Jokes EtcCan You Crack This CRAAAZY Puzzzle? by Hackomania(op): 11:21pm On Aug 08, 2013
Ok friends..

I know you love puzzles. And I want to share one with you. Use every resource at your disposal, but please when you solve it, tell us how you achieved the feat.

Here goes...

I'm a seven letter word:

_ T _ A _ S _

clue:
1. Girls love it.
2. Boys use it.
3. Parents hate it.
4. Animals are scared of it.

You think you can crack this? Your time starts now...

Christianity EtcI Lost My Virginity To A Ho by Hackomania(op):
The topic may look like one that should not be in the religion section of nairaland, but I want to share with you an experience...

Big party in my neighborhood, somewhere in the posh areas of Lagos… I wonder what I was doing there, but I was having fun. A song I’ve always told myself I hated, but deep down within my vanity self, I love the KC Fresh latest hit. Whether I was tipsy with wine or otherwise, I cannot remember, but I felt completely in my senses. I knew I had done enough already by showing my face, but on seeing another Christian brother, I felt a little safe.
Looking at this girl down there from the balcony, she really looks sexy. News has it that she’s one if the biggest hos in the area, but this was my first time seeing her, and I admit, she’s really pretty.
One major issue though, she had a very short cheerleader skirt. Short is an understatement; clothes were meant to cover unclothedness, but this was doing nothing of that sort. I’d say it was only covering her waist and even accentuating her buttocks which was entirely uncovered… I could see every single thing even from the balcony!
How it happened, I cannot remember, but before I knew it, I was dancing with her at the ball, and next thing I knew, my fingers were in-between her legs, exploring areas you shouldn’t imagine.
Minutes later, we were in a large room that serves also as convenience for both ladies and gents; it has a big bed at one corner and the conveniences at the other. Maybe I was tipsy, but how did I manage to get tipsy? I don’t drink, so what exactly took over my sense of reasoning? This is probably lust, pure animal lust.
Before I knew it, I had my head between her legs, and she was shivering with ecstasy… Then I heard a still small voice, “Stop there. This is how far you can go. You’ve done enough already. Beyond here, there’s no going back”...
.
.
.
.
.
.
Now you may ask, what’s the point of this story? It may be very disconnected and hazy, but I tell you this because as a child of God, there are some restrictions you must place on yourself for the sake of your righteousness. One of them is partying. Partying could lead you to actions you could live to regret all your life.

Christianity EtcAtheists To Start 1-800 Hotline For Doubters by Hackomania(op): 7:22am On Jun 05, 2013
Who can people call when religious doubts arise, but they're afraid to talk to their faith leaders or families?
A group that helps people "recover" from religion says it's ready to pick up the phone.
Recovering from Religion, which has about 40 support groups in the U.S. and Britain, plans to launch a hotline that will offer doubters an anonymous place to ask difficult questions and find communities of like-minded nonbelievers.
The group plans to staff the help line 24 hours a day and is modeling it after services like suicide prevention hotlines.
Sarah Morehead, executive director of Recovering from Religion, told CNN that the mission is to help people, not convert them to atheism.
“A lot of the times they just need someone to talk to," Morehead said.
The 1-800 number has yet to be named. Recovering from Religion is trying to raise $30,000 by June 30 to fund "The Hotline Project" with up to 40 counselors.

ProgrammingCan You Develop Applications With Your Smartphone? by Hackomania(op): 1:39pm On Jun 04, 2013
The topic says it all. Is there a way to develop applications with your smartphone? I did my research on this possibility, and it has returned interesting results. But before I jump the gun, I wanna ask the gurus in the house first.

Do you(or have you ever) developed programs with your mobile device?
If yes
What was the experience like?
The pros, the cons, how did it feel?

I'm the kind of person that the only time my brain is relaxed enough to program is when I don't have access to a laptop, so I'm thinking of doing more programming on a smartphone

ighoosagie: Psalm 51:16-17 NIV
GOD do not delight in sacrifice or I would bring it; you do not pleasure in burnt offerings. My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.
Nice one there sire.
To others that conclude that Pastor Adeboye is a fraud, have you been to any of his sermons? You will discover that he ALWAYS concludes them with a call to salvation. Maybe most of his followers no longer emphasize on the importance of salvation, but he still does. Its like blaming the bible for asking for tithe when it also asks you to receive the Christ the son of God. Read the whole book; study the whole man before you draw your conclusions.

The GeekForce contest, targeted at youths gives them the opportunity to be a part of Etisalat Nigeria Technical Customer Retail Support Team (at least that what I would call it) for a year where they get to collaborate with mobile device manufacturers and OEMs, activate, configure and troubleshoot devices, just to mention but a few.

