- I plan to learn up to B1 here in Nigeria, would you recommend I learn on my own or enrol in a language school? ( My plan is to learn A1 and A2 on my own then maybe enrol in a language school for B1)

If you have the money, i will suggest you learn it in a language school. Learn A1 before you enrol in any language school.

Learning it on your own requires a commitment, endurance etc.

It's not easy to learn it on your own but there is no harm in trying.

Guten Abend Hadampson this is a wonderful thread and have been very helpful. Am an absolute beginner in learning German like u said earlier the language you have least interest in is the hardest to learn while the one you are interested in is easier to learn. Its not up to a month I started learning on my own av downloaded YouTube videos and even apps, now I can write the alphabet in German and I can recite the numbers 1 to 100 and can even write it I also learn and recite more than 30 new German words everyday. I plan to learn German up to level b2 before taking any of the exams. But as am in the east I don't have access to Goethe institute so I was very happy to find this thread . pls I will love to learn more and ask you questions if you don't mind also any advice and tips on learning more will be appreciated Danke ( chai I don even sabi greetings for German)
