olandex: good morning there, is not that I didn't trust in your words but I have to know the reason for denied and I have also booked another appointment before posting my experience for my attempted, now I have given my 3rd attempted, and I was also denied, the interview goes like this, vo:were are you working? Me: told, vo:what did you do Dre? me:I worked as a system analysis, I DESIGN DEVELOP AND TEST APPICATIONS FOR THE CLIENTS, vo :wat kind of applications you develop and test, me:I told him, vo:which school will you be going? Me : southern Connecticut state university, vo :y? Me: although it was recommended by my uncle, whom also finished his master degree at dsame university, and I also went for research to no what special in university, and I found out that this university was founded as a teacher college in 1893 AND SCSU has been evolved over the past century into a comprehensive university offering 114 graduate and undergraduate programs. More than 700 faculty members lead students through a wide range of studies and research specialties and southern Connecticut state university is accredited by the Connecticut board of governors for higher education. Vo:which cause? Computer science?vo:y me: cos it related to my previous study and I ve got a strong interest in the field. Vo: which course w you b taking em, em hmm subject? Me: I mentioned, he heard something like program, and he asked me mention types of programming language, me: high level language, low level language. He didn't let me finish my words, did you take any exams,. Me: it was not necessary for Nigeria student from polytechnic to get admission to us and others country. Vo:I don't mean TOEFL SAT GRE, I mean RA, TA EXAM, I DON'T understand the meaning, and I said no, and said who is sponsoring you? I said my father, and he started typing, and said I am sorry I can't give you visa this time I wish you best of luck next time, and I asked him y, he told me I w found it in the paper he gave me, and I said it's cus I don't take any test? He said am sorry I have another person to attend to. Pls meaning of RA, TA EXAM i don't know why we never listen and take simple advice / instructions. only lazy students like shortcuts and never want to write standardized tests. writing it gives you confidence to face the embassy as a student and also it makes the vo see you as a serious minded students cos all students must write exams to show yourself approved. we should try and give ourselves respect and dignify Nigerian students. the N31200 times i don't know how many times you've been denied can pay for TOEFL and GRE comfortably with change. if i am the VO i will NEVER grant your visa and moreover your transcript is not very complete because you are concealing a lot of information. no standardized exams = POTENTIAL MIGRANT to most VOs. brother.. go write a standardized test.. if you no get sense there are plenty places to lend from ..this thread is one. |

Also i thought the data transfer is completed almost immediately payment is confirmed. This is also not acceptable.
i have paid for more than four hours now only to meet the site down due to maintenance. The last time i used your service i had to call several times before i was attended to.
Please if you are not ready for business kindly pack-up and shut down like crush and stop annoying us.

portelli: visa delayed in Abuja by one strict vo at window 9.
This is how it went:
me: ( with smiling face ) Good morning ma'am vo: good morning, pass me ur docs me: (passes them ) vo: ( types for a while ) u re studying, u re a student? me: yes vo: which school me: xyz state polytechnic vo: which course me: 3-month noncredit course on mech eng vo: what will u study in US me: mechanical engineering vo: why study in US me: because academic experience and degrees from US universities are highly recognised and valued all over the world especially here by Nigerian employers. they....( she cuts ) vo: how many schools did you apply to me: 4 schools vo: how many accepted you me: I was accepted by four of the schools vo: what are they me: uni of Maryland, njit , uni of Bridgeport &SUNY college at buffalo vo: so why this school me: I chose this school because of d competitiveness I recognised in their mech eng course when compared to oda universities mech eng courses that I applied for, which includes a well structured and cutting edge curriculum with a solid theoritical and extensive hands-on education, combined with a well equipped modern laboratories. most importantly dedicated and outstanding faculties who are experts and whose top priority is to inculcate in me the mech eng xperience dat can hep me to advance my career here in 9ja (she cuts) vo: when did u finish sec skool me: 2009 v.o: what have been doing me: in 2010 I took jamb which gave me entrance to a national diploma course on mech end in 2011 and grad in 2013 after den undertuk a 1yr IT which was a mandatory requirement for my ND course on March eng and currently now attending a 3-month noncredit course on mech eng to keep me fit for this course I will face in US. vo: did you write SAT me: no but I took TOEFL vo: who's paying for your fees me; my dad vo: what does he do me: he is the owner and CEO of xyz enterprises nig ltd the market leader in the importation and distribution of all kinds of electrical and electronic appliances and also automobile spare parts with head office in Lagos state and 10 other branched offices across the country. vo: has ur dad travelled out me: no ma'am vo: unfortunately visa cannot be approved blaa bla bla h
from the last qstion and answer that I gave, I can see the mistake. But my dad does online business, doesn't travel. but I think I should have convinced the vo by telling the vo that he travels out even though he doesn't, since getting visa was the priority. Pls gurus in the house, out of this transcript, what caused the delay, pls don't cast aspersions because we all here to learn. No one knows it all. that window 9..last window to the right.....i thank God i no near that window. bro just take your time and reapply ..go get your visa...you shall be favored next time. |

dicapino: Lolz. Make i even ask yu here. I need yur advice is it prudent to take an MS in Pet Eng( move from Mech Eng). Most of my friends are telling me it is streamlined and oil and gas is on a decline. the greatest don dicapino people will always give you advice based on the limitations of them exposure.... na them giv u money register for TOEFL ? GRE ? apply do sleepless night ask endless questions and now at this point you having a rethink..... i know of many success stories if you don't knw of... petroleum engineering might only seem a narrow end when done at B.sc level but witha base in mechanical engineering with your knowledge of machines, fluid dynamics and thermodynamics..the sky can only be ur footstool. petroleum industry is not as narrow as you might take it to be...also remember that gas is the future...it drives lots of sectors...fracking technology is also there and other computer modifications and realisations to help in deep water wells, and for enhanced oil recovery. if you allow me to go on and on and on... i took my time to research and maybe if you don't know....gas is the future.....it also drives plants turbines and for energy generation. Nigerias gas reserves has not even been touched..we still dey flare gas... imo anambra ondo has large gas reserves....where is the expertise to make it commercial ? This is just a summary of numerous potentials embedded in the world of petroleum...you can peruse spe.org and download some of them resources to have a firsthand knowledge of the field you about to venture into.. also not forgetting its the highest paying engineering. As for the price of oil...its normal....it comes and goes not minding lots of folitics and vavanipulations of various communities. Take time to critically peruse on any online resource about the world of petroleum ..... am sure those people advising you are not practicing engineers. please be guided. |

@denzel 360 it differs for different schools.
ground rule for GRE you send your result to the school when you see your result instantly at your exam center or you send later at a fee of $20 per school.
as for the recommendation letter some schools requires the recommender send recommendation via there official email. some also require them to fill online forms.
but ULL will require you to fill a form sign and scan to them.
Thanks |