FamilyIt's Children's Day! What Have You Done Differently For A Child Today? by Hackomania(op): 5:08pm On May 27, 2013
It’s Children’s day today. And in my country, Nigeria, today is the day we shall see a display of the true Nigerian child. After days, and weeks, of hard work and rehearsals, these children shall be donning the colours of the Nigerian child and engage in lots of activities, usually a joy to watch. When I was little (I still am, I guess), there used to be a state-wide (and also nation-wide) march past at the Stadium, where children of different schools show off hours of rigorous training and exercise by performing near-military grade march and stunts (I never made it to any of those events though; maybe I was too “lanky”).

But between those times and now, a lot has happened, and unfortunately, much is not too positive. The Arabs are fighting, the Shiites are fighting, Syria is (still) fighting, even the seemingly secure US of A is getting bombed, and religion has become more important than humanity. Did I almost forget that the infamous Boko Haram is troubling Nigeria too? No I didn’t. I wonder how children in these troubled areas of Africa, Asia and the Middle East will celebrate today. On the local front, many schools and state governments have indefinitely postponed all forms of public march, and I wonder what fun there still is to Children’s day.

But leaving the depressing part aside, there’s a lot to hope for in this generation. There are now really cool gadgets, some good enough to rival Spy Kids and Double-O-Seven. But most of these gadgets are still only accessible to those in the developed and the high class of the developing nations. What happens to children in remote cities in India, Paraguay, Nepali, Nigeria, and the likes? Many have never set eyes on a laptop in their lives, and those that have, cannot afford to get one.

This is why I love the initiative of the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC), a not-for-profit organisation that aims to “create educational opportunities for the world’s poorest children by providing each child with a rugged, low-cost, low-power, connected laptop with content and software designed for collaborative, joyful, self-empowered learning. When children have access to this type of tool they get engaged in their own education. They learn, share, create, and collaborate. They become connected to each other, to the world and to a brighter future.” I love children, and I would want them to enjoy the same benefits adults enjoy, including exposure to information technology. Everyone (figuratively) now has at least one gadget or the other, but we leave the poor children out, maybe because we believe they should be stuck with just paperbacks, or maybe because we cannot afford such luxury for them.

9jadelta: so u admit it's silly?
Groping in the dark, without a guide, is silly, yes. And the world is full of so many uncertainties. The only thing I'm very certain of is that all will end one day (whether with death, or related events). I am not even sure of tomorrow. That's why I leave all to Christ, and follow him (Trust me, faith is a concept not comprehensible by physical thinking and analysis). Only the Spirit of God can be a guide in the walk through the uncertainties and darkness of life

Even google, wont do jack unless he files a formal complaint, and this would be a waste of time. He should not care, if his pages are ranking higher.

This is why i say it's not enough to learn to use fantastico to install a blog anymore - you need to learn the technical stuff - move with the times or become a dinosaur.

Jide should try to block i.p's and bot's on his blog - he can do this in .htaccess files.

block all
allow googlebot, yahooslurp, bing, miva, yandex and other know bots
block others.

Grap the ip of naijafinder and place it in your banhost's of better wordpress security.

Nigeria Computer Society Invitation to Job Fair - Abuja
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY JOB AND CAREER FAIR The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) is the nation's foremost network of Information Technology (IT) practitioners with membership strength of over 10,000, comprising IT professionals, Interest Groups and Stakeholders.
A lot of Computer Science & related courses graduates today find it difficult to access or get gainful employment after graduation. At least they would have called themselves content aggregators. It would be understandable, with at least a link back to "stolen" content. No one is the original source of every single content online, that's why Google respects backlinks. But copying without recognizing the original author is outrightly criminal. Google should stop indexing the site (can google do that if they are requested to? I've not tried that before).
And as a sidenote, you've been doing great @Jide, you're an encouragement to us blogging starters. #Respect

PhonesDid Larry Page Just Insult Africa And India? by Hackomania(op): 8:16am On May 16, 2013
Thanks to not-too-bad-bandwidth, I was at the Google I/O developer conference yesterday. It was nice though (except that Google is beginning to copy other apps) Google Maps now feels more like Siri, Google+ is now like Facebook + Pinterest. But that's by the way.
Larry Page (he's the CEO of Google, and brain behind PageRank) made a comment I feel doesn't paint my continent, and invariably, my country in a good light.
https://res.cloudinary.com/echo-solutions/image/upload/v1368688293/blob_on8c6r.png

Question (from a developer at the conference): Can you discuss Google’s plan to bring the developing world online?

Larry: One of the things I’ve always talked about with the company is that smartphones are going to be, basically, amazing in this places. You don’t see them going into India or Africa because they’re just too expensive. We need to get them to $50, $100. We’re quickly getting to those levels. In 2 or 3 years, the smartphones we’re using today will be all over these countries.

My question: What is this supposed to mean? Did anyone just forget that we are one of the biggest drivers in the mobile phone market? Wasn't the Galaxy S4 just launched in Nigeria a few hours ago, just days after its launch worldwide? Is this not an insult?
Larry needs to visit Computer village and see for himself abeg.
