Lol @ god's blessings. There are lots of people who have done or promoted good and have been victimized because of it. Thousands of jews died under Hitler and were good. Where was god then? Weren't there good people on earth when god decided to flood the earth and kill everybody? What about all the innocent women and children that god killed in Sodom and Gommorah?

Yes. The God of Israel is who He is because the real Israel comprises everybody from every nation of the world who has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. That includes Nigerians.

Christ came to save the world from eternal damnation, not Hitler. The eternal life He came to bring is not perpetual physical life in the flesh but eternal life with God. He even said in the world, His followers will be persecuted and killed. Did Christ ever promise to save anybody from physical death or persecution? Do you even read the book you criticize? And you even talk about incompetence.

And since Christ came the world has grown worse and is obviously not yet saved. I don't need to read a story book to know that the world is messed up. Your religion only teaches you to ignore what goes on on earth because you are going to HEAVEN. To quote a friend, if there was a perfect go who could create paradise for his creation, he would have done it already.

By claiming we are moral do you mean by being a country that can only produce corrupt leaders, or a country that sees nothing wrong with lynching "suspects" without a fair trial because we lack faith in our judicial system or a country where the youths are busy stealing IMEI just to browse for free?

Developed countries are by no means less moral than us, they only give everyone the right to live as they choose without fear of discrimination meanwhile Yorubas, Ibos and Hausas can barely live together.

Can you honestly point to one "moral" trait of an average Nigerian? undecided

There should be no retribution or punishment of crime and evil because God is a good God.

If your god is as wise as you make him out, he would have had the intelligence to create man perfect. What's the point of creating us with sin and then punishing us for it?

The god of Israel is what it is, the god of Israel. I don't see why Nigerians are bothering themselves.

And he was too incompetent to save the jews from Hitler.

I just came across this group on face book with the name WIRE$ WIRE$ (NO WIRE NO LIGHT) where some Nigerian youths have taken it upon themselves to further humiliate our country by creating a group on facebook that promotes their illegal activities

Theists believe they don't need physical proof, threats and ancient stories are enough, while atheists want to see first before they can believe and this is exactly why when you become atheist it's hard to go back because they is NEVER any proof of spiritual mumbo jumbo.

I have a neighbor who tried that bs with me. He told me he can make fire come out of his hands because say "e dey there". He said before he shows me, I have to promise I won't be scared. I was like, fvkc it and just show me, i'm curious. He went into his house, acted like something was in his hand and after 30mins, he then said, "the spirit told him not to do it". Oh, please! He is very lucky he is the one that bought the alomo we were drinking that night sha, I wouldn't have been happy at all.

Religious/spiritual mumbo jumbo only thrive on the fear of the unknown. Nothing more

Your father is lying and using threats to keep you in check because he probably doesn't understand your agnostic stance. I'd advice you challenge him to meet with the person ASAP. If he doesn't go through with his threat, it will be a good opportunity for you to prove to him that his beliefs are unfounded.

I'm sure that your father is some sort of hero to you and you believe he can't lie but i can guarantee that he is only manipulating you and using fear to get you to start taking god and other fairy-tales seriously. Don't worry, he is only doing it because he loves you and doesn't know any better.

Tell your dad that without proof he should keep his threats to himself.

This is mainly as a result of our poor education system, bad infrastructure, bad leaders, poverty etc.

Our education system doesn't teach us to think for ourselves and is NEVER upgraded. Kids still learn from the same textbooks we learnt from, but with different packaging, the contents are still the same.

Our consistent pitiful plight has put us in a position where we have chosen to expect a "miracle" from an imaginary deity instead of seeking for solutions by ourselves and even though this god does nothing even while the situation degenerates, my people still have blind "faith" and cling onto childhood fairytales.

It is indeed a pitiful situation

Belief is that he is invincible and works in mysterious way, but he never works at all.

Belief in a deity is like having an imaginary friend, as an adult.

The bible and the quran are both religious views/beliefs and nothing more than a compilation of mainly cultural fairytale. The fact that people even still hold on to such beliefs without any apparent evidence is why we are even having this discussion.

None of you have seen either Jesus, Mohammed or any god physically.

That today is Monday isn't a "belief" but a fact and that's why worldwide there are no arguments of today's date but there is a constant argument about the existence of god, his ways and his attributes between inter and even intra religious bodies and their followers.

Your date of birth is a fact because it can't be disputed. If I were to say you're 10years old that wouldn't be true because your real age is a fact.

However, god's ways vary in more than 20,000 ways stemming from different beliefs and backgrounds. That obviously proves that it isn't a fact because if it is man wouldn't have been having diverging views dating back to our existence.
