johnydon22:Nicely put. I have met very kind and loving christians and muslims and I've also met silly ones. Lots of theists get this wrong about atheists. It would be unwise for me to ignore all the good things that RCCG, for instance, have done in people's lives. RCCG actually share food in lots of ghettos and have helped many secure jobs, set their lives on the right path, get good connections, meet their spouses etc and I personally listen to lots of pastors and have some as my role models. But that doesn't mean I believe everything they say. I believe I owe it to myself to be able to discern what is right from what is wrong. @fearlesschicken, take it easy on your fellow theists o |
fearlesschicken:So, I don resemble psychiatrist abi? ![]() Well, you're not a christian at least mentally because you have to believe blindly which you apparently have a problem with. Reminds me of myself back in the day. Even though I was raised by an atheist I chose to believe due to societal pressures, my mom becoming born again(she eventually got fed up with church), some hardship I faced and other factors and even though I never believed in all the superstition and even got labelled as an atheist, just like you, I really wanted to believe in something. However, I've come to the conclusion that the only thing worth believing in is myself. The concept of a supreme being doesn't really add up, especially from religious point of views. Since you believe in love I can only say you're on the path to understanding beyond the dogma that's being peddled in our society and from where I stand it's better to "love" than anything else. Religion will only hinder you from loving universally because it is always about us against them. |

Meneseh, nice one. You just opened and then closed your own thread. I waiting for a response from people that serve from the known unknown. ![]() But first they have to be able to read the write up and then understand ![]() |

Beautiful |
menesheh:True bro. But I always get a headache whenever I read some comments here. When people start talking about "the known unknown" or about how cool it is for their god to burn up people simply because they don't "believe" in their version of the story despite their being good and humble throughout their lifetime I just feel like starting a church and milking these delusionists myself ![]() |
sseunth:GBAM! |
omenka:He is only exhibiting a typical trait of excusing his ignorance with his "juju" beliefs. |
johnydon22:That was how I "borrowed" this quote of yours for that same dude. That guy's reasoning amazes me. I still can't get over his famous "the known unknown" statement. ![]() The ability for theists to substitute reasoning for their "beliefs" is hilarious! |
johnydon22:But that's the problem. How can you get things straight in a discussion with people who don't THINK straight? People who believe in the "known unknown", who believe god is right to push to send people to hell irrespective of how good that person is? Religion makes these people too lazy to think. So, as long as you believe in Jewish mythology, you're good to go even though you don't have an ounce of good in you. One tends to wonder how they sleep at night. I can't wait to get my new e-commerce website up. Ill be selling salvation, fear and other crap to these religious folks and make a hell, pun intended, of money. ![]() ![]() |
John, you have started again o These religious people's matter just tire me abeg |

They normally don't charge till the beginning of a new month. Just leave the cash in your account and your account will be billed in due time. If you don't have cash at that time, your ads will be stopped and you'll have to make payment again but then they'll bill you instantly. I have had a similar experience |
INTROVERT:God should have fought for them. I guess he was busy doing nothing as usual |
INTROVERT:The same way god did nothing when all those people died at the synagogue |
CaptainJune:I am only responsible for what I write. You are responsible for what you understand |
Coolexty:Brother, direct your long article at our leaders. No amount of epistle is going to change anything. I'd advice you stop sitting behind the comfort of your laptop and challenge your local chairman first. Until you do something like that, I aint reading that sh1t |

What can I say? ![]() I guess you can never really take away the human need to believe in something. Nigerians have found solace in religion because it, amongst other things, encourages us to shun our responsiblity. When something good happens, it must be god, and when something happens, it just has to be the devil. Nigerians have to be number one in the ranking of people who refuse to accept responsibility for their actions. If it is not the government it is god and if it isn't god then it is the devil. This same god has failed to reveal itself or repeat all it's "miracles", at least the ones in the bible and other religious story books, in over 2000years. When malaria was a major epidemic, and it still is, killing thousands of people, "it" never performed any miracle nor healed anyone. In its love, as its followers will like us to believe, it let millions of kids and people die. Then a set of humans decided to look into this problem "themselves" until they were able to come up with a cure and thus saved millions of lives. Needless to mention that countries that don't expect god to solve their problems have progressed and broken greater barriers than Africans, who god seems to be only concerned with either sending them to hell or preparing "paradise" with lots of singing jobs, and who still live in abject poverty. Until the average Nigerian understands that he is solely responsible for whatever goes on in his life, we will continue to be faced with people who consider "believing" in something as evidence that that "something" exists. |
