Christianity Etc › Re: What Really Happened In Eden? by hahn(m): 3:17pm On Jun 04, 2015 |
Did this event happen before or after satan's rebellion? XXXXXXXXXXX: This is the first sin recorded in the Bible. The most cunning of all the beasts, the serpent, “beguiled” Eve into eating a piece of forbidden fruit. She ate it and then gave it to her husband, which caused them to realize that they were naked.
The obvious questions are: How can a snake talk? What does an apple have to do with being naked? And, where does the seed of the serpent fit into all this?
The Bible says the serpent was the most “subtil” of all the beasts. He was so like a human, that he could walk, talk, and even have an intelligent conversation. After he beguiled Adam’s wife, God cursed him to be a snake, but not before the damage was done and the seed was planted.
The Bible says in Genesis 3:15 that the serpent had a seed, and God put enmity between the two seeds. Obviously, the serpent’s seed mingled with Eve’s natural seed before the separation. How could all that be a result of eating an apple? Then, a few verses later, “Adam called his wife’s name; Eve because she was the mother of all living.” Note that it does not say Adam was the father of all living.
There are different “fruits” in the Bible. Of course, there is the literal fruit, like an apple, that grows and is consumed for food. There is also the fruit that refers to our works, whether it is natural works such as farming and business, or spiritual works such as performing miracles and preaching the Gospel. Then, there is the fruit of the womb, which refers to conception and childbirth.
Would eating a literal fruit give Adam and Eve the understanding that they were naked? Or, would it take a physical relationship between a man and a woman for them to understand why they should cover certain parts of their bodies? |

The people that lynched the aluu boys were christians. Shekau is a muslim. The slave traders that first came to africa were christians. ISIS members are muslims. Christians burn thieves daily in this country without a fair trial, same goes for muslims. Our corrupt leaders are either muslims or christians. Etc |

frank317: well, i think atheist are hated by the religious because atheist tries to crumble down everything religious folks have believed all their lives.
eg, the falsehood in Islam makes Christians feel they are the true religion while they overlook their own falsehood. Again, the falsehood in Christianity makes muslims feel they are the true religion while they also over look their own falsehood. Atheists on the other hand brings both falsehoods to the open without sentiments and this makes both muslims and christians uncomfortable, hence the hatred. Yes oooo. Don't forget that the morality base of an average theist is concentrated mostly on fear of going to hell or "punishment". Theists can be some of the most selfish individuals ever and the way they "hate" anyone not attending their church or not in their denomination despite the fact that they all worship the same god is alarming |

johnydon22: Actually Jesus never said it would happen 2k years after, He actually thought it would happen during that generation.
e.g When he was addressing his disciples in Matthew 16;28 “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”...
Am sure we know all of them have been dead for more than 2k years now, unless somehow some are still alive till now For real? My bad then. Then he was DEFINITELY high. Never under estimate the potency of jewish weed. |

He propably said that after too much wine at the last supper because its way past 2k years now. Don't you think? Or are we going to keep on guessing the date of the rapture as well like god's existence? |

EUROBOMBER: It is time to start executing people in this country to restore sanity. I am an advocate of death penalty and I believe some crimes should be punished by death.
Rapists should be executed
Terrorists should be executed
Kidnappers should be executed
Fake drug/hard drug dealers should be executed.
Murderers/money ritualists should be executed
Human rights groups campaigning against the death sentence should go to hell and join Satan there. Don't tell me that it is bad to dispatch these despicable set of people to hell because when they harm/kill their victims, they show no mercy at all.
I say execute them all! Nonsense! And what about political thieves? Your list is incomplete without them |
Business › Re: Entrepreneurs: Born Or Made Or Lucky ? -lets Discuss by hahn(m): 11:26am On Jun 03, 2015 |
No one is born to be anything. Your choices, experience, background and point of view(my personal favorite) aid in making you who you are supposed to be.
As regards successful entrepreneurs, you will have to agree that their stories aren't coherent. Take for instance, Mark Zuckerberg who has become a billionaire at such a young age as opposed to Ray Croc who became rich afer the age of 50. The only traits consistent with success are a never-say-die attitude, the willingness to try out new things, a clear set goal and most importantly, in my own opinion, the ability to focus entirely on finding a solution to a need amongst other things. Majority of the richest men, great inventors never worked towards becoming rich, even though they had a total disdain of poverty after experiencing it first hand, instead they were more concerned about solving problems.
Soichiro Honda made his break by inventing the motorcycle after the war in China(I don't know the particular war offhand) after observing that people needed a cheaper more efficient mode of transportation.
Even Mark Zuckerberg only wanted to create something his classmates could use to keep in touch and look at what that has turned into.
Key to becoming successful: Find a need and seek to solve it or find a niche and try to do things differently. Always learn and improve on yourself and always think outside of the box |

plaetton: ^^^ Even more hilarious is that they hope to enjoy all this after they are physically dead. Lol. Oboy, the mind of man truly is made out of clay and can be moulded to whatever shape depending on the sculptor. Unfortunately, the factors needed to properly mould the mind of the average Nigerian are missing such as a proper education, most especially the understanding that aside from what you're taught, in schools or by your parents, it is your responsibility to also seek knowledge, challenge popular beliefs so as properly enlighten one's self. It is only then that one can truly be motivated to be the change one seeks. Go to secondary schools for instance and you'll find out that they answer the same waec questions that were answered by their prents and are also taught from the same books. In a world that's constantly evolving, you really cannot expect to equip a child with the knowledge of the 1980s in 2015. Another factor is culture. Unfortunately, our culture abhors any idea of change in its ideology. Women are still being seen as lesser beings who can be "sold", have no right to an opinion and are still being relegated to the kitchen. Elders, are still given undue respect even when they don't deserve it or , in most cases, not doing the right thing. For instance, I'm not supposed to criticize the political leaders because they are not my mates. My "elder"s doesn't dim it fit to apologise to me nor take responsibility when he's wrong Hian. Then there's this lack of nationalism that's eating deep into our youths. Its not uncommon to see an average Nigerian throwing dirt on the street while complaining that the city is dirty. We bribe police officials and complain about their poor service. And the list goes on. |
