I can't be the only one that has noticed one shitty account on dan that puts all the expiring domains of that day In the account just to make us think it's been listed before....the account always has above 80k-800k domains ..........it takes domains expiring that day and paste.......even according to archive.org the domains were active website few months ago....I don't understand that account....I know dan closes it but they keep opening another.....

This is another version of it.....just created recently none of the domains on the account is resolving and all the names on the account are expiring today.....and they were active websites not for sale before....I don't get the reasoning behind this tbh.

But I use DAN search bar to check if a particular domain is/was hosted on DAN. Any thing asides the result I see matters not to me.

Ah well...here's how I go abt.

When have a niche in mind..I set my ED parameters and start searching from 2017 downwards...go as far as u can.

ii. I watchlist based on: - size of city, length of name, ACR (very important to me)
After watchlisting to my satisfaction...I will then balance well, visit my watchlist and start downsizing.
--click on Reg, it will show u similar domains/variations.
* I remove domains whose variations were recently added to ED.
* For the ones that survive, I click on their ACR if they have, it takes me to archive.org where I can see what the domain was last used for.
-- i keep the ones that were previously functioning sites (for obvious reasons), I avoid there ones that where hosted for sale. If the city is very large, but no archive info..I may "keep in view"

- for the ones that survive this second process, I then go to hosterstats to confirm if the expiration dates tallies with that of archive.org (shouldn't be off by more than a year. Just to make sure I'm on track.

-- sometimes I check domaintools to see if the number of "dropped" tallies with the number of "deleted" on hosterstats. Just for good measure.

--to be double sure, I then visit the search bar of DAn and type in the last surviving domains one by one...if nothing pops up, I then pen it down for possible registrar. I hardly visit Afternic for this though.

Sometimes hosterstats will show u the marketplace it was last listed....

..and this my goodman, is how I go abt it.

I checked their background, the offer came from an established firm o. My EU list for that name is about 30+.

When the offers came in, I countered, but never heard from them again. Even if I accepted, there's a possibility that they would still ghost me, because they didn't respond to my counter offer ATALL.

The target is to make sales. A sold domain is better than an expired one.

Personally...I prefer to leave it visible.
I don't know the size of ur portfolio, but I believe showing ur other domains, number sold, etc..carries an air of authenticity and trust.
Anything to douse suspicion is welcomed.

While I must state equivocally that no "kettle" has the right to call any "pot" black.

It is worthy to note that unless there's a previously agreed NDA, posting the amount a domain is sold without revealing the name only serves as inspiration for the up and coming.

In my opinion, the name itself is of more value to this community than the amount sold.
Both the money and the name have gone to their respective destinations; it is knowledge that the rest of us desire.

If the fear/excuse is that someone may register something similar; what then is the essence of domain trends?.
Besides it is neither your time nor money being used.

If u'll rather not post what is more valuable, then better not post at all. The price being displayed is of little value me.

The chaps on Namepros, DNGeek, et-al do not tow this line; we as well should not. The domaining community is far bigger than nairaland.

..to your first question, u can only transfer a domain with an auth code after 60days, and the domain goes wherever the enduser wants, usually another registra. for domains under 60days, ur only option is a "push" ie netsol to netsol, its not a prerequisite for d enduser to buy a domain for either option,
