp Duty Charges On Savings Accounts by habebe1(m): 9:59am On Feb 08, 2017
I woke up this morning to an accumulated sum being debited from my savings account as stamp duty charges. A little research i did showed the tax was imposed January 2016 but exempted savings accounts then. However on an undisclosed date, the savings account has apparently been included for taxation by the CBN on all incoming transactions above N1000. All these is going on regardless of a court of appeal ruling for such charges to be discontinued.

Please is there any one else being charged this ridiculous tax on their savings account? i bank with diamond anyway.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed that our " finest" residential ( maitama, asokoro, lekki, banana) and top business areas don't come close in terms of structure, scenery and aesthetics when compared to Europe and even some other emerging Asian and African countries.
I don't know who to blame, architects, town planning or government in General? Or maybe it's just a reflection of us as a people. No finesse or attention to detail in this our country
Travel / Re: Has Someone Treated You Poorly Until They Discovered You Were Wealthy? by habebe1(m): 8:06am On Sep 07, 2016
There is this correlation between affluence and big body in this our country. For a slim young man like me, I feel people often look at me like you never chop bellefull. Trying to get to sky lounge at eko hotel and the security at the elevator will always block me stylishly and ask if I know where i' m going. Meanwhile fat ajebo kids, orobo madams, oyinbo etc just walk past. Mind you the floor where the lounge is cannot be accessed without having the access card which comes with having a room in the hotel. No be there fault sha, na me de lazy to hit gym.
