Project400: ...same principle with today's honeymoon.
Life expectancy in those days was huge. So, it is very rational to take out 1 year out of 600+ Years as alone time with your spouse. Methuselah lived 969 years, right? (Genesis 5:27).
Worthy of note is that God progressively shortened human life, specifically after the flood. So looking at the old testament verse you quoted - Deut 24: 5, we cannot safely apply same principle as, I earlier mentioned, life expectancy differ. Don't tell me you actually believe that |

mrZENographer: Yes he was so wise that the Queen of Sheba fainted because of his wisdom. The marvellous wonders she heard about him was enough. She came and saw that what she heard was not only true but a piece of cake. Solomon also answered all her questions that no wise man, mystic or socerer had answers to and more.
King Solomon made gold to be as plentiful as stones in Isreal.
Twenty years from now, someone with jonydon22's brain will say Buhari was never a president of Nigeria and Abacha was a loving and peaceful man who lived until 2016. He also invented sport cars. Someone with okeke00's brain will say that the reason for fuel scarcity in Nigeria was the christians. It's pathetic that such human beings do exist. @ bolded, what were the questions that the Queen of Sheba asked King Solomon? |

analice107: Thousands died of Ebola in Nigeria? Did the outbreak occur only in Nigeria? I thought your god was the god of the whole universe? Do you mean to say that when you pray, it only covers Nigeria because of your geographic location? The Ebola outbreak in West Africa was first reported in March 2014, and rapidly became the deadliest occurrence of the disease since its discovery in 1976.
In fact, the epidemic killed five times more than all other known Ebola outbreaks combined.
More than 21 months on from the first confirmed case recorded on 23 March 2014, 11,315 people have been reported as having died from the disease in six countries; Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, the US and Mali.
The total number of reported cases is about 28,637.

analice107: I remember that time vividly. And I also remember how many hours everyday we spent praying for God to intervene. Ebola, as far as we were concern was not Man made. Atleast, not Nigerian made. It was a plague, and we handled it as such. I know how many times we went without food, standing in the gap. I happen to live in a town where the threat was highest. I Happened to know "one on one" the medical Doctor in question who first died of it. Dr Charles. So dear, we, I prayed. And we prevailed. Shame on Satan. What about the thousands that died? The ratio of people that died from ebola far outweigh those that survived it. Why didn't your prayers work then? |

VictorRomanov: Read verse 8 then 9
8 O daughter of Babylon, who is soon to be devastated, Happy will be the one who rewards youWith the treatment you inflicted on us. 9 Happy will be the one who seizes your childrenAnd dashes them against the rocks.
So that portion wasn't talking about child training rather it was the Israelite hoping the Babylonians would be treated the way they treated Israel.
By the way this thread in no way mentions either the bible or the Quran. So I am wondering why you bring your disdain for them into a discussion about child rearing! Yeah. The quote is irrelevant. It is just that, most people in these climes get their inspiration and understanding from religion. Most Nigerian homes are governed by parents who have no idea about empathy and who expect too much from their children. From the story above, it is obvious that the parents are more concerned about pushing blame than facing the issue. It would make more sense if they cooperate with each other and try to solve the issue. No matter how hard you try to hide things of the world from kids, they will eventually find out and seek to experiment. It is important for the parents to guide the kids in their decisions and their mistakes. |

VictorRomanov: Maybe you should check that again. I am a Christian and I've never read that from any bible. I don't know of the Quran. But what I do know is this:
Proverbs 18:13.
And that is what the parents of both kids are doing! The bible also says "Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks." in Psalm 137:9 |

VictorRomanov: I don't know what book u re referring to. But the constitution of Nigeria prohibits sex before 18. My point is rather than pointing fingers of blame on who seduced who, the parents should talk to their children about why they shouldn't be having sex at such an age. Get to know why they even doing what they re doing.
By the way everything is wrong with young love! We are saying the same thing. The fact that having sex at such an age is wrong won't do much to prevent. Parents have to handle the issue with understanding. Abi, you no play mummy and daddy when you small? I was referring to the holy books. The Quran and the bible. One of the book supports underage marriage and the other supports hypocrisy. Spare the rod and spoil the child. None of these books teach parents to be understanding to their children |

VictorRomanov: You see Nigerian parents! Nigerian parents need courses on parenting. Seriously! Instead of getting to the root of the problem - why under age children would be having sex, they are throwing blames like through passes. The result: the children will learn to do it without being caught; maybe go to a friends place or rent a room at a cheap hotel. From there they will go places while forming good children at home.
They have money to throw away in court. The lawyers will laugh at this!
Nigerian parents end up making their children professional hypocrites. Exactly. Nigerians continue act like they cannot think for themselves but will rather be governed by a book full of obvious lies. What is wrong with young love? Why can't they just dialogue and explain to their kids what they are getting into? Apparently, the parents are neither mature nor enlightened enough to parent. |

analice107: Faithfeewdom.org is Ali Sina's Website. I have seen this article long ago. I go there often. He has helped a lot of muslims convert.
It's from him I discovered why muslims think the way they do. Their definition of terms is according to what Islam says, not what those terms are to every normal person. Stealing is not a crime if what you stole belongs to a christian or Jew. Immorality is when a Muslim sees a woman's arms and legs, but if he engages in sex with a 9years old girl it's okay, why? because Muhammed did it. Opposite of everything. This is the signature of Satan, but people under siege don't see. hahn: I am glad you like it. You can also check out https://www.nairaland.com/3156088/iceland-declares-christianity-public-health

Christianity is more rational that Islam. If they could get to that point with Christianity, you can bet that Islam is non existent. Most atheists do not take Islam seriously. It is a really silly religion |
